Think you’re “ missing that trick “ …….. Lexus don’t make glass Pilkington makes glass ….. and windscreens …… never made cars …… Aftermarket non-Lexus glass is quite ok for Lexus cars imho I’ve had a few over the decades and always been absolutely fine …… and accepted by insurers too of course Just have that chip repaired if it can be Malc

I remember when I bought my Mk3 from a member here about 13 years back he gave me a box of assorted bits and bobs …… I only ever used the plugs …… if there’s one in the box ( it will be hiding somewhere 🤔 ) might it be a common Part No do you know ? Thanks Malc

Occasionally at 60 mph upwards ....... when it happens ...... not too often 🫢 Been overthinking this all these months ..... it's not tyres, nor pressures, nor anything to do with the wheels, brakes nor steering, mechanic says all that is just about " spot on " . calipers too ............... no lumps of stone in the treads either BUT .... might it be a slight, occasionally showing itself, imbalance in the propshaft ? What is there that might cause this occasional undue vibration ...... and it can be quite unpleasantly severe too ........... could it be summat to do with the propshaft from time to time ? I'm lost with it all ...... easily overcome when it happens, I just reduce to 50 - 60 mph ! Your thoughts please always welcome Thank you Malc

The Ls400 original exhaust is an enormous thick chunk of stainless steel …….. apart from the front Y Section …… which will possibly outlast the car …… well at 30 years young it’s still fine with blissful quietness 😄 Malc

In my simplicity I was thinking that todays brake pipe comes off a specific copper tube 🤔 Malc

Guess you might be a little too loud along the MWay with a busted exhaust ? Malc

MPG sounds fine for a 4.3ltr V8 👍 Me…. Mostly B&Bs, tiny hotels that sort of thing ……. often started looking about 4pm or so for that night …… and that evening spent chilling, relaxing in the, or a bar …….. never failed to find somewhere ok for that night …… rarely “ do “ posh hotels anywhere ……. over priced …… and food etc always ok in local hostelries, cafes, eateries whatever ……. breakfasts too of course ……. and lunch on the hoof …….. sometimes courtesy of the local Aldi too 😂 Malc

Exhaust Centre. Bower Lane Maidstone Kent ME16 8EH 01622-672798 It’s a large back street exhaust place, but challenging to find tho’, that has tons ( and I mean tons ) of different stock parts and can make-up anything you need …… they have some imaginative creative guys working there some of whom are amazingly helpful ……. I’d be shocked if they can’t sort you out ok BUT like with my complex Y section, they had the car for 2 days to manufacture and fit the complex set-up So you might need to pre-book and leave the car with them ! Mine, a year or so back was £360 incl vat whereas the stock Lexus part at @ £700 was just no longer available from anywhere ….. they had my Ls400 an overnight / 2 days Very helpful and honest guys ……. with good coffee 🤞 Good luck Malc

I never pre book any accommodation apart from maybe my first night …… on my 4/5 week adventures ……. never want to be tied down to having to be somewhere and missing out on adventures afar 🤣 Malc

Your local Main Dealer Spares Depts …….. in Canterbury the Lexus and Toyota Showrooms, whilst separate and a few hundred yards apart, are one and the same Spares Sections located in the Toyota Dept a few hundred yards down the road …… and zero mention of Lexus ……. guess the same proprietor 🤔 Could yours be the same set-up ? I never do that, always just let the feel of the road take me .......... but somewhere in the right'ish sort of direction .... generally 😉 Salamanca City centre is a real wonder to behold and it should be seen if you could squeeze the city centre, a stroll around, into an itinerary Enjoy whatever Malc
