  1. Didn’t the Prince Rainier of Monaco have a cabriolet Ls400 once ……. you’re keeping sound company 👍 Well done ……. it’s looking fine and you’re doing great with it all NOW do NOT earmark and track down those vandals …… their blood on your smart mobil will be a blemish too far ……. hahahaha ……NOT ! Well done it’s GREAT Malc
  2. Graig hi this sounds overly complicated for the quite often Ls400 problem where the revs drop to zero at certain times when running, then braking, slowing down,..................... and long back Lexus changed the ECUs in the USA cars under warranty .......... not in the UK tho' sadly NOW all I do to overcome the issue is to just keep my foot on the " gas " pedal a little, even when I'm braking, to stop her cutting out ...... it works for me ok been doing it for years this way on my 1995 car but haven't found that needed yet on my 1991 car ..... yet ! Do you have this same problem ? Malc
  3. remembering a few years back when i took myself off for a glorious month touring thru' Spain and Portugal, then home back thru' France but not before the Customs Border Force guy leaving Spain had emptied out my boot and all car innards looking for ......... drugs I guess ! He was most peeved when i refused to load it all back into my car and made him do it ...... the bugger 🤣 Malc
  4. Suzie hi ……bit of common sense here ….. . maybe check out your actual tyre size to what’s recommended in your Manual / Service Book ……,, and if they’re incorrect then get them changed promptly ! if they are the right tyres …… and wheels ……. for your car then maybe your regular garage people can investigate further for you …… Good luck Malc
  5. I browse the forum posts fairly frequently and sadly never yet come across any thoughts to solve your problem inexpensively ……. Hope someone has for you Malc
  6. SB hi, how did the repair go ? Malc
  7. Seem to have found a 100 years young radiator business in Leeds that uses a Scottish company who, they suggest, subject to photos and measurements, manufacture one NEW for us for £195 incl vat 👍 let’s see my garage guy now needs to dismantle photo and measure the dead radiator…… she indoors is distraught at having to drive a Ls400 much longer …….. it’s unbelievable. 🤣 Malc
  8. Ah right, it’s the Soarer Looks good 👍 it’ll get sorted ok I’m sure 👌 Malc
  9. Can you put up some photos of your rare 1993 SC400 …… not thinking I’ve ever seen this car 🤔 Malc
  10. " Lucky " could that be the correct expression ........ all you lucky guys with the Ls430 rad gone " pop " My Honda Legend 2006 Mk1V replacement aluminium rad seems as rare as hen's teeth and the least expensive I can find on-line is at £284 🤑 Re-coring specialists seem to regale at aluminium fixes ........ s'pose Old Rads on Classics are copper maybe 🫢 Still searching here so if anyone's got one hiding up in their garage space then do please shout btw Honda Main Dealer thinks he can source one from Belgium he says at @ £900+ .. wot a joke eh ! Malc
  11. Lady at the local craft shop always tells us I remind her of Michael Caine …….. def not David Niven ……. was it a tu tu you’re thinking of ? Or is that a double at Sainsburys maybe ! Malc
  12. I’m sure some clever business somewhere has done that ……. wonder who 🤔 Malc

  15. Linas hi …… and All I think those brokers and insurers ….. all of ‘em ……. have a base point that they won’t insure you whatever, being car, driver age and experience, postcode When they do pass this “ test”, next comes the number of “ events “ on prior policies …… your fault or not, non physical even like glass claim events You may have a totally clean record with everyone else at fault BUT you have been involved and caused some insurer somewhere to open your file and spend time on it I can’t, and won’t even try to explain the totally incomprehensible and inexplicable and one just has to chase around finding an insurer that maybe just “ likes” you If there’s any insurer, broker or even Dan that can dispel my irreverent thoughts then GOOD …… let’s hear them eh ! 😂 Malc
  16. Stuart ……. I’m thinking you’ll be getting her together again for “ another life” Not sure you’ll ever need that replacement radiator though ……. hope I don’t either 😄 Malc

  20. originality of Ls400 glass ........... I have posted assorted rear screen piccs for another post on here over recent months and they all have Toyota apart from my 91 car which has both Lexus AND Toyota emblazoned thereon 😉 I haven't looked at the windscreen hieroglyphics yet even tho' I have had at least one new front screen on my 95 car ! Malc

  22. Thank you ……. It’s definitely, but rarely, at 70+’ish and vanishes to “ normality / zero vibrations “ when I drop her back to 50-65 or so No specific road conditions seem to affect this phenomenon either …….. Braking isn’t an issue …… when I’m in free-flow zipping past all those lumbering giants in those 7 seater monster passenger “ go faster “ truck SUVs 😂 We are so understated in our genteel Ls400s 😇 Malc
  23. Kyle hi, looks like Sir John vanished from this great Forum 10 years back ....... your Ls400 will probably last you forever now ! Fingers Xd 🤞 Malc
  24. When a jobs done poorly or a defective part is used a responsible supplier will remedy …….. the insurer is legally bound in all sorts of ways I’m sure …… as you’ve already experienced 😄 So chill, relax and don’t overly worry about it …… life’s too short Malc
