  2. My 95 Ls400 , now 29 years young, and my 91 Ls400 too, have both deteriorating factory finish paintwork The 91 car I know not it's bodywork history but it all looks pretty original'ish to me ..... bought her last August My 95 car I have had some 13 years and 127k miles of it's nigh on 250k miles upcoming ...... it's lived in Bournemouth before coming to Kent The 95 car finish is rapidly deteriorating, as tho' paint mice are scouring it away ... a local buddy on here with 2 similar age Ls400s is also experiencing similar paintwork issues .... and all over the past 12 months or so Alongside this, my nephew's daughter ( Newmarket way ) has a recently bought 2ndhand 2007 Toyota summat or other and that too is showing similar paintwork deterioration My nephew's seen similar Toyota aged paintwork issues too he tells me On the Ls400s I can appreciate that maybe the age factor just comes into play and we see this specifically, it stands out, coz we don't see many other such aged cars on the roads these days .. and if we do then maybe they've had paintwork repairs / resprays Anyone else with aged Toyota or Lexii have paintwork concerns worthy of note ? Could it all be weather climate change pollution related maybe ? Your thoughts are welcome please Thanks Malc
  3. Bonnet supports refer on one of my earlier Ls400s decades back, I simply used a broom stick …… it works …… only other option 20 years back was Lexus Main Dealer at silly money even in those halcyon days 😄 And in all honesty how often does one really need to open the bonnet on these cars …… top up the screen wash and annual servicing 😇 Malc
  4. £150 sounds probably less expensive than having your existing alternator refurbished / rewound maybe 🤔 Double check it’s the correct one tho’ ……. just in case ! Good luck Malc

  7. Rules rules rules .......... some are there to be broken in a friendly and unambitious way with zero harm to anyone ever at all, as are these ........ reading posts that upset you personally, coz these clearly do, then maybe the best thing is for you personally to simply blank this item from your mind and just simply ignore it going forwward ... it's in your hands but quite frankly, funtime banter helps lighten the mood of all seriousness of which we seem to have aplenty right now Chill chill chill, relax and unwind . .... it's good for the soul Oh, and that's a guarantee too ... 😇 Malc

  10. Bring back Starting Handles ! Reduce the damnable electronicory on cars that drains ‘em Change the Law so’s fresh owners of cars have the same rights at law as the original owner / new battery purchaser That'll make ‘em produce better quality fit for purpose batteries ……. whoever the manufacturer 🤔 None of this is ever likely tho’ ….. is it ? Malc
  11. Hugh hi. Scotland the Brave …… Lexus owners in Scotland have by Law ( might take a week or so to determine the veracity of that tho ) certain exemptions from the rigours of otherwise UK wide petty restrictions denigrating the power of hilarity and frivolousness …… which I know certain readers of this august forum thoroughly enjoy …….. Chill and ENJOY eh ! 😇 Malc
  12. As he lifts his leg to have a wee wee …… in awe of His Masters Voice 😇 Malc

  18. I found Gibraltar essentially one of the most boring places on earth tbh ....... Morrisons car park was ok for a centre spot and some light Brit shopping ! Cadiz must be much better, surely ? Malc
  19. What’s even better …… a garage customer of mine had a Camry Estate, about that era …….. it was absolutely STUNNING a FANTASTIC BEAUTIFUL MACHINE in light green …….. one of the best cars I’d ever seen tbh Malc
  20. by the piccy date it's been on their forecourt since October maybe ! Malc
  21. fret not ...... there's a possible move afoot in these areas to simply execute a new modus ... end buyers of any illicit / stolen cars will be having a summary execution ....... no Qs asked .. that might stop some of this thievery ....... might we adopt a simple robust response too by sending the caught thieves here to have some sort of redemption ......... just a hand or two chopped off, ameliorated from simple straightforward execution ......... too messy and might upset some of the do-gooders no doubt BUT it could reduce the theft rate and bring insurance premiums down a tad 🤞 Malc
  22. Is that you then ..... alias a chipmunk lookalike with some sort of Space Age timepiece and sticking 2 fingers up at someone ? 🤣 Malc
  23. Biggles no doubt 😄 Malc
  24. Dan hi, Ruud was last on here in May 2017 Steve2006 is a more recent Celsior man with older Ls400 skills set and loadsa knowledge …… he might be able to help ! Good luck Malc
  25. 2/6d =. 12.5p. Your maths is appalling 🥵 Austin’s yes …… antiques emporium, never a “ junk shop “ 😇. One in Brayards Road ? and the much bigger open’ish store up by the Green on Peckham Rye …… I’d moved, when I was 7, to Nunhead by then …… upmarket from Peckham 😄 …… just along from the cemetery …… 52 acres of bliss in a heaving metropolis ……… I used to work there too in the school holidays …… ancillary gardener and grave digger 😄 Taught me how to avoid digging my own thru much of life eh ! It’s a small world 🤔 Malc
