  1. your Honda Accord Mk8 Touring sounds interesting ……. rare I’m thinking too ! The Legend ……. They only sold some 285 in the UK between 2006/12 and possibly the best car Honda made but could never sell here …… they are quite inexpensive now by comparison to other 3.5ltr “ limos” and Autotrader often have stellar mileage ones at modest prices say £2/3k but low mileage cars at “ collectors “ silly prices These engines will do huge miles ….. mines now done just about 150k with only normal servicing + an alternator, brakes, tyres, batteries whatever ….. great cars but suffer from the plasticised silver chrome peeling and of course now dings and dents and wheels needing refurbishing …… and at the car’s value I’m not sure I’ll be treating her except for continuing proper annual servicing and maintenance …… looking pristine doesn’t hack it for me with the Honda Legend My bro-in-law spent lots £££££ at the Main Dealer before I bought it from him 8 years back ……. he then got a Lexus as his Director’s company car 👍 I should have realised the gearbox oil cooler / radiator issue at approaching 150k was “ preventative maintenance “ territory just like the later Ls430s My two Ls400s are the right cars for me but ‘er indoors ‘ just much prefers her Honda Legend …… as I pay the bills of course 🤩 I’ll see what piccys I can achieve ……. soon 😅 Malc
  2. Unlike the probable very last X reg year 2000 Ls400 finding a buyer on here from forum member borderslad …….. my 2006 Honda Legend might possibly be one of the very first of the KB Mk1V Legends sold here in the UK Malc 🤔
  3. Should’ve been ok then as it’s OEM presumably 🤔 not having being replaced by Varta or some such doubtful, dubious make Malc
  4. Oh my it’s 1.3 billion and ONE now 😇 Malc
  5. He runs a London Black Cab too ……. But in Wedding White …… of course 😄 Malc
  6. So who is it ? C’mon YOU know we want to know ……. being in the know is the font of all know…ledge the new proud owner of your illustrious last of the line Ls400s ……… who are U ? Malc
  7. No idea where you’re based ……. Where I live on Sheppey in Kent a local wedding venue proprietor also owns and runs his fleet of white wedding cars ……. from a modern Bentley to classic cars ……. I don’t think there’s a Lexus amongst them tho’ Good luck Malc
  8. Hang on a jiff ... . the pastic headlamp cover with a little filler you'll likely find is perfectly OK going forwards and won't affect your MOT needs . this is the common touch for used car dealers to make everything fine without being silly with their money ! . the issue being to repel water and that repair will last another 10 years maybe ! The bumper issue ...... take the car to an independent MOT place and ask them for their view ......... both on the plastic headlamp lens repair as now is AND if the bumper is ok for the next MOT . if it is then maybe just a little filler and a can of spray paint but if it's not, then maybe a 2nd hand one from a breaker somewhere . Ebay maybe whatever ! Professional Painting parts is mega expensive these days ! It might be that getting a brand new bumper could be very difficult with parts availability still very challenging .. Suez Canal issues holding stuff up hugely .... No point throwing your money down the pan eh ! A little due diligence might save you mega £££££ Good luck Malc
  9. Not just a puncture to worry about it’s the pothole tyre shredding ……. Spacesaver could be sensible BUT RAC / AA carry universal spares these days …… and of course jacks brace etc BUT their carrying stock might have already been used up that day and the Recovery guy might be sans a necessary spare for you …….. just a thought 🤔 Malc
  10. Has anyone a thought on the cost £££££ of a Wrap ?🤑 I suspect it's horrendous 🤔 Thanks Malc
  11. Sorry if this in the wrong section BUT Of course. We’ve had electric milk floats for at least 70 years to my personal knowledge ……. Dairymen didn’t get their electric charging cables stolen ! So what’s the “ new concept “ of the EV then ? Malc
  12. And normal households might suffer the same fate EV owners waking up in the morning cable-less 😰 Malc
  13. 😂 Not just an Sc but also a modern ridiculously tall SUV …… Old fashioned Ls400 is “ just about right “. for me 🤞
  14. Possibly a Covid victim relative now selling …… decd estate being wound up …. just want to clear it away …….. there’s too many old cars chasing too few “ new “ potential owners during this current recession where people are only reluctantly spending ……… Us Oldies with too much time and spare dosh mustn’t lose sight of the vagaries of the economic clime ……. and old collectible cars just ain’t “ essentials “ right now But times will change I know 🤔 Malc I just cannot accommodate a 3rd Ls400 whatever the price 🥵🤣
  15. But who knows what on earth you’d uncover after 3 years with no MOT and presumably off the road in benign storage 🤔 Malc
  16. Old School garage people are often pragmatic and realistic and sort out all sorts of issues at hopefully realistic prices Good luck Do keep us in the picture Malc
  17. Is it really glass ? Or the usual plastic that, by law, modern cars use for headlamps ……… whichever, can’t it be “ made good “ with some sort of filler product ……. and save you some £535 🤔 Don't know what other damage is involved but your likely costs covering it all might become rather challenging ! Good luck Malc
  18. The suspense is excruciating 🤣 Malc
  19. AVOID VARTA at all costs ................. the replacement Varta battery supplied under the RAC Warranty has FAILED .... but at the garage replacing my Honda radiator ..... it couldn't hold it's charge and after much trying ...... so the garage provided a replacement that hopefully will now outlast the remaining warranty period of the useless Varta one ..... I've not bothered contacting the RAC to have a whinge ..... it'll be too much hassle, life's too short methinks ! Malc I can't actually see the make of the new battery tho', it's seriously screwed down with the brackets and the make isn't at all visible at this time ... and I haven't the energy to get-to and dismember the clamps 😅
  20. I just checked my J reg 91 car and there's zero drawer under the pax front seat to hold the package The 95 N reg car however does have that drawer .............. but I don't have the First Aid pack tho' 🙃 Malc
  21. Well there we are . that new under balance of the RAC Warranty replacement VARTA battery, died a death and the garage couldn't get it to hold it's charge over the weeks they've had the car waiting for the replacement radiator ............ so with all the above work they also replaced the battery ... £66 ? I thought I heard him say ! ...... so let's hope that lasts 3 years then ! NOW the full works cost me £340 incl the new battery ..... drain and refill the gearbox and its oil AND he's managed to remove the orange warning lights on the dash about this too after some years ......... The Honda has to go back after a month for another gearbox oil drain and refill he says ... so that's in the diary ! New Radiator cost £ 144.12 from Autodoc and the other ....... labour/gearbox oil/ new radiator coolant and then new battery costs of .... £340 ....... Total £480 Not too bad to save the gearbox whatever . and she runs as before, as smooth as silk ... but no comparison to the Ls400s eh ! 👍 Malc Lesson ...... Varta are rubbish
  22. I think it’s summat you make-up yourself to put in the under front seat storage box Malc
  23. Oh ok ……. C’mon outta da woodwork whoever you are 😂 Malc
