Thought I’d report back ……. Maybe 20 or so booootiful cars dating back nigh on 100 years to a year 2000 RR …… very proud caring owners BUT there was a N reg 95 RR with the paint bubbling under the exterior door tops ……… not so well accomplished a finish in this instance as my aged Ls400s 😄 A very fine line-up of outstanding beautiful cars BUT it’s made my mind up that I def won’t be buying that S3 Bentley …… there was a similar shape earlier S1 there in outstanding appearance Good to see and chat with caring owners on a wonderful day in the Kent countryside Malc

Falken tyres ……. are generally thought to be at the top end of budget tyres pricewise ……. but of good high quality, nigh premium tyres in use and wear ……. I’ve used Falkens for many years and tens of 000’s miles on my cars and have nothing but praise Balancing, tracking and correct tyre pressures are your friend ……. and of course good condition suspension helps hugely …… and sensible thoughtful driving which is beyond many 🤔 Falkens for me 👍 Malc

Jack sorry to read of your plight ……. use your usual local mechanic maybe ? Replacement alternator would usually be on an exchange basis ……. and would need to be the correct fitting version whichever the make ….. OEM is irrelevant I feel ! Your degree of urgency would depend on how much time you have to sort the problem and how much spare ££££ you may have RAC offer you an instant solution it would seem 🤔 Others here will have other thoughts I’m sure Good luck Malc

There’s already common HGV and Bus usage of Hydrogen Power in Europe ……. I’m assuming the professionals understand it’s cleaner than normal ICE however it’s facilitated ……. and it’s well proven Do the green brigade want us to just abandon motorised transport for everything …… and get on a bike 🤔 Coz there’s never going to be enough electrikity generated to power-up even a fraction of the number of EVs that’s being proposed in the UK alone The closest answer, to my mind, for now for clean fuel creation and pumping out clean emissions is probably hydrogen The rest is simply “ pie in the sky “ so……. “ get on ur bike “ 🤣😂 Malc

We’re hoping to go, weather looks to be ok thankfully ……,, an old 1965 S3 Bentley I’ll be seeking out …… so rare to see these days Had to pop into my local Indy garage today to sort out a very complex pax side wiper blade replacement on the Honda Legend …….. mentioned my “ dream “ of a Bentley S3 and he was aghast …… breakdowns and costs would create huge issues ……. just keep with the Ls400s for sanity and peace of mind his thoughts So I shall I’m sure 🤩🤞 Malc

The other simple fact of life is that unless the UK Govt tax regime allows Toyota and Lexus and the other car manufacturers to make profit from UK manufacturing, servicing and sales then those car businesses will simply vanish and take their business to another country and tax regime ……… they’re global businesses and there’s plenty of other countries with willing competent workforces and more friendly Govts Certainly the UK sales market is brilliant for the motor manufacturers BUT they’ve got to be able to make it work for them and profitable …….. no way to make profit and they’ll simply, reluctantly go elsewhere …….. these are global businesses and will get fed up bashing their heads against a brick wall ……. the UK Govt penal car tax regime These are Global businesses and NOT UK centric Malc

And I bought my second Ls400 last August coz my Bentley S3 1965 would have been a silly car to own and try to keep on the road …….. just to scratch that itch 😅😂🤣 By the way, just found out there’s a Rolls Royce and Bentley “ classic show” at Great Comp Place at Platt near Sevenoaks this Sunday 14th ……. And sheer desperation to get EV private personal sales as opposed to probably very heavily subsidised corporate sales to get those figures right for the Govt volume criteria and trying to avoid those upcoming severe £££££ penalties EVs seem to be a rigged market and the novelty of owning one will wear off as soon as the buyers, both personal and corporate, have to on-sell or p/ex and take an extraordinarily huge depreciation hit in real cash terms when liquidating the asset …….. this is the real world methinks 🤔 Toyota Lexus we’re very late to the EV concept and market coz they were dragged screaming and shouting into it just knowing it was probably going to be zero cost effective and a Balance Sheet drain for years to come Maybe I’m hopelessly wrong 🤣 Malc

The WORLD at large won't be changing from petrol and diesel vehicles anytime soon ...... just us in the UK seem to be hooked on some dream or other that we are more polluting with our cars than anywhere else and we can make that difference ! We're being taken for that ride by China and BYD who are producing zillions of EVs and building the most amazing number of new coal fired powerstations every month ......... they haven't a care in the world about our UK Clean Air ambitions I'm sure BUT for sure, keep on buying those EVs from Tesla and BYD and even the later into this dying market, like Lexus and Renault and Ford whatever ............ 🤑 Malc

I get dizzy climbing on a dining room chair BUT our window cleaner never climbs anything ...... it's all done using a long extending water jetted brush these days ........... that seems to work ok ! But you haven’t tracked the Value Appreciation of some older models …….. e.g. the Ls400s ……. I'm sure the curve switches upwards at about 20 years young …….. seeing the prices now of some of these collectibles maybe 🤔 Do you anticipate a reversal of values for the LCs after say 20 years of age ? …… and maybe a good buy now for a long term “ hold “ Malc
