Mk3 N reg 95 car, 251k miles now just about .......... must get my rear offside wheel arch sorted ... I've now been quoted £280 all-up with cutting out and welding, paint whatever ..... but there's all sorts of dings and dents and much old age paint issues all over this amazing car and, well, I don't know ...... I should spend on her I know . but I can see a full and proper paint job could be maybe £4k 'ish OR ............ do I just sort out this wheel arch issue I wonder ............. it's not expensive and gets some dosh into the local economy and the earlier quote I had last year at £400 from a different provider ........ I just brushed aside I don't know 🙃 Malc

possibly coz Members here ensure this is attended to in good time ....... as it's only ever 60/100k miles not many Members get to do it more than the once .............. I've had it done a few times on my various Ls400s over the decades 👍 My Mk3 95 Ls400 is uptodate ok BUT my 91 car I cannot see it's ever been changed yet but as it's only on 101k miles on the speedo my fingers are xd that I'm all ok on this front . for now anyway ....... especially as she drives dreamlike ......... as to be expected of course 👋👋 Malc

The initial thought to beat up remorselessly the, so they, Starmer and Reeves, thought impossibly useless at fighting back, OAPs might have been an early sign of their gross incompetence at vindictive Government OAPs suffering, they estimate some 2.6 million, real real hardship this winter from cancelling the WINTER FUEL PAYMENT and the bizarre, but tragic owning up belatedly that no-one in Govt was competent enough to think to do an IMPACT ASSESSMENT Even a tiny percentage of that badly affected 2.6 million number being a call on GPs, Ambulances, Hospitals and beds …… and Starmer saying the NHS won’t get any more money until reform ….. and He AND Reeves remorselessly piling on the pressure this winter simply from more OAPs being Govt inspired health wise beaten-up and NEEDING greater health care Govt INCOMPETENCE seemingly shows no bounds with all this ……. With the suggested PNC with AGE. UK London rally on 7th October ? and maybe likely support from the TUC ……. is the Govt fully supported by almost 100% if it’s Labour MPs going to sit comfortably ever again 🤔 Malc

Excellent and welcome ........... there's mountains of knowledge here and very helpful Members Malc

the NATIONAL PENSIONERS CONVENTION ( NPC ) seems to be a national organisation that I'd never heard of before this debacle I'm reading it is proposing a March on London somewhere,............. in early October ............. alongside AGE UK the NPC appears to be strongly aligned with the TUC This should prove interesting I feel and maybe worthy of our further interest 😉 Malc 511,519 Signatures so far AGE UK PETITION WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE

Zero new IMPACT ASSESSMENT should be criminal too ……. not just unimaginable gross incompetence I feel Slap’em in irons, throw away the keys ……, send them to the Colonies for retribution and punishment ……. ( Holiday in ) Jamaica. Barbados. Australia or even the America’s before independence ……. Nah, they’d be rejected, sent back …… these places only want “ good people “ Malc

Rylan hi and welcome to this Forum Can you tell us a little more about your car and your ownership and what you’ve already done to try to deal with this issue please It might help in our understanding better going forward There’s a potential wealth of knowledge here and we’re all here to try to help Thanks Malc

It’s confirmed the Govt galloped headlong into the devastating breach of trust of its OAPs and never bothered to undertake the IMPACT ASSESSMENT for the Winter Fuel Payment CANCELLATION all we can go by is Keir Starmer historic assessment from 2017 when urging the then Govt not to cancel the WFPayment that it could result in the premature and Govt induced OAP deaths of some 3850 souls So Labour did an earlier IMPACT ASSESSMENT stating up to 3850 Govt induced deaths could occur with this policy of WINTER FUEL PAYMENT CANCELLATION and they go headlong down this devastating route they had previously condemned Oh well, we can only expect more gross incompetence I’m thinking 🥵 Malc
-
Then an IMPACT ASSESSMENT should be done asap by some Official Body I did read somewhere that Sir Kier had refused to make it available to his MPs before the vote ……. intimating, to my mind anyway, that it had been done, just not available-witheld If not done then that smacks of gross negligence considering the likely affect on some 10,000,000 OAPs Malc

I think this might well be a simple fact of life ............ and death ...... people will be too struck down with cold to realise they're dying .. ........... of cold ....... and simply be unable to do anything , nor thinking to wish to do anything, to stop it .................. this will occur I'm sure Many 000s will die thru' this effect this winter ...... the figures won't be correlated unless, like you say, some Body such as AGE UK develop a strategy to keep those numbers publicised ...... monthly would help ! By the way, we're up to: 511,002 Signatures now AGE UK Petition WINTER FUEL PAYMENT Malc

Sadly there’ll be a daily take, increase, of hypothermia hit OAPs ……. and it’s unlikely Coroners would have licence to specify Govt Critical criteria caused deaths methinks 🥵 No one’s going to allow Labour Govt criticism, especially by us OAPs ….. we’ll be castigated, popped in prison, breaking rocks to keep warm ……. 🙃 Malc

Is there a way to fix these old headlights
Malc1 replied to Tynisteri's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
On my plastic lenses 2006 Honda Legend ( my Ls400s are all glass ) we do this every year just before MOT time and it gets them in best condition going forward for another year .. it's a relatively simple quick job done each time Trying to do permanent clean-ups on plastic lenses has never worked for me SO just resigned to this annual simple quick " fix " Malc -
I did mention before that maybe the Coroner should have these potential death vibes in his mind and say ...........if the cold did for 'im ! Malc

Did Leeds Lexus change my £87 air filters???
Malc1 replied to Tom999's topic in Lexus General Maintenance
I think all of us, whichever car we have, would always want the air filter checked over at each service, scheduled or nay, and if it seems to need changing through whatever reason, miles, air driving conditions, weather whatever, then it could do with being changed to ensure the best running of the car It's just so sad that the Main Dealer can't be bothered with this sort of " norm " I know that my indy would always check this out and if ok, then it's ok . if not then he would change it ... tiny cost within a normal service eh ! Abandon the Main Stealer for servicing asap Malc -
I feel the proper scale of the backlash will appear once the nation gets hold of the IMPACT ASSESSMENT that was done showing, perhaps the potential deaths from the cancellation of the Winter Fuel Payment biding one's time is ok for those that will survive but alas too late for those OAPs that will be dead because of these Labour Party MPs that have consigned very many, possibly 000s to a premature Labour Govt induced death Malc

Remember nowt is recession proof. Especially old cars 🤔 Malc

Thanks all for your comments. I agree that the car looks better sitting slightly lower, but for me a Lexus is all about comfort - speed's never been important for me (as would be clear to you if you knew what cars I've had in the past). ....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... This was from Forum Member Scribe in August 2010 f it helps ..... and I'm reading that genuine cars came as DHP direct from the factory, not amended later Malc
