Dealer using customer's car for business use
Malc1 replied to MadJam250's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Andrew ... are you able to specifically advise the actual Remedy you are seeking ? In simple short clear concise brief sentences Bullet point-like so that they can understand easy enough If it's summat like an admission of foul play or bad workmanship then that's rectifiable ....... I guess ............ But if it's not a specific physical remedy you're asking for then I'm doubting you'll get much further Bad reviews on Trust Pilot or whatever might do something to relieve the frustration but I'm not even sure about that these days ...... does anyone take any notice of them nowadays ..... I doubt it tbh I share your frustration ................. Malc -
then I'm useless to ask really 🤣 .............. my Honda Legend is brilliantly bullet proof too and a great cruiser BUT I just can't get " right " in the seating by comparison to my Ls400 I've driven all sorts in my car sales business owning days RR big Mercs Audi Jaguars ( older ) SUVs .. fun cars like the WRX Aston Martini big and small BMWs BUT for comfort and reliability and durability with relatively tiny expense well, then, the Ls400 just beats 'em all to it tbh I'm quite OK popping the odd £grand into her as the miles and time pass by ... at 242k miles and 50% of that mine over 11 years ............ so I've lots to personally compare my old Ls400 with but from a little time past ....... I'm not about to pop £5 / 10/20/30/100k into a replacement car ............ but I would replace the LS 400 if she was a write-off or whatever I'm sure none of the above helps you to find a sensible alternative🙃 Malc

comfy comfy comfy .. and oh so reliable these Lexii I just returned yesterday from a week's driving to Thurlestone Devon, where we stayed and popped down to Penzance and Mousehole for a day and back home to Kent yesterday via the huge dreadful congestion affecting everything from those nutters closing the Dartford Xng access .............. total miles travelled from home back to home over those 7 glorious sunny days ...... 1098 miles of sheer bliss ............ apart from refuelling and terrible roadworks getting down into Cornwall and back Ls400 sure is a great way to spend one's time travelling Malc

David, not sure which of these i used but just try to call them both maybe The one i used was so so helpful and the process ordering was simple and straightforward with me cutting a paper template to send to them and product produced by return almost ....... they didn't have a Honda Legend one in stock and very happy to cut-to-order If they're still in business i can't believe they wouldn't be able to produce you your needed internal mirror to stick over existing 020 8998 9642 and 020 8810 8586 as i say, all-up cost incl postage was about £20 Good luck Malc

30 years is a good long time with Lexus in your mind . well done .... enjoy your new car Malc

David, there's a few on-line businesses that specifically cut glass car door mirrors .. they might even have one in stock or like my Honda Legend that's a rare beast they just asked me to draw and send a template and By Return came a stick on cut to measure mirror . about £20 but a couple of years back tho' Malc

hahahahaha I think not Only if you encase yourself in a sound proofed studio ............ terrace, semi or detached won't make one iota of difference to your sound travelling .............. unless you're Pop Larkin out in the wilds somewhere Malc -

Your considerations and sentiments are very worthy BUT BUT BUT you must do what's best for you and if needs be let the other people down,,,,,,,,,, gently You and yours are far more important at this terrible economic catastrophe time brought upon us by these dickheads in Govt Malc -
On this specifically, take great care with your investigations ....... was chatting to my son-in-law the other day about car paint finishes ........... he's a really really expert car paint sprayer with decades of knowledge He tells me there are 3 different grades of paint to use and you simply get what you pay for The cheapest and most commonly used has a short useful life, but looks good on the car initially the most expensive, which he encourages clients to use ... he restores classic car and very expensive car ....... paint finishes and will give best effect and maybe last for decades .... as we get initially on our older Lexuses from when they were new Now as you're in Australia there may of course be other climate issues you should be considering with any paint finish .... just a little thought for you Best wishes with your decisions Malc

maybe a terrible minefield right now with this stitch-up by the stupid politicians ( that's all of 'em by the way ..... not just the current mob in Govt ) ............... Herbie Hope you're getting max use from your Lexus and that your Mrs is " holding her own " The interest rate charges must be eye-wateringly bad just now and into the short future ............ maybe get some local builder to give you better specific advice on an internal lift and stay put . there's all sorts of Council and maybe other Grants for these sort of internal alterations too if appropriate It's amazing what a clever eye and informed can fit into a tiny space with modern technology lifts etc Best wishes Malc -
what are these ? I'd have thought all UK Doctors would be responsible to the NHS in some way ? ,,,,,,,,,,,, even only if they sub their private practice to take on NHS Patients at some or even any stage in their " business " Malc

now you, listen up .............. a couple of years ago I was asked ... volunteered to be appointed to the local GPs Surgery Patient Board of Advisory Competence or whatever you're referring to ..... all the same thing ............ BUT shortly thereafter, having raised some sensible issues, the GPs " closed " the Board down and all members dissipated ................ they would only want the advisory panel / Board if it acceded to their needs and standards you and i wouldn't last 5 minutes ..... well i didn't whatever ............ HOWEVER .......... I am a member of Canterbury City Council ad hoc volunteer and unexpensed Disability Advisory Panel and I'm very pleased to say that our input is usually taken seriously in addressing the Council's suggested actions and developments affecting the disabled it's not all bad out there BUT you've got to search hard to find a business that's wanting to take criticisms on the chin Malc

south Devon's pretty mixed beautiful warm and sunny, wet and windy, cloudy and clear blue skies ............. just about everything but no driving winds or storms in this part of the world ............ no stormy seas either ....... great to be here on holiday ......... High Street hills to climb but knowing there's a coffee at the end of the " climb" with a good scone or pasty ................ don't like this new found idea to serve drinks at table in paper cups and cake on paper plates ............ cheapskate on what look like "worthy" and nice places to rest a while ........... I'm going to be far more discerning with my future patronage ............ bloody cheapskate Tea Rooms bit of a rant I s'pose, sorry about that Malc

sadly so very few people care a monkey's about customer care these days and fail to accept or even realise that it's the customer that pays their wages and keeps the business going ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Cest le vie ........ it probably won't change all the while money grabbing is to the fore HOWEVER .......... I would certainly take on board Steve's thoughts above and maybe invite the Dealer along to the Event with your chosen specialist to see at first hand what's going on in your mind Something might trigger an ounce of realism that all's not well with his Lexus business Just a thought Malc

Unfortunately when I had my electrical gremlins there wasn't a single local auto electrician that was able nor willing to even try to get to grips with whatever might have been the problem with my old lady On balance I quite agree with you BUT specifically even the specialists can get spooked with aged electrics and that's simply what we're faced with in our old ladies Malc
