  1. and the front exhaust pipe replacement nowadays has to be fabricated by someone . the OEM part is NOT available from anywhere and when it was about £6/700 .... mine at 235k miles cost me £360 for a bespoke fabricated replacement this year They don't last forever ! Malc
  2. I'm rather concerned on their human rights thoughtfulness .......... in producing all this stuff that we keep buying and thereby supporting their ethos generally Malc
  3. I'm also watching Dudley Dupes V reg Ls400 Malc
  4. I vote for hydrogen power OR a V8 4ltr petrol ( of course ) Malc
  5. he's possibly fortunate to have these installed .. i know I'm not allowed as i live in a Conservation Area ... and on a double yellowed line high street and limited parking access at the rear . so I'm never going to be able to have a EV methinks . nor do i wish for one either ( at this time ) A local MP was and still is I guess, trying to tell the UK that Solar Panels come from China ........ are we too dependent on China one wonders ! We never hear about the source of our solar panels ......... do we ?? Malc
  6. my 1995 Ls400 N7GNT .......... for 21st November ...... 242k miles now, drives a dream as ever ...... nothing squeals, beautiful smooth and happy drive .. very fast and quick on kick-down and stops on a pinhead new indy mechanic tho' and just around the corner .......... my usual indy gave up servicing cars etc earlier this year ........ shame coz he knows her inside out and back to front . all the quirks and foibles .... been looking after my cars for some 15 ? years or so ..... let's see what this new guy has to say .......... he is his own MOT station and Tester too .......... . fingers xd eh ! I'll keep you posted Malc
  7. nope ..... . but as i said, it actually looks an 'arf decent car ! BUT in the flesh it just might be a bag of old bones 🤑 Malc
  8. Police in Hounslow et al have fleets of Hydrogen cars these days Malc
  9. silly looking battery pack and there's a zero price tag BUT WOT a stunner eh ! Malc
  10. I was amazed, nay shocked to see the 63 x 5 Star reviews knowing the history around this seller ? This is the guy with the Court Findings against him etc ? I'm presuming Malc
  11. they all don't have the storage capacity ...... my local Asda stores don't have E5 , nor some of my Sainsbury's either and the likes of BP, well, last weekend I filled up with E5 and the difference in price was a staggering 14p a ltr rather than the usual 7p or 8p The island of Ireland probably has some further limitations with storage and volumes of types of fuel being sold too Good luck with it all .... my E5 garages i now know locally here in my part of Kent Malc
  12. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202210241025045?model=LS 400&include-delivery-option=on&make=Lexus&radius=1501&sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&year-to=2022&postcode=me115ag&page=1 Well I don't know .. this one don't look 'arf bad ! Malc
  13. a nice old fashioned DS Citroen from the 1970's in EV form would be a nice to have car methinks Citroen made some fabulous designed cars, it just needs the best of those to be re-jigged Malc
  14. pulleys and waterpump too whilst you're in there ...... it's a monster of a job timewise for sure I suspect the window delamination might be solved with replacements from somewhere you ........... and me if I was in your situation eh ! Best wishes Malc
  15. going on about this one .......... a rare Mk3 with not bad looking bodywork ........ the rust repairs might be a chore BUT think what you'd have to pay to get a luxo barge V8 in " sound " nick these days ....... especially a Lexus Pleased I'm not in the market for one ( yet, touch wood ) otherwise methinks I'd be looking at it with a view to some economic " just needed " restoration to get it thru the MOT cars are consumables and to restore at much cost £££ and not to use the car is a bit criminal to my mind ........... and then you're in the real world of more dings and dents and simple knocks that insurers write them off for I don't know ! .. £1500 maybe 🤔 Malc
  16. Good luck for Monday Malc
  17. Looks a low mileage car too . anything else ? piccys ? Malc
  18. this is a Mk3 and at that low mileage I'm a little surprised at the rust issues tbh .......... she must have lain somewhere unused by the coast and under high tide from time to time ! Might be the vendor is just being over cautious so's no one can come back and sue for misrepresentation AND it might be that the MOT Tester had a bit of a downer that day too previous owner since 2008, some 14 years and he's changed the amber lenses so at some stage he's probably cared for the car ............. maybe even changed the cambelt etc at 100k miles too ............. . I can't see the label telling all BUT I can see a proper Toyota Yuasa battery ! At half that price I'd maybe take a punt and get a fresh MOT Tester involved and with Steve's help and his mig welder ( or some one else's ) one might have a very fine car Be a pity to see another Mk3 go to the scrapper for what could be a relatively tiny investment Malc
  19. me too with my 56 plate Honda Legend . full compliment of orange warning lights all the time BUT my indy assures me there's absolutely nothing wrong with the car apart from a challenging but tolerated sensor somewhere in the depths of the gearbox ...... cost to fix probably horrendous and maybe greater than the value of the car .......... so. we just put up with it and continue driving this otherwise superb 3.5 ltr Honda limo BUT of course my Ls400 is far far superior in all respects 😇 Malc
