  1. Brian hi The steering rake motors can be bought non-Main Dealer I’m reading from other posts and save a small fortune Seats I know nowt about ….. I’ve never read about those “ failing “ …… the heater elements in the 400s stop working and really aren’t fixable they say Malc
  2. GEN hi I think driving some 20k miles a year in your great Ls600 with effectively quite modest per mile maintenance cost is GREAT ……. it’s when those same maintenance costs hit on more modest annual miles that immense pain follows I would imagine a Ls600 simply not for the feint hearted with an “ ordinary “ maintenance budget 😄 The Ls430 might “ win the day “ in this context Malc

  5. and that is R/H drive too, maybe that's why it's not expensive Stateside US$3000 and possibly worth importing to the UK 🙃 with sterling getting stronger by the day it seems Malc
  6. we’re all doomed doomed doomed ……. then BANG I’ll keep opening windows just in case …… indoors too and suffer depleted ozone down me lungs 🥵. 🤣😂 🙏 Malc

  8. If it’s the same radiator as the Ls430 then that forum says there’s 3, yes 3 different options of the correct one ……. so take care 🤔 Saves the rad leaking into the gearbox cooler and destroying the gearbox …….. 10yr / 100k mile ( 160k kms ) intervals BUT a Sc430 owner could confirm this or nay please As you’re keeping the car in your garage for a month …… well, I would take her out for short runs each week just to keep everything “ ok “ …… can you do that ? Others might offer more practical thoughts on that tho’ Malc
  9. in some sort of summary …….. much older cars with aircon kept on permanently have a different “ quality “ of gas and gassing and might have good longevity …… BUT being kept on permanently is quite essential 🤔 Later cars AC have different “ quality “ gas and possibly reduced longevity it seems 🤔 and often need lots of £££££££ spent to refurbish the AC system set-up …… or £99 a year ? On a check-up indeed my 91 Ls400 AC is permanently on and I can find no trace of ever re-gassing in the paperwork …… and it works fine 🤞🤞🤞….. and I open windows lots too 😄 My 95 car AC packed up very soon after I bought her in 2011’ish and I haven’t had it looked at as the prior owner had it all re-done/ gassed just before my purchase ……. I open windows ok …… I’d possibly be faced with a huge and uneconomic bill to fix maybe …… greater than the cars worth possibly 🤔 I can live with it all as-is 😄 Malc
  10. There is of course the Lexus Is 200 5dr “ estate” but that’s a tiddler really 🤔 Malc

  12. indubitably it will unless you're amazingly lucky with all the gods on your side and you rarely use her .............. or am I being too downbeat ? your profile says you have a Ls430 ... why not use that more ? Malc
  13. perhaps the Govt could open some Starmer PM Cabinet, Grace and Favour houses to OAPs as Warm Centres this winter ..... to congregate from the rigours of cold Dorneywood and Chevening for instance 👍 Malc
  14. but sadly there's no commitment in the check to repair any of the very expensive items that one might be expected to purchase from Lexus when a repair or replacement is considered, by them, necessary . or indeed any other garage AC " service and check " AND we just know that where there's ' doubt ' that the mechanic will recommend that quite ( very ) expensive repair and replacement ........... they are of necessity out to ' up sell ' services maybe ! But the initial £99 doesn't seem at all bad .......... and well worth it when one's going down this simple AC service route 🤞 Malc
  15. Does anyone else actually ever open their car windows in the UK one wonders 🤔 Malc

  17. Alf Garnett 👏👍👏…….. and Tony Booth great actor alongside with brilliant Socialist Principles emerging there 👏 father-in-law to Tony Blair even Many OAPs sure had it rough too in the 1960’s and right up til then …… from whenever thru the Wars and post war Britain deprivations for most ……. and continuing for several millions OAPs now too …….. Clothes banks and Food banks await with Council and Charity run Warm Spaces …….. and now with great impact on the spending power of several million OAPs this now cancelled WINTER FUEL PAYMENT is an absolute LIFELINE that’s absolutely necessary for winter survival for many Its so important that this number have now signed the AGE. 19. Blimey, Child Benefits ……. don’t remember much about those …… my eldest ‘ child ‘ is 50 next month and the others not far behind 🤣😂 HMRC has made it simple they tell me to keep all my tax / income affairs on track and urging one to complete it all as early as possible …….. I shall obey of course …… like all good simple tax obedient souls in the UK My OAP State Pension covers my E5 V8 4ltr ( and more ) fuel costs ……. should it cover more. ? 😇 Seriously tho’. I’m quite distraught with people cheating with their HMRC stuff It’s unfair and a drain on Society …… and Expenses for MPs and Prime Ministers do need to be fairly met, of course, from the Public Purse AND if other benefactors can give our PM free “ working “ clothes and tickets to football matches, well, so be it Snout in the trough however comes to mind ……. our PMs Socially Aware Socialist colleagues will see the subtlety of it all and there will doubtless be a “ day of reckoning “ by said colleagues and society at large In the interim however AGE. UK. Petition now at 523,347. Signatures WINTER FUEL PAYMENT Malc
  20. Means Testing State Pensions is too complex, irrelevant and unlikely I feel as the OAPs Start Pension Drawing Date will just be extended to fit in with what's in the Chancellor's available budget to pay There's plenty of Means Testing already with PIPs and all those other Benefits that some deserving receive ................. and presumably there's many non-deserving recipients too Starmer and Reeves are simply blind to, or just ignoring, the subtleties of this quagmire they've coagulated into and I'm not at all sure that they will zap themselves from this anytime soon 522,770 Signatures now AGE UK Petition WINTER FUEL PAYMENT Malc
