Malc1 replied to Malc1's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
But NOT in most of the world .............. where " mass market " vehicles diesel and petrol is quite a useful product over much of Africa, Asia, North and South America too and of course India . where the Delhi Govt has just introduced ALL buses are now Electric ..... with a " local " population of some 26 million persons to be serviced Malc -
As many of us thought.......from today`s Daily Telegraph

chatting to my guy in Delhi last night ......... ALL buses in Delhi are now Electric and it's only men who pay, ALL women travel free as are the first 5 children you take on the bus with you ....... nothing about seats tho' ... think they may be a little superfluous tbh Malc -
and there's a plethora of those in the press right now Putin and Oligarchs, Musty Musks and his like . the *** Celebrities that promoted Elon's Cryptic Crypto fantasies ............. sorry I'll stop there, the list would be almost endless methinks just winding me-up a little I guess these Affluents who are merely just so much Effluent in Society Malc I'll shut up now eh !

and reading today's BP financial news that BP thinks Hydrogen is the motorists fuel of the future .............. well done BP ......... . let's get it out there and Toyota building Hydrogen powered vehicles for everyone and BP making it available at ALL their petrol stations nationwide Well done BP ..... there'll ALWAYS be enough petrol around to keep our old bangers going ........... including my 1932 Triumph Southern Cross Sports Tourer too 🥰 Malc -
the extra 4 minutes ( and slightly extra seconds ) at Half-Time, gave Kane the most MAGNIFICENT goal I thought WELL DONE England ..... keep those twinkle toes putting the ball right to the back of their net .......... France that is Malc

the " normal " E5 uplift in price is 6 or 7 pence / ltr .. how does this compare to the suggested additive cost per ltr of fuel ? Thanks Malc -
or Amayama or Rockauto ? ... LexusPartsDirect or similar ? who else might you have already approached ? Malc

walking to and getting on public transport might force you into using your own car ......... mine's a V8 4 ltr " beater " . beats most on the road for sure 😃 Malc -
it used to be Duckhams 20/50 . universally accepted and used whatever the car and climate in the UK Now I'm told, for some years, it's best to use a semi-synthetic oil in my Ls400 . due to engine wear and whatever else pertains . no mention of any specific make tho' Guess it's simply best to follow whatever the manual tells you these days ................ . all I do know it's got to be at a silly expensive price for sure Malc

likewise . who wears a suit these days ?? weekend away bags in fine leather are fine, gracious and very desirable but even the odd weekend away is becoming a rarity ........ you not been away since pre 2006 ? Malc

what was that and where's it going to end-up ? Getting stuck with silly stock, both from a poor value asset and asset financing costs, is a business's worst nightmare, whatever the business, in these challenging financial times It's a big lump financially to get stuck with methinks Malc

seems a bit of a financial stretch to buy additives to supplement fuel erratum . I'll keep to the suggested E5 methinks Malc -
in all fairness, I think he was comparing costs to my experiences over decades with my Ls400s 😇 Malc

Care and Quality . I every year get a message from two different tyre places knowing my MOT is due and asking if they can help . they both do MOTs .... Protyres in Canterbury and A2 Tyres on Sheppey .. never had servicing done by them, nor MOTs . just tyre supplies NOW that's service eh ! and jolly good Marketing too Malc

thanks for that . my indy also told me long back that any Saab convertible would probably be a moneypit too .... and the SC430 really doesn't float my boat ........ so I'll just open the sunroof and windows more on my Ls400 🤩 Malc

something along the lines of BP already starting to develop their own Hydrogen " cracking " facility somewhere in the north of England .... a good starting point to roll out UK wide to their BP branded petrol / fuel stations when appropriate methinks Malc -
Reading today that Toyota are creating a Hydrogen commercial vehicle building facility in the UK ......... somewhere ,,,,,,,,,,,, as they have hydrogen powered cars in fleet use with the UK Police Authorities around Heathrow etc ,,,,,,,,,, does this give me the feeling that more hydrogen cars / models are soon to be in the realm of UK purchasers ( soon being maybe 5 years ? ) clearly usurping EVs and evidencing some agreements with fuel providers to ensure refuelling capacity availability generally in the UK methinks Your thoughts ? Malc

the only Saab I ever had was N4PRO . a 9000CS ......... a superb simple and family car that i thought would last forever .... but then my first Ls400 came along always thought to buy another . as a spare as one does ...... maybe a convertible . what d'ya think ? Malc

Richard, which is the best, your most favourite Saab ? Malc

going to get this drone up MORE close and personal next time . a fine day, daylight, when the son-in-law can be around ... that's challenging in itself Problem is rainwater penetration can run from heaven knows where along all sorts of rivulets on other parts of the very angled roof and slants and gulleys . it's challenging for sure But the roofs been there for nigh on 400 years ( not the same tiles though, but these are quite ancient anyway ) and there's absolutely zero indication of tiles being cracked nor split nor the gulleys being other than normal functioning gulleys We'll find it for sure . fingers xd Malc

I have fold-up mirrors too .. by hand from outside and headlamp washers . ....a sponge and bucket for me, by hand .. old school technology for me eh ! 😃 reminds me, all this searching for leaks ( on another post ? ) ........ my son-in-law has a phone/camera on a small drone that we are using up in the sky to try to track an interminable leak on my back roof of the house that only penetrates when there's a strong stormy southerly wind with rain ....... still can't track it down with first attempt by drone .... and that's after the roofer guys tried to find the miscreant leak from both outside, up a sodding ladder, and from inside the loftspace ...... dastardly things these rain water penetrations eh ! Drones do have a domestic use outside of Russia warmongering it seems sorry I digress a little Malc

not in the slightest . nor more reliable, nor as quick and fast either ......... after all, I cannot drive at more than 30mph in most places, down to 20mph in many and neither greater than 70mph on the motorways .......... so I'll just tuck the odd £30/50/80/100/120k into my back pocket for that rainy day ............ do cars really cost that much these days . cor blimey .... wot a mountain to climb for those unfortunate enough not to own a Ls400 😇 Malc

Brave man, well done ......... just goes to show the 100k mile / 10 year programme to replace the radiator should have been adhered to by a prior owner to have probably avoided the issue Well done Malc
