  1. my " buttons " are bereft of any black at all mostly, just a grubby looking clearish plasticky effect sadly I'll find a permanent black marker pen to see if that's of any effect Malc
  2. that premium must be a record low in these straitened times for our poor insurers Malc
  3. looks a smart car but without the Reg No. one cannot check the MOT stuff ! Malc
  4. Steve, thinking about your upcoming purchase then ? I'd sure get the Dealer to replace all those Advisory Suspension issues over some years, on your target car purchase seeing above, the garage 10hrs to do 4 of the 10 ... is it ................ at UK Main Dealer prices that's £2k min labour charge alone ( gulp ! ) Take care eh ! Malc
  5. just thinking mine are all 4 bereft of most of the black too ....... might a simple black marker pen be a permanent and ok finish I wonder ? they are stand alone and not near anything to compare with ! Malc
  6. on a more simplistic note ............ when replacing my ordinary 12v battery I seemed to have used the Lexus - Toyota spares dept in Canterbury ..... OK it's not very often of course ...... BUT the OEM and actually Yuasa supplied Toyota battery was hardly more expensive than from anywhere else ............ and of course fits a treat 🙂 And I did various on-line comparative searches for pricing etc too Malc
  7. And if you specify and pay for a dedicated seat and it’s “ lost “ it’s unlikely you’d get reimbursement for your loss from anyone .... that’s not insurable 😂 Malc
  8. there's so much consolidation going on these days with flights sharing, carriers cancelling planes schedules to dump as many pax as possible onto the one.......... save fuel and save the planet eh ! no point flying with empty seats Malc
  9. I've often felt this to be a huge advantage with my Lexus when comparing turning, parking. manouvering etc with my Honda Legend which by comparison seems a trifle clumsy Malc
  10. I would make sure it's all Lexus OEM tho' as non OEM might have a short lifespan Good luck Malc
  11. hey just seen this on autoraider and its with the Sheffield Lexus Main Dealer for sale At that price you'd want a brand spanking new MOT with zero Advisories and ALL issues and preventative maintenance stuff done by them for sure TOGETHER WITH THE hybrid battery ( and the " ordinary " one too as that's a fortune££££ ) AND at least a 12 month warranty even tho' she's upcoming 16 years young Good luck, they must surely be keen to sell as it's such an old car to have in stock on their forecourt Malc
  12. I don't know but maybe a quick call to the Main Dealer might put you in the picture before you get too involved with all else ........ looks like some expensive issues upcoming for sure Good luck Malc
  13. I'm understanding the Road Tax levels are astronomic Malc
  14. press that small odd-ball oblong selector thingy just to the top of the selectors, the one that takes you out of gears etc .. can't remember it's name ... that might free-up summat that's " sticking " Happened to me once, stuck in gear and wouldn't move ! and i pressed that and all's been well since ..... some years back tho' Just a thought! Malc
  15. methinks there's going to be a lot less cars on the roads these coming months with the increasing cost of living pricing many motorists off the roads driving Only going to be us old codgers left with too much money and not knowing how to spend it driving for leisure and pleasure again . with less other traffic to contend with hence pricing reductions with insurance risks reducing maybe Malc
  16. wish wish wish ..... if only they did the world would be a better place and it's a well proven fact that politicians, in whom we trust, mostly aren't even " smart " people . and if they did question everything then they might actually be able to rule us poor old imbeciles ( by comparison, well me anyway ) with an ounce of sense and good knowledge ... which clearly they can't Jeez, I even had to ask today if I had my pneumonia jab ( sis-in-law just had hers ) ..... I couldn't remember . the surgery told me YES of course i had, why couldn't i remember that even . jeez, it was only back in 2002 🤑 ............ my mind's going eh ! NOW, back to Fuel Panic please don't tell Putin about the new link twixt Southend and Sheppey over / under the Thames ⚓ Malc

  19. hi and welcome to this forum There's other posts on plastic headlamp cleaning BUT I have recently been using a T-Cut product at £6.99 from Halfords .. on my Honda Legend ............ it's not a bad result but they do sell a much more expensive T-Cut product too which i haven't experienced My Ls400 has glass lenses thankfully Good luck with your way forward with the plastic lenses and above all, ENJOY you lovely car Malc
  20. if it were me I would keep BOTH ................. it's only money and you don't get pleasure from that unless you spend it on stuff you really really enjoy Malc
  21. for me probably my little Mazda 323f or maybe my Peugeot 205 ah NO, my Hillman Imp surely back new in 1969 Malc
  22. it was always thus .... put less junk in your boot to lighten the load to improve mpg take stuff off the roof chuck out excess passengers you know, just lightening the daily load to improve mpg then you can run your V8 with impunity knowing you're doing your bit to save the planet Malc
  23. Not sure I'd waste the petrol to get to Birmingham, especially to heckle the dumbos on show there Malc
  24. Sainsburys Hempstead Valley kent today E5 at 162.9. topped up to get hopefully 450/500 miles range without too much worry finding another charging spot 👍 Malc
  25. I much prefer the beauty and idyll of the magnificent Kent and Yorkshire countryside ...... the wonderful country house / hotels with simple British cuisine and I can get there in my Ls400 and definitely unworried by the chaos at airports ....... nor the worry of currency exchange rates Malc
