  1. The need for a rear seat passenger's needs just vanish ....... so few drivers of these cars have a rear seat passenger ever methinks ....... it's not your " average " family saloon needing space for lots of family to be carried around And the 5.0 ltr . well, my simple V8 4 Ltr Ls400 is quite quite responsive enough for me and probably most normal drivers eh ! Malc
  2. 30 bids now and at £3900 ....... it's a strange beast for sure Malc
  3. Best wishes ...... do return with summat less ambitious maybe ? Malc
  4. personally, if you think and " feel " the position to be a tad uncomfy then just don't trade into a Ls600 I also have this problem with my Ls400 ( immensely " just right " ) and my wonderful Honda Legend to which I just cannot get " quite right " seating, leg room space etc On a long journey the " not quite right " scenario will cause you some angst and non-comfyness Malc
  5. blimey, who'd have thought this could really be the problem ! Do you ever see a damn big blue balloon overhead and a F-16 jet fighter going past 🤣 Malc
  6. he has .... of course Malc
  7. Bill . we hope sincerely that your daughter gets a good car with all these issues behind her . hopefully at 14 years young the prior owner would have spent all that's needed on her Good luck and our very best wishes for an economic outcome Malc
  8. that's if you wanted a Mk4 that is . shame they've hidden the Reg No. tho Malc
  9. OK I now understand better . some years ago I had exactly this problem in a local car park with another car AND it was the signal from a close by MAST that was causing me these problems ..... is it something like that possibly ? Malc
  10. no one needs cars really . Around the World in 80 Days comes to mind and the new trials with that concept taking place from China ........ over Alaska, USA mid-west and Costa Rica too ? The Alaska one was a " car " they thought, attached to one of their balloons ....... wot a way to travel ......... stunning scenery too ... then another big BANG .... from the Americans Maybe the ultimate trials in Hydrogen Power now taking place ??? Malc
  11. Best wishes with your search ....... do keep us posted on developments Malc
  12. is it time to refer to a competent Auto Electrician maybe ? unless Steve or someone with a good knowledge of these beautiful cars can think of summat else ! Malc
  13. and there we are .. didn't know the Ls430 was " self-healing " like the Ls400 . but hey, you now have won that battle well done Malc
  14. needs scrapping then .... . not worth messing around with ..... it's a BMW NOT ......... a brilliant Lexus Malc
  15. the problem might be with the main battery in the engine compartment .......... the keys need to read from that too Malc
  16. Really, Argos don't sell them these days . hang-on a week or two and Sainsbury's might be selling them in mainstream stores too 😅 Malc
  17. then like most markets.......... . it eventually goes " BANG " Malc
  18. do Argos sell those tooooooo ? Malc
  19. Methinks this is a bloody cheek for Lexus to charge for this essential facility in any car let alone a super dooper Lexus ...........and for ordinary mortals driving ordinary Lexii ........... I use Google maps for free on my IPhone ........... and as above it's 24/7 updated AND ............. I have RAC cover that includes wife/mistress/partner and me and her driving ANY car ( well either of our 2 anyway ) and I believe even covers if one of us is a passenger in any car that breaks down ......... that car is RAC covered at that time Oh, and my Full Breakdown etc and Overseas cover is FREE ... coz I've been a Member for ever now, well, in excess of 50 years ............not a bad loyalty bonus eh ! BUT you have to be quite ancient to get that bonus Malc
  20. OR, a bit drastic ....... sacrifice the existing door card IF you can get a replacement from a breakers yard maybe ! Malc
  21. the numerous Dust Covers . just had one front one done on my Ls400 ............. £40 cash all-up . and maybe last another 27 years 243k miles ...... i wish eh ! A buddy had a 1999 V reg V8 Jag . beautiful car which he swapped for a brand new diesel Range Rover thingy . his son kept the Jag as he couldn't bear to see it just " go " It's still going well .... this car suffered stupidly from frequent battery failures and my buddy was just fed-up with all that happening at inauspicious moments ............ of course His son, like his dad, has plenty of spondoolies to keep a luxury motor or two on the road ... an old V8 Jag is NOT for the faint hearted however My cousin had an " ordinary " X reg Jag saloon that he bought brand new as his retirement pressie to himself BUT a couple of years ago it had to go . a rust-heap developing . he now runs an Audi ............. wouldn't listen to me to buy a Lexus Malc
  22. I'll check around thanks Malc
  23. he's thinking the Dust Covers relate to the units they're ( not now ) protecting having failed ........ how dopey ! and that's most of the actual Fails . there's lots tho admittedly and the dust covers might cost say £30 each fitted . not a " killer " to keep this quite rare V8 Jag on the road methinks Your thoughts ? Malc
  24. sorry, got this wrong . it's a NINJA Malc
