The necessary, and any tyre quality does not always reflect the best experience when driving ...... my Honda legend came with Pirelli tyres from new and jeez, so glad when I changed them for Falkens ....... a Budget tyre ? The Pirellis gave such hard and harsh driving experience, the Falkens are a zillion times more comfy. and quite inexpensive comparatively at the time AND my donkeys years of Falkens on my Ls400 have shown me just how good they actually are in practice . and as a budget tyre ? Malc

Wow Mikael ........ they're getting quite rare here now too . been quite a long while since I've seen another Ls400 on the road . I used to see one or two locally a couple of years back . but not anymore .... but i do meet a member here for local coffee now and then and he has TWO .......... greedy or what 🤣 Mine's full of dings and dents, scuffs and what have you, she's used every day as both a runabout and my " proper " car for any long runs, anywhere, but not been on many of those recently ........ but she's generally more or less ok mechanically and I'll always get her " fixed " to keep her MOT'd and running fine ....... guess she'll see me out for another dozen years or so ( hopes ) and double her existing odo miles of @245k ✌️ Norma, with the right advice ( from Steve hopefully ) you'll find a good home at a sensible value, for yours Best wishes Malc

My first and only replacement alternator was at about 205k miles I think ! a few years ago now ! My pas was ok and it's all back to normal ..... fingers xd Malc

Yesterday a little disconcerting . happily driving along, quite normal, no rain or owt like that ...... . going for morning coffee and cake ..... and the dash lights just vanish, all goes black . indicators too . BUT the cigarette lighter / phone charger was still working ok at the front Power steering still working too ....... parked up and then re-started her and all ok .... tried it a few times and still all now ok ....... is it just old aged electrics taking their toll one wonders ! Malc

But nearly 2 years between the last servicing tho' . albeit maybe covid related ........ and the original owner soon stopped with the Lexus servicing ........ nevertheless a fine looking specimen . amazing wot a little spit 'n polish will do to a car that you want to see in it's best light ! I'm sure it will be fine for the new owner 🤣 😇 ... pray a little tho' Malc

now then guys . we are aware that running cars is but a tiny tiny element in the need to reduce emissions ...... you're all getting very uppity about e-fuels and non, and now the mention of older cars running on leaded fuel substitutes .. and that really is the norm and tiny, coz there are so few left . as will be the case with " ordinary " petrol fuelled cars too come 2035 NOW the cows generate some 15% of the unwanted CO2 stuff globally so why not find a way to " eat-up " all that cow generated CO2 by fuelling it into another generation of vehicle propulsion ? FANTASY maybe, but maybe not . it just takes some weird thinking scientist to develop the notion into reality . bit like the invention of the Hydrogen Combustion Engine maybe who'd have thought ! ....... now then, where's my Lexus Ls700 and wot's it going to be run on ? never have done . when i bought her in 2011 she had Full Lexus Service History and ne'er seen a Main Dealer since My indy looked after her well and now he's " retired " I've found an alternative that's just learning the ropes with the Ls400 ... mine ... so let's hope and pray we get to old age together eh ! just nigh 245k miles now but will be possibly 365k by 2035 .......... next cambelt and waterump change due about 305 k miles 😉 Malc

Germany and Italy blocks ICEV bans for 2035 This is simply the header for this Post It's done, normal service will resume ........... we can all go buy our V8s petrol head cars in 2035 ✌️ No need to worry about hydrogen power, nor EV power either . irrelevance or not ... PETROL is here to stay ( albeit E- focussed petrol, whatever that might be by 2035 ! ) If I can't run my Ls400 at that time I shan't worry too much about it ...... there'll be some sooper duper V8 alternatives for me to invest in for my future .......... even tho' I'll just be 85 then ! BUT my Ls400 will be 40 years young and MOT and ULEZ Exempt I believe 🤩 Malc

my Honda Legend they tell me is compliant at delivery, September 2006 brand new car, so your 2007 car must surely be ok too .. rely on what you've already discovered and Chill ......... top up with a decaff coffee if necessary ..... the world can get brighter by the day ! Malc
