  1. This is surely the auxillary belt, old style fan belt ? and these look jolly expensive too compared to that which an independent would be charging AND getting the parts from , say maybe LexusPartsDirect ( I might have this totally wrong as i haven't checked their prices ) BUT you're in the hands of whoever's doing the job Also you don't mention spark plugs ........... that's a huge'ish job in itself if they need changing 8 x plugs and at least 1.5 hrs labour ? Good luck Malc
  2. ........... and if I was ever to get a replacement car I would always carry a spare wheel of some style AND a jack My son-in-law out with the family the other weekend in his Arbath hit a pothole and had to call the RAC to get them, eventually, to find an open garage selling tyres that weekend day ...... took many many hours from the family day out to fix the problem and shed loads of £££££ .. his tube of instant tyre fix foam wasn't going to sort out the issue Motto ... whatever space you have, do indeed get a spare wheel and a jack Malc
  3. locally here, especially yesterday out on a sunshine country road tour . came across a few 4 Way Traffic light controlled roadworks at junctions etc . nay a workman in sight tho' sadly AND I'm quite convinced it's a new highway safety measure, leaving road mending stuff in place for ages, to bring speed down and engage with much needed Road safety Traffic Qs and Roadworks impeding traffic flow are simply doing a great job in enhancing Road Safety Malc
  4. a 48mpg sewing machine BUT it's Left hand driving so that's not even a starter 🥶 rear engined bit like my wondrous Hillman Imp back in 1969 🤩 and BMW stole the Lexus brand logo back then 😇 Malc
  5. these insurers brokers simply make it all up as they go along .............. I've been assured many years running that because i park my cars on the road outside my home, that REDUCES the cost of cover ....... heaven alone knows eh ! Malc
  6. blimey, if we was in Holland i would say it's all absolutely Double Dutch to me 🤣 Malc
  7. and my Ls700 will have a RR Hydrogen Power engine fitted ? Malc
  8. aha, I have to park my cars in the road .... not so easy as my partner just taking a peek 🤩 or i could drive to the local tesco carpark and use their wall .... jeez, my partner's got eyes to see ok ... let's keep it simple Malc
  9. this sounds the simplest solution . rarely go inside the sales area these days with " Pay at pump " . but I shall next time Thanks for this Malc
  10. blimey, surely it's simpler to ask absolutely anyone passing by to take a look ! 😉 Malc
  11. my nephews hubby has a Polestar but i have no idea of the model nor it's cost , rarely see them as they live in deepest darkest Hampshire 😅 I think money's no object for them ........ . he's a Consultant heart surgeon ............. and he would invariably have the best and with 2 kids to runabout too I've never seen another Poleastar tho, to my knowledge Malc
  12. I bought at auction once, for my old car sales business, by mistake really, a simply smashing Volvo T5 estate for not much ££££ .... had intended to buy an ordinary Volvo estate of that ilk but bought inadvertently and drove home the simply fabulous T5 wondrous and happy very very quick and fast car too . sold almost immediately at, of course, a handsome profit 🤩 Malc
  13. nope, I've always seemingly had another person, even as competent as me, alongside to help and advise 🤩 Malc
  14. Eric, you have stated that certain airlines are prohibiting pilots from flying please tell me which are these specific airlines you refer to Thanks Malc I really would like to know PLEASE which airlines these are ................ PLEASE . it's very important to me even if to no one else I don't understand why you're not able to tell me
  15. really ??? didn't realise the rear seats were heated ............ don't seem to have an appropriate switch for them whatever, well, not on my Mk3 1995 car Anyway, does anyone ever have rear seat passengers 🤫 Malc
  16. that's what Mercedes told him too Malc
  17. you need someone to tell you if it's working when you press the pedal tho 😅 Malc
  18. strange you say this .. many moons ago ( 1990's ) my car sales business partner's dad had a new Mercedes with NO DIPSTICK to check the level . seemed a little disconcerting at the time . and even now i would say BUT is that typical of a modern car now ? Malc
  19. Long term Ls400 owner .......... 25 years or so ....... I've always wanted a good saloon car tbh AND a 2006 Honda Legend owner for about 7 years now to which we migrated from a Mazda 323f ( wot a wizz of a brilliant little sporty car that was eh ! ) If I needed an estate type car I would go for a Honda possibly SUVs cause me limbo probs getting in and out, up, ........... but not down 😆 Malc
  20. on the Ls400 that specific red light often just indicates a Stop Bulb has blown ........ you might be lucky Malc
  21. why should it be a conspiracy ? just let me know please Thank you Malc
  22. toffee-pie please tell me which are these specific airlines you refer to thanks Malc
  23. Remembering Lexus seemed to want an All Day job rate BUT many now only charge a fraction of that coz no-one can afford it anymore ........... I'd have thought maybe £6-800 depending who does it for you ......... including the belt and waterpump of course Malc
  24. I remember a garage by Castle May ..... how far's that from you 😃 Malc
