my local'ish Tesco E10 is at 138.9p plus points of course . about 1p a ltr ? Gillingham Kent The other local Tesco's pricing is 148.9p to match the local cartel of BP and Morrisons .... crooks the lot of 'em eh ! Malc

have you been to Cornwall recently ?? . the roads into and out are simply ATROCIOUS ..... some feign at road highway improvements . just creates total traffic gridlock and chaos, especially out of season ( whatever that is ) Malc

So we just have to use some of this Rare Earth stuff anyway and there’s no point whingeing and whining about it The alternative is zero electric energy for our home - house and industrial needs and that’s a nonsense scenario Bit like moaning about eating the last mars bar in the pack 😄 Malc

I sure hadn't realised there was a need for Rare Earth materials to build a windfarm or a tidal barrier . thought they would be constructed from natural materials and steel and maybe concrete or natural stone etc .. the storage of the electricity produced might of course require some products , and i know not what ........ might be like a solar panel farm somewhere ........ but those " rare " materials would be maybe common and easy and safe to obtain Maybe the normal stuff we would use to power-up our usual capacity for home and industrial use and NOT for vehicle running ( apart from home plug=in EVs ) Please enlighten us ! there's a glimmer of hope ...... in early times, had your car been serviced by Lexus ( as is likely ? ) the car just might have the original computerised service log with Lexus ( at the Centre ? ) and if so that might reveal summat useful 🤔 Malc

I think I'm about to be paying for a brand new car in Delhi, a 7 seater tho' Trying to convince my guy there, who's car it will be, business use and of course, for his family and his driver .......... to look at any Lexus offering there might be . if any .. I'll let you know as it all unfolds Prices of brand new cars there look amazingly inexpensive compared to here Malc

well, they haven't bothered to reply to my email asking about the wheels and tyres ....... so guess they really aren't that interested to sell it AND / OR have incompetent sales people running the business .............. and if that's their attitude towards possible customers then I really don't want to be the one on the end of any issues that may arise from buying a car from these people Malc

Excellent logic but WHY would one ever wish or need to get under the car ? To look at the pretty construction foibles, to check everything is still in order OR MAYBE to, heaven forfend, think about crawling underneath to attempt to do some work on your beloved beast ..... if you daren't leave it to your local garage or whomsoever to do that greasy rag bit of car ownership 😅 Well done anyway . it's always challenging to know what it might be one needs for a pressie Malc

ME TOO being made redundant from NatWest I bought my Vx Carlton for peanuts as my ex company car and ran that for ages . to about 215k miles actually .. brilliant car back in the early 90's .... then as an afterthought and to stave off boredom, my time with a local 2ndhand car sales business took root and I thoroughly enjoyed that time too Never understanding why someone would ever want to p/ex their brilliant used car for another off my forecourt, but hey, people will always want to spend their money on cars We then bought in a used brilliant Ls400 J54DAP thinking to sell it to a local astute business guy . a renowned Romney Marsh turf grower ........ Anyway, he bought a Mercedes from us instead and we were left with this supposed gaz guzzler which, coz of the petrol world mayhem at that time meant it was going to sit on our forecourt for ever and a day . or straight down to the auction lot to offload Thankfully we kept her in stock and I decided to use her and wow, wot an amazing car experience And as you all know, my very first Ls400, which I pensioned off at 186 k ?? and then bought my next one from a multi used car marque dealer in Windsor and following her write-off replaced her with the Ls400 I now have ( from a member on here at that time too ) ......... now some 23 years and 250k miles probably with an Ls400 hahahahaha, the new yet to be created Ls700 hydrogen might be my next foray into car spending mode 🤣 Malc

maybe there's an official sticker near the engine somewhere advising when it was last done etc ? If not and a prior owner gives you info you can trust, then well, it's all down to you Cambelt going pop will just destroy the engine ............ reading many years ago that the " Bang " point for a Ls400 cambelt was 150k miles Malc

I think touring around europe in times past, good simple constant motoring at steady and often motorway type speeds ... my oldie V8 4Ltr Ls400 looked to be just in excess of 500 mp/tank Malc
