Multi storey carparks in danger of collapse.
Malc1 replied to DavidCM's topic in Lexus General Discussions
was reading a little while back that the Planning Rules even today allow for a car parking space to be the dimensions of a 1930's model ........ narrow by comparison to a current SUV or even a simple Lexus . so whoever builds car parks nowadays, and indeed draw the lines in open air car parks, is quite legit to make them narrow Sad i know but there we are ......... Gang, why are you being so ridiculously obtuse about all this ? it's quite unbelievable really for a grown-up 🤣 Give me your postcode and i might be able to send you a google map link to your nearest BP garage that will probably have a Hydrogen pump when the BP production is forthcoming OR indeed you might be able to savour that directly from google maps . you know, search for " my local BP garage " style of searching .... that will indubitably assist you in your endeavours 🤩 Happy Hunting Gang Malc -
LC500 V8s back to mid £40k by end of year?
Malc1 replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Jeez ...... surely no one's bitching about Road Tax when they're spending £40k + on a car .......... go buy a 40 year old classic of some sort for that same money, or considerably more, and the road tax and MOT needs vanish Malc -

Oh my . mine's a Bentley S3 . but roadside parking ain't that sensible, especially with my next door neighbour and another just along a bit have their own Bentleys parked roadside too ...... someone might think we're worth burgling 😅 Malc -
Hydrogen (H2) started before and is working now.

a short while back i did look at the Hydrogen Mirai stuff and read that Toyota will NOT sell you one of these but only lease it .............. maybe they want to keep a good hold on all these innovative cars and actually take full responsibility if there's 'owt to go wrong ....... and of course to get the cars back at " end of life " whatever Really interesting to see how this all unfolds, especially with the BP UK forecourt Hydrogen pump roll-out at some stage upcoming ..... but I'm thinking this will possibly be a short few years hence eh ! 😉 Then I can travel the length and breadth of this wonderful Nation and have no fear to refuel my Lexus Ls700 🤩 Malc -

Gang hi, Logistics are simply that BP has an existing estate of some 1200+ forecourts around the UK ..... and I'm thinking BP knows a little more about it's own business than your Google searching will ever reveal ......... I did say that I read all this from my usual daily perusal of the BP stockmarket stuff ........... Maybe BP hasn't a clue as to what it's doing eh ! 🤣 Best wishes Gang Malc -

wow that sounds brilliant . so it will be in English throughout ( well American anyway ) BUT sadly a left hooker ... I'd be wanting the English language on everything, as it will surely be with the USA offering, BUT of course the original Japanese right hand drive Then I can re-badge her with Lexus logos 🤩 wonder what the price might be for the " sedan " ? I think the Trade will want anything that they can make a profit with .......... and offer other's traders cars if they can do a deal and make a little ££££ It's the money men, the backers that control the prices ultimately ........ and that hinges on perspective of the UK economy and inflation and purchasing power for that segment of society the trade thinks it should be targetting ... and interest rates of course . where's it better to store your money . often in used cars for sure . the eventual sale effort and price is a microcosm of the above methinks 🤔 Malc -

a Conspiracy theory by BP of course ....... developing Hydrogen Power in the north of England for roll-out to it's forecourt estate in the UK of 1200+ bases . and available for other forecourt owners to sell too .... like Asda Sainsbury Morrison and Tesco . all conspiratorial theorists no doubt Gang . damn the lot of 'em, burn 'em at the stake ........ oh no, that's no good, that's not going to be a " green " way to get rid of 'em .......... burning that tree stake and reducing the leaf power of carbon eating in the process . no no no, don't burn anyone .......... it's not terribly efficient ...... no no no, for heavens sake, use the grain to make whisky, brandy, gin, vodka whatever and then drink ourselves to death ............... on a park bench somewhere watching the autumnal leaves falling with the weight of their carbon absorption .. a pretty sight for sure 😉 Malc -
. and the european river cruises these businesses are trying to sell . with not much nor really enough water in the rivers to make a holiday trip sensible doing that sort of adventure ............. best to fly somewhere and eat up the air miles on one of the new fandangled aircraft they're developing that are going to be " green " powered .......... ( elsatic bands anyone 😅 ) ........... at least the western world seems to be trying to ameliorate some of the excesses of " bad " fuel It's jolly good dear old BP are making sensible huge profits to be able to develop all their ( and the world's ) green energy offerings AND to pay those huge taxes to keep the coffers of the UK solvent ......... that's one good thing, probably the only good thing that's come out of the Kremlin's dastardly war mongering . it's pushed the price of oil thru the roof and given the likes of BP the power and the need and the Will to bestow the UK exchequer with copious quantities of ££££ Now then, what's the effect of the Russian war mongering on the Climate . .............. any best guesses ? Malc

as in the present and past methinks ............... LPG was and still is an ideal for many ........ Hybrids and Petrol and Diesels and now just EVs and shortly to be Hydrogen powered cars and trucks and buses ........ there is of course just most of the world's terrain where rugged vehicles will be the " norm " and diesel and petrol will remain to the fore . whatever the Conspirators might be thinking and the Green Brigade might be wishing for . ............ the world unleashed on motor transport some aeons back and horse and mule conveyancing really is, in most parts, a thing of the past BUT . if you ever go to Delhi you will see, amongst the norm of utter chaos and traffic congestion, the occasional elephant, camel, horse and mule transport ...... let alone the runners physically moving people in their cycle people carriers and with whole family's aboard their motorbike whatever ..... that's the reality of transport today and tomorrow too I'll wager ... it's called Life 🤩 And the majority of the world's Peoples really don't care a monkey's about Conspirators and Green Brigade .. they've got lives to live and get by with ! Malc

gawd alone knows ............ BluePrint is very good BUT the UCA only lasted 45k miles for me . now some would say that's quite acceptable, and indeed a lifetime for many owners ........... but it's not OEM and to me, gave rise to a premature and utter hopeless failure 😉 It's all in the eye of the beholder methinks ! . and the available bank balance at that time maybe Malc

that link is some 9 months old BUT I read the daily online BP stockmarket highlights which from time to time mention their Hydrogen progress ✌️ Malc

Virgins stuff only . surely 😇 Malc

that was a brilliant price for sure......... mine cost £££ lots ( can't remember now ) BUT what i do remember is they arrived ( from Amayama ). I bought a pair . and each individually wrapped and stamped Toyota and penned in indelible ink on the plastic packaging was on one, " left" and on the other, " right "............. seemed identical to me tho' 😇 Malc

how wrong can you be .. i remember aeons ago when i first joined this forum, and long before H2 was thought about too .... ........ the Ls400 engine had been approved by the USA Fed whatever, as suitable for use in aircraft too 🤩 Malc -

memory tells me the original Mk1 had 15" wheels and brakes / tyres too AND those wheels had just ONE spoke less than on the Mk2 and Mk3 16" wheels too ..... otherwise my memory has failed 😅 Must have been a lovely day out for sure 🤩 Malc -
These are truly amazing cars . mine's on 245k and after nigh on 12 years having bought her at 123k miles from a Member on here ........... surely yours had some suspension / steering replacements over the years ? Have you any service records, MOT Advisories you may impart ? Mine's a Mk3 . but i did have a Mk2 and a Mk1 prior . and over some 25 years and qtr million miles too . just AMAZING cars tbh My Mk1 I had new front stuff at about 125k miles long way back and now my Mk3 it's all done, having started at about 145k miles with the front N/side and a BluePrint replacement which only lasted about 45k miles . all the rest done at about 200k miles including replacing the " new " Blueprint one too I heard the front N/side just go a slight " clunk " when I was motoring around the Dolomites, stopped and couldn't see anything untoward and she drove fine too . got back and it was changed . for the comparatively duff BluePrint one Look after yours and she could last you for donkeys years tbh . I've not read of any poly bush success stories either . also make sure the cam belt, pulleys etc and waterpump are changed at 10 years / 100k miles or so . it's a very very big all day job tho' .. you possibly won't do it twice eh ! otherwise just simple regular annual maintenance and once in a lifetime big stuff hopefully Tell us more . if you wish Malc

My earlier simple experience, many years back, of having purchased this stuff and similar is that the Lexus price is horrendous and the Amayama price ( of original and Toyota stamped product ) worked out about 50% of that when including actual unit price + carriage + Import Duty + vat + a small paperwork handling charge ........ £250 might be a little wishful thinking tho ! 🤑 I have read ( I think here somewhere ) that someone might have attempted poly bushing stuff but might have eventually reverted to a full replacement unit ............. What's your mileage etc ? it's always interesting to know ..... and of course, at the price of all this serious stuff you might wish to wait until there's an MOT Advisory before the big bucks start to get spent ... in my experience original units on the car might last for upwards of 150k miles before failure ............... driving style of course possibly has a bearing 😅 Malc
