  1. He's simply whingeing and whining that the H2 refuelling pumps can't supply enuf fuel to refill H2 powered cars , ugh ! talk to BP etc about the supply issues to the pumps and storage issues on-going ............ and there's not enuf H2 refuelling pumps . wow, we know that for sure ........ there weren't enough petrol stations in the 1890's either I guess AND the Mirai only has a range on refill of 650 kms ..... wot's the guy thinking .......... dopey video, sorry .. get someone who's wanting to see the positive signs eh ! Malc
  2. Well done getting them out .......... now to get them back in ok 🙃 Malc
  3. it's as simple as the Economy and Spare ££££ I'm thinking Older cars need someone who actually wants one and most older guys who wanted one now have it, satiated their thirst for the Ls430 luxury and all that goodness £2.5 / 4k is often, well sometimes, a drop in the ocean for us older guys reading this Forum and having that interest AND I fear that those with pre ULEZ acceptable cars might have trouble now with Herr Khan extending his cash gobbling remit much further around ............ Many factors ..... stretched ££££ economies and ULEZ being the most impact maybe ................ and many have a ULEZ ok car AND their luxury pre ULEZ steeds too these days Good luck with the sale, there'll be someone out there OR as you suggest, just use her as a local runaround I know my Ls400 is an everyday car, as always and of course now too, and for any trip absolutely anywhere, she's brilliant .......... on 245k miles .... and the, our Honda Legend which is ULEZ ok will suffice for our London visits upcoming this August Malc
  4. too much ouzo really 😅 Malc
  5. is that the AA ? or whoever, then just pick up the phone and ask maybe ! Malc
  6. if you're a member of the AA / RAC whatever then I'm sure they will know instantly Malc
  7. Robert . is this the first issue you've had with your Ls600 ? and over how long have you had her please ? There's many on here look in awe at the beauty of the Ls600, and indeed one or two have had brilliant relationships with them BUT, oh dear, when they go wrong then it seems as tho' their lives are expensively, hopelessly, impaired ..... hope yours is summat trifling to sort out eh ! Some of us, like me, would like one but when seeing tales like your emerge just put us on tender hooks and the Ls600 acquisition on that backburner Malc
  8. buying OEM parts from Amayama and Rockauto is often ££££ better than from the Lexus Main Dealer we find joro Malc what car is it btw ?
  9. Good luck with your investigations coz this forum is really specific to the uk and a general mindset and experience with comparative tiny uk ownership ……. of these wonderful cars in the diverse uk terrain and climate that is maybe miles away from that of left-handed global users ……. USA Canada Europe generally where the majority of these cars might be discovered outside of Japan good luck Malc
  10. And I doubt very much you’d find a left hand drive Ls of any sort in the uk for sale …… imported from Japan of course where they are right handed same as uk
  11. joro, where are you then ? is there an import duty to pay if you source an older car from the UK ? Malc
  12. I'm thinking you might be best off buying the Ls430 that max's your budget provided you ensure all is well with the car Take someone along who can grovel underneath to check for rust and good at understanding the mechanics . especially the MOT Advisories and service records 20.000euros would be totally bonkers to spend on an old " banger " to bring the body and underside and interior up to near new methinks Malc
  13. I've lived close by the sea with all 3 of my Ls400s over 20+ years and 250k miles and I've never taken any precautions to delay the onset of rust from new . whether prior owners had I doubt it tbh .... sometimes one's lucky, other times it's just goddam bad luck how the car has left the factory Our Honda Legend at 150k miles and 17 years young doesn't seem to have any rust either, nor rust protection apart from what it started life with from the factory .......... The Ls400 has a S/S exhaust and generally is infallible and will outlast the car ...... well, apart from the front end which isn't s/s and will need replacing . like mine did this last year 🙄 Malc
  14. I think he's recommending a Ls400 tbh 🤩 ...... Toyota Mirai is good but clearly NOT up to his expectations with comfort and interior space etc .. oh, a great whinger and moaner for sure 😇 Malc
  15. Rust, just keep on top of it at each and every service and MOT time ........... it's a car, they rust, it's metal, it rusts ....... and our cars are amazingly ancient for a " modern day " car ............. so just make sure when you buy one it's looking as rust free as it can be and get someone with professionalism to check it over from time to time .. it's metal and it's a car .. they rarely last forever ... not even a Lexus 🤔 Good hunting Malc
  16. Eire is wonderful to go touring in a Ls Malc
  17. ..... delayed catastrophic reaction . ..... be warned, don't follow this fella's advice 🤣 Malc
  18. I think Gen's post might be your best thoughts going forward Most other Ls owners never get around to wanting to change their cars .. take me for instance, 25 yrs with a ( my third ) Ls400 and some 250k miles under my belt I think and could never think why I would want to change ( sideways maybe ) to a different Ls style Your comparison of knowledge from one specific owner will be very difficult to find methinks God luck anyway Malc
  19. I've always fancied the Amazon but blimey, those prices now ! Malc
  20. younger . who me ........🤣 cars are super and over-tecced methinks . the Mk3 Ls400 is probably the last of the " simple " cars with then modern tecc ..... just look at the cost of repairing the steering rake, in and out, up and down, a couple of £ 000's on most cars these days BUT the Mk3 is a simple steel washer and some few minutes of old fashioned graft . and that's good for another 250k miles too I'll wager Indeed, I'm thinking to get myself a 1983 summat or other to avoid the London extended ULEZ this August .......... wish there was a Lexus of that ilk, I'd be on it like a shot Malc
  21. Nick hi ............... don't see why you shouldn't have a Ls430. or better still a Ls400 as your everyday driver ............ very robust in most instances and mine has travelled o'er glen and trossach and much of Skye too over the years holidaying in beautiful Scotland . zipping along M-Ways at max speed limits and sauntering across beautiful countryside finding outta the way villages and towns Ls400 as an everyday driver . that's the way I am and have been for decades too . and hopefully will so continue Malc
  22. CV . I'm a little superfluous to this argument BUT we are discussing Scottish regimes and we all know, it's been proven, that they really are a law unto themselves and if Nic Sturgeon had one it would of course be EXEMPT as would the £100k motorhome paid for by the Scottish people, well the SNP Party faithful, on her Mum-in-Laws driveway Suggest you don't move north with this car nor travel the length and breadth of that wonderfully beautiful Scottish nation, unless of course you avoid the cities where Scot ULEZ applies SULEZ or SLEZ could be an anagram for ???? ...................... answers on a postcard or even here please 😅 Malc
