Mert hi and welcome to the LOC . sorry you've hit upon a snag . might be lucky and someone here with a Ls430 might be able to help ! What's the regn by the way . is it a first or 2nd generation Ls430 ? I have no discernible advice to offer sadly Good Luck with it all Mine on the Ls400 stopped working about a month after I bought her some 12 years back . reading the issues with re-charging and replacing it all I just decided to open windows at the appropriate times 😥 . the cost even then of fixing it seemed disproportionate to the price I paid for the car ..... £1400 ....and I've now doubled the mileage to 246k miles too ✌️ wot wondrous cars these are eh ! Which. Supermarket petrol quality: what you need to know
Malc1 replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus General Discussions
So we need to read the other Forum Header Titles about the petrol delivery drivers mix and match fuel deliveries to all and sundry ……. Or have I misread those posts too ? Misinterpreted what’s actually going on at pump tank delivery ? I’ve clearly got it wrong that mfg supply fuel to all and sundry ! Thanks for clarifying BUT the Asda guys co-own their fuel stations and do supply petrol to not just Asda but to ……… ?? Anyone know ?? or have I misunderstood that too 🥵 Thanks Malc -

OMG. MFG provide fuel at the following petrol stations BP. SHELL ESSO JET. TEXACO and MURCO hahahaha and their owner CDB also owns MORRISONS so there’s bugger-all difference in these outlets fuels then 😂 Malc -

I'm not sure they care one jot ....... it's just freebie publicity for them and some of this theorising about specialty fuels with BP Shell etc . my local BP garage recently changed to Shell and with the change went the MFG logos on the carwashes I'm sure MFG provided that BP station with fuel . are MFG Morrisons maybe / Asda or which, I'm never sure these days ........... !!! Selling LS430

I think black is a very rare colour in anything to do with an Ls …….. interior and exterior life can often be worth a slight compromise 🤔 Malc -
and simply everyone, lest one forgets .. most people in the UK have zero ability to recharge a battery at Home . lots of terraced homes and apartments with no ability to develop the battery charging infrastructure to existing homes ......... these people, like me, will always need to refill my car at a proper, quick, simple and easy refuelling place . like a petrol station, where it takes but a few minutes . and where the Hydrogen pumps will be This thread is styled .. HYDROGEN FUEL ROLLOUT ,,,,,,,,,,,, .. and I reckon that I'll be availing myself of the usual refuelling mode at a petrol station selling Hydrogen gas, a bit like diesel and LPG say ! Roll On Hydrogen Fuel asap ......... they did say it's not that huge a challenge to change an existing combustion engine to hydrogen power didn't they somewhere in this looooong dialogue AND after all, there's great chunks of our world where one needs a petrol or diesel mode to actually get around and where EVs won't " go " ........... and a refill with Hydrogen power will Malc

I too always get my ( trusted ) service and MOT guy to pontificate on the likely rust issues ……. There don’t seem to be any so far, touch wood, just this blooming rust developing on my wheel arch these past couple of years …… and I just know the moment it’s sorted ( it can be they tell me ) some buggers going to zap me and I know it takes very little to write a car off these days ……. Especially our old and trusted steeds …….. I’m already on Cat N from some years back …… just a simple rear door, quite small, easily sorted bash ….. wrote her off …… and I just kept her going, of course We’re on “ borrowed time” with these old gals methinks 😎 Malc

Wondering if the car has been subjected to flooding immersion at some stage 🤔 seeing the possible upcoming value of these cars might it be possible to consider investing a further £2/3k into professional welding etc maybe ? that’s if one had that spare cash …… or she goes, sadly to the Breakers Sad for you 🥵 Malc

your progress reports are a world of wisdom for us all ✌️ Malc -
Gang yep. You can count them on the fingers of your two hands today it seems ……. Tomorrow you’ll get better use from your toes too hopefully as I said before “ from little acorns grow “ 😄 Malc

Josh . so sorry to hear this dreadful news I would personally go to the person you bought the car from some 1800 miles ago and also the servicing people and the prior MOT garage ....... an inquisition maybe called for . a threat to advise the DVLA MOT people of possible " fraud " re the prior MOT and also maybe the police if the car was sold to you by a garage or even a car trader in cahoots, or even not, with that MOT station ! ..... you paid over £1000 for the car, the limit below which no-one's going to take much interest legally I fear Maybe you're a member of the RAC or AA and can enquire of their free legal advice ! ............ just some thoughts that might hep in your decision making Malc

this thread has at least aired the problems and highlighted some of the benefits of hydrogen power and it's competitiveness in vehicle ( and possibly air ) propulsion and the carbon footprint issues of not just hydrogen but also all else ....... so it has been a useful thread and enlightened these many readers here .... incongruously too of the detrimentality of EVs and their production methods and running which, had we just accepted what we are being told by Musk and global Govts. that all would be solved by going Ev'wise 🥶 Horses for courses they say, well, the old nag hitching up alongside the erstwhile motor car really wasn't too bad a mode of transport .. and indeed is often the means to our graves with horse drawn limousines / hearses to finally put us all in our place ! Methinks hydrogen power is here to stay and the roll-out for us all could be sooner than many expect ✌️ Malc

But probably very economic on petrol 🥵 …… and who really cares ……. Jeez my partner will only ever put max £30 fuel in her Honda …… I, like today, just get so fed up and fill it up …. £87.42 ? But at least we’ll get places and back rather than worrying about “ only 32 miles of fuel left “ syndrome I get erked quite easily these days 😂 Malc

Welcome to this forum . piccys are always good to see Malc

from little acorns eh ! Malc as an aside was reading this morning that EV owners could be facing a Govt, effective " pothole " tax coz of the excessive damage done thru' the inordinate battery weight issues ........ 🤣
