  1. and they seem to show red for congestion and tell you you really are on the fastest route ..........🤣 Malc
  2. Your thoughts please . Clearly my Ls400 hasn't a SatNav so I simply rely on my IPhone for google maps and maybe some others too from time to time My Honda Legend is stuck at year of manufacture 2006 version on the sat Nav Whenever we go anywhere unusual we only ever use our IPhones for uptodate maps .... be it on the Ls400 or the Honda Legend .. the costs from Honda to update the integral SatNav is barmy ....... as is, I'm reading here the Lexus option to update the in-situ SatNavs does anybody really bother to spend on " Official " updates or just use the freebie IPhones etc offerings ? Malc
  3. or might LexusPartsDirect have one in the UK for you Steve2006 here would have the right part no. for you I'm sure and ordering from Amayama to my own personal knowledge is just " spot on " Malc
  4. wot a disappointment .. might Amayama or Rockauto have one for you ? Malc
  5. checking this post having just got back from a cruise to Iceland where it's actually mid summer with 24hrs light . mid-summer eh ! wind chill factor takes it to +3c and plenty of driving rain too NOW HOWEVER all aside . trolling thru I looked at an ad for an Ebay Mk3 Ls400 thereat . just asking some Qs of the advertiser I seemed to miss one i chatted to an owner about K944KOT that looks brilliant on paper think it's sold as i said I'd contact when I returned from my summer cruise today ! Anyone on here bought it ? Malc wot the 'ell am I doing thinking to buy a second Ls400 Mk3 🤩 . there'll be a few coming outta the woodwork come 31st August and Herr Khan's expanded ULEZ zone in place
  6. My first triangular one failed at 145k miles Heard a “ pop/bump” whatever in the Dolomites but couldn’t find anything untoward and she drove as good as ever for the rest of the holiday …… ‘Twas near side front at the next MOT fail and I replaced with BluePrint RUBBISH as that only lasted 40/50k miles …. and at 50% Lexus Toyota cost at that time I hadn’t then read about Amayama etc Then it’s been Amayama X 4 since about 190/205k miles for Toyota stamped replacements as above and touch wood these should all last to 300k+ miles ok …. Fingers xd 👍 Malc
  7. Oh, and the OEM Toyota originals lasted from 145k thru to 205k before becoming MOT Advisories / Fails Malc
  8. Those simple triangular arms I bought a few Ls400 ones thru Amayama at biggish costs over the years but even after carriage, import duty, vat etc worked out about 50% of UK Toyota / Lexus Main Dealer prices …… and only about an hour each side to replace have read in the past here about trying to press fresh rubber bushes in etc but it’s never come across as being tangibly successful good luck Malc
  9. I shouldn’t worry too much about the odd comment that’s awry …….. ask Mods Steve2006 how to ….. he’s always understanding helpful and thoughtful about errant Posts 🤞 Malc
  10. Amazing Very well done not many here would attempt this I’m sure I’d have probably tried to claim for “ glass damage” on my insce AND I’d def go to the police ….. but that’s me well done whatever Malc
  11. maybe just get them to independently, without you involved, catch your local Bobby or PCSO and show him/her/it Malc
  12. there are some for sure, many in fact . but again there are some relatively wealthy ones too ....... the NFU insure everyone not just farmers and employ people, some of whom are possibly ar--h=les like in every other business too ....... but on balance NFU employees are good people ..... my niece has worked for her local NFU Office for many many years and NO, I don't insure with them, they just aren't competitive ( pricing ) enough for my needs either Malc
  13. I’m appalled at Society random “badness” and the way it all seems so acceptable where the financial cost is relatively small …… doubtless the Police can’t or won’t assist to apprehend the louts and put them in the stocks for a public flogging ?? Lucky you can remedy the damage ok. Well done 👍 Malc
  14. There’s a separate thread here about the CRIT stickers if that helps ! Malc
  15. It's quite amazing that there's a relatively mass produced car ...... in tiny numbers tho ........ that are still around and people talking about really quite tiny amounts of rust Most other " mass produced " cars of the age, approaching 30 years young, have already just gone to the crusher methinks ....... We're blessed to have the foresight to own and still quite readily run our Ls400s ......... now then, where's my second one lurking .... I'm sure thinking to buy my Mk3 no.2 when I get back from hols later this month ..... let's see ........... the hydro power Ls700 seems to be toooooo far on the horizon maybe Malc
  16. a month has passed and methinks we're about to see a raft of good Ls400s appearing in the for sale ads coz it's dawning on owners in those fresh to be ULEZ areas ( in London anyway ) that the £12.50 a day to keep a beloved Ls400 just ain't worth it anymore ....... unless Herr Khan's proposals for extension are thrown asunder Let's see how this all pans out Malc
  17. K are you saying that coz it's LPG'd that makes it ULEZ compliant rather than not due to it's regn age ? Thanks Malc
  18. never heard of this in the Ls400 ................. Malc
  19. there's definitely no-one in the Thanet area that looks after Lexus .. I lived in Herne Bay area My previous guy, Rob in Margate, who looked after my Ls400s over 20+ years has given-up car servicing etc .............. he was MY specialist and did fantastic for me I'm beginning to use another over here in Queenborough on Sheppey BUT I know I'm his one and only Lexus client ....... he's treading carefully and so far is GREAT I know of no-one specialising in Lexus in Kent . and you're in the far-flung corner in Thanet too Malc
  20. niggly bits don't seem to affect the MOT status so......... I'd think very seriously about keeping her ... tiny mileage for a car that can cope with 5 X that with ease and good maintenance too Malc
  21. But sadly he's changed the original wheels to Mk4 style . sad really, messing around with a Mk3 Malc
