  1. hahahahaha ....... learn ? it's very therapeutic they tell me . so's the coffee too 😇 Malc
  2. hahahahahahahahaha .. PROVE IT ............... 🤣 your personal experience then ? . if not then why not ?? ........... did some politician tell you somewhere . an honest one, to be believed . and if so WHY would you believe him/her or whatever it might be NOW THEN ......... we do all actually know for certain that some politicians lie and often tell mistruths ...... and I'm sure I don't have to prove that to anyone ...... OR do I ? My 3rd cuppa of the morning awaits . then I'll go for a swim . kids are back to school and the pool will be " normal " again thankfully with room to breathe, well, swim anyway 😅 Malc
  3. more coffee ladies ............ 🤩 Malc
  4. I'm thinking you might have the highest mileage of any car for a member here ....... whatever the model Well done again .. s'posing Caithness and long long Scottish roads makes for higher miles . the prior owners have certainly got the best from the car . long long comfy brilliant miles Malc
  5. not at all....... . "sad faced " coz the Chairman of your company had a downer ( quite justified of course ) on Japanese stuff at that time nowt would or could turn anybody off the wondrous Ls400 eh ! 😇 Malc
  6. looks a big big private ltd company too and making brilliant profits .......... ✌️ I'd try these first before Pilkingtons . which had it's Classic Car glass making facility here near me in Kent until it closed and they moved it North Malc
  7. had i known I might well have made that pilgrimage to nostalgia land My revered Wolseley 16/60 and Morris Oxford estate readily come to mind . Austin Somerset my very first car ( cost £4, amazing ) and learning to drive on a simple Morris 1100 and on my dad's Wolseley 6/110, wow I scared him on that one for sure ..... he had many Rovers and also the now very rare Austin 3 ltr ( very gearbox prone ) I also momentarily, foolishly bought an ancient Austin Westminster 3 ltr thingy .... wonderful car but would have been a moneypit had i kept her . she broke down on the M4 on our way to Wales on holiday . good 'ol RAC to the rescue that day ah such nostalgia ..... a benefit of being old and ancient me'self eh ! Thanks for the memories 🖕 Malc
  8. woweee . the MOT history reads pretty damn good ......... pre life as a taxi maybe ? btw the MOT runs out 24th June ............. bet she's been ever so well serviced and looked after all these years too . the steering column rake adjustment i hear can be ever so expensive and many owners just adjust themselves to as it is ..... saves maybe a grand or so on that alone sounds a true Gem you've landed Well done Do keep us posted on developments ...... Lucky You eh ! Malc
  9. hahahahaha, most of the upper 3 storeys of my ancient 400 year old tiny 2 bed cottage is made of wood ......... cozy in winter and well insulated against the heat in summer ..... not so sure the beetles are ok tho' ........ hopefully they munched all they wanted decades ago ........... those houses look tooooo big for me .. think of the cost of a heat pump and plumbing to get those up to scratch ...... simple life for me and old fashioned kiddies type tree houses would be ok for the homeless masses . need plenty of space to park the Lexus tho' . of course 😅 Malc
  10. David, sounds as if you might have bought a gem ........... what's the MOT situation ? regn no. ? Malc
  11. isn't it likely that any old aged tank from this model will be suffering similar rust issues too ? How about a 3D printed one . might that be feasible ? Malc
  12. keep the trees and build Tree Houses in / up them . thereby also reducing the home / house waiting lists and provide good and sound housing that might keep the politicians happy and the Housing Associations too .......... new homes for the masses........... . not so sure about resale value tho' 🤔 Malc
  13. of course the plural is simply ....... Lexii ..... more than the one " i " to skin a cat so as to speak Just keeping it simple 🖕 Malc
  14. Oh my thank you for that link . ............ ain't brand new modern day cars soooooo complex ..... all I want to do is sit in my car comfortably and know it's going to get me from A - B safely and in good time ...... and probably back Too much high tec stuff that's possibly of little use to any " normal " owner My Ls700 is seemingly " on the way " sometime soon Malc
  15. Thinking if the old glass is intact a stick-on will pick-up enough heat to defrost etc ( maybe ) Malc
  16. Zak ....... condolences Door Mirror glass i got from a mirror glass cutting company some years back, by post ..... it's not heated etc but does an otherwise fine job ( for my / the Honda Legend ) Let me know if you want their details ....... only about £25 and a stick-on over the existing .. I had to draw a template for them as they'd never had an order for one of that marque prior Best wishes Malc
  17. and you might not find out till way down the line when you get a premature failure ...... some might say at 43k miles that's not premature BUT the original had lasted some 140k miles and I'm anticipating the replacement to the BluePrint one will also last 140k miles too ...... being Toyota branded from Amayama 😇 Fingers xd Malc
  18. Andy ..... it's enforced speed slowing mechanisms that don't cost the earth to bring about ............... bit like speed humps and the ever emerging potholes everywhere that just give effect to " speed limiting " and in the end, for the Purists ... Road Safety at minimal costs .... simple effective speed reduction programmes Am I being serious here one wonders 😉 Malc
  19. Gang ......... . Qs and Qs and Qs . chill out, it makes for better life's experiences ......... oh, I've got to prove that now somehow eh ! 🤣 Malc
  20. and in summer this year for export from USA they say on their blurb .... and it's only US$ 995 .... . in the USA of course ......... I'm sure Customs& Excise will give you some idea of the VAT and Import Duty etc ......... carriage and insce won't be huge ........... maybe all-up @ 1.25 US$ / £ 800 + 100% uplift if you're unlucky . to £1500 or so ............ Go4It 😉 Malc
  21. It's almost impossible to write anything that's not got some incorrectness within ........... then there's Terminological Inexactitudes ( Churchillian use in the House I understand 🤣 ) that's my favourite Nevermind ..... we can all just chill and take another decaff coffee ...... EVs are brilliant to those that believe so .... but I'm going for my Hydrogen, and personalised Ls700 when BP have put enough provision in their UK wide fuel station estate ............ All I've got to do is make sure my business is making enough spondoolies to buy one outright and for HMRC to " up " the ability for my business to buy me one tax efficiently ......... whatever the price might be ....... I suspect it might be edging over the £100k mark Wot d'ya reckon ... 3 or 5 years away ?? at which time EVs will be a forlorn reminder of how cars used to be ..... like diesel and ULEZ expansion and Horse Drawn Carriages 🤩 I really do think Hydrogen Powered cars will be with us in some short measure tbh .. and Toyota will be at the forefront . as with anything to do with cars almost NOW, how can I personalise and rebadge to Lexus ..... .Ls700 ? Malc
  22. Callum, well, lucky you to have addressed it all in time eh ! Well done 🖕 Malc
  23. BluePrint ...... I bought a front expensive arm a few £oo's long way back and it only lasted some 43k ? miles or so ............ all my further replacements have been genuine Lexus / Toyota and imported from Amayama ...... and saving huge amounts of £££ too, over UK Lexus prices ( of course ) Don't know about BluePrint filters and other bits and bobs though tbh . many people use BluePrint I know . just saying from my own personal experiences over the years I've had my Ls400 since mid 2011 and done 122k of the present 245k miles and replaced much of the expensive bits and bobs over the years 😆 . and she cost me, if I remember correctly, £1400 from a Member here, back in those halcyon days ! 😇 Good luck Malc
  24. us owners of elderly cars . and mine not having sat nav screen anyway, 95 Mk3 Ls400 ....... find Google maps . Waze etc much better than any in built screen sat nav ...... that's never up-to-date anyway ( that's the case with my 2006 Honda Legend ) Good luck finding what's seemingly going to be nigh impossible to source Malc
