I wafted to the petrol station yesterday in my Mk1 and filled up with E5 …… doing 23.5 mpg average over the last 280 miles all styles of driving so I’m happy, slow, braking and of course very very fast ….. wow she moves so well for a 32 year old ! ……… I’ll check out the mpg average of the Mk3 sometime too Malc

They have their spies everywhere and really really want us Ls400 etc owners to be able to run our cars forever and to enable Lexus to bring out another V8 petrol limo well after 2030 …… and then post 2035 too of course ( what’s my inside info eh ! ) Just so long as we overall as a Nation reach Net Zero by 2050 …… I might be Net Zero myself by then of course and being very good for the environment in “ pushing up daisies “ 🤣 Malc

I think the sentiment is simply that the driver at such amazing speed really needs to be someone with soooper powers of awareness when driving at such acceleration ....... and those drivers are quite rare and shouldn't be doing such actions on public roads ...... for a start their actions take the awareness of other drivers on the road by surprise, even you for instance maybe , and that in itself can cause lapses in lesser mortals than you, that might incur accidents whatever ...... and all because someone decides they can use the public highway as their personal racetrack ! Roy, that's very good .... should we create a simple log of who might have what and where ? the Mk2 is also becoming rare too these days Just having new pads on my Mk3 and the indy is having to be imaginative in his thinking where to get them this time around ! ........ scarcity of bits and bobs is becoming a bit of a norm for these elderly cars .... and maybe suppliers not wanting ( financial reasons ) to hold excess stock Malc
