some unknown buggers today squashed part of my rear corner sidelight plastic lens covering .... just the red lower section bashed and not left enough bits behind to " make it good " 😥 I've looked high and low for all the shards of plastic ! Anyone a spare part ? Thanks Malc

i saw a brilliant tiny red Peugeot here the other day . an early L reg, is that 1992 then ? Little old lady driving . guess she might have had that from new too ......... remembering I had an old white tiny Peugeot 104 ? alongside my first Ls400 too that i used to love driving, could throw it around anywhere and about 100 mpg if i remember .. when i used to worry about fuel costs in those bad old days of being hard-up 🤣 Peugeot made some smashing tiny brilliant cars Malc

nowt like a Hillman Imp . i had one brand new in 1969 ............ nope, that's a BMC marque of quality takes me a little back to my days of owning, proudly, a Wolseley 16/60 and a Wolseley 6/110 ( or was that a Westminster of same 3ltr ilk ? ) Malc

Ben I think we are blessed to understand the " value " of these elderly Ls400s Had my 2nd one a month now and whilst full of small / tiny ( effectively ) issues overall I shan't be trying to get her pristine .... I understand the fallacy of that if she's going to be used as an everyday 2nd car even .. and the effect of other road users doing even slight damage which would cause me some angst ........ other road users don't care a hoot about inflicting even slight damage on others ......... and they'll just bugger off and never leave that honesty to owning-up note . I know ! Enjoy your Ls400 ...... I use each of mine every other day .. and my 2006 Honda Legend for ULEZ area driving now Well done rescuing a brilliant car worthy of more tlc and another 20 years of motoring 😇 Malc

refuelling with coffee usually and weeeeee stops too of course and maybe 2 / 2.5 hrs and 125/150 miles ....... next one is mid October from Queenborough to Ruthin Castle for a few days in hopefully delightfully dry and happy weather too 😃 .... maybe just the one stop hopefully twixt home and hotel ............ now which Ls400 do i take ...... decisions decisions decisions 😇 Malc sorry i digress from the " Ludicrous " concepts by not taking the probably never to be acquired EV and all that amazing technology that might go whizz and bang and cost me a fortune to sort out ...... let alone having zero comprehensible dials, speedo etc 🥶

it's absolutely brill driving both of my aged V8 4 ltr Ls400s .. real dials and " feel " for the whole driving experience .... Zero to lots of mph in just a few seconds is quite enough for me 😇 Oh, and the range is about 500 miles between refuelling Malc

nothing changes ...... when i was at school some 58 years ago I was firmly TOLD by the Headmaster that I could NOT use the school car park ..... only his car and one or two teachers could afford cars in them far off dark days .......... school car park virtually permanently empty ....... so i just parked outside the school grounds on the public highway to the annoyance of local residents .. of course ! That was Orpington in Kent and in those days not many house owners had cars either Malc

I'd think your local car sales or indy garage with a ramp would happily rent you an hour or two of their ramp on a quiet day for them ..... from time to time Malc

a simple local garage that's been around for a while . NOT a BIG national chain for sure . just your small local back street indy that's got some sensible years behind him . that's all I've used for the past 55 years of motoring incl the past 25 years with a Ls400 ...... it's only a car you know ! Malc
