This my 4th Ls400 in 25 years and Just got back from my Wales 5 day trip 812 miles @ 28.4mpg motorway / country lanes hills mountains and valleys / and today almost swimming thru’ serious flooded roads …… but back safe and to my mind brilliant mpg outcome …… for my “ new to me “ 32 year old lady ….. supreme drive comfort and impeccable reliability for this her first major “ test “ and beating the pants off a few Mercs and BMwobblewes t’boot in the process Malc

I planned to buy my “ toy” for my older age …… a 1965 Bentley S3 BUT my Indy mechanic always hammered into my brain that it would be as much on a trailer to him for likely very expensive repair as I could ever use it …… so keep with the Lexus Ls400 ……. So to scratch that old age itch …… I bought my other Ls400 …… my new2me “ toy “ a month or so back ……… we’re together touring north Wales at the moment 👌 Malc

Amazing and forbearance by the family Ls400s are possibly more durable cars and indeed my 1991 car is in its 4th decade 😂 ( I was very impressed by my Saab back in the day ) It might well outlast me of course …….. like Warren Buffet I’ve never fretted much about modernity of my cars …… they’re safe they function they’re amazingly reliable and comfortable …….. and well, the Ls400 is just a billion £££££ production car by Toyota and is a brilliant daily driver …… for me anyway …… find me a better car in all respects and a change might be achieved 🤔 But I doubt it 😂 Seriously, Ls400 owners and drivers are probably a tad eccentric …… it’s life AND a plethora of Ls400s will continue for a while yet 👌 Malc

Then of course the ultimate London Transport EV in my early life were the London Trolley Buses ……. TfL “ eat your heart out “ ( if you have one ) 😂 Malc

We now know where to sell our aged Ls400s …… Sweden ….. but no doubt there’d be huge hurdles to leap with Export criteria and costs 🤔 Malc Im never selling btw 😇

And that was Shell V Power E5 too where the E10 was 141.9p ltr …… Whitchurch in Welsh Wales Noting all thru Wales the E5 might be 15/16p per ltr dearer than E10 AND the local councils want one to weeeeee behind hedgerows coz of the 40p tariff to use the public loo s’pose that saves the climate in not flushing public loos whatever ….. C’mon Wales you’re doing your bit to save the planet, reducing Climate Change and fertilising the hedgerows 👍👍👍 Malc sarcasm 🤔😂🤔

Oh my. How does one divert away from such complexity ……. and bring the convo “ down “ to the level of us mere mortals ? CLIMATE CHANGE and running a Ls400 ….. btw my first petrol refuel on my Mk1 1991 Ls400 on my mega miles distance to Wales and around ….. the 2nd day of the 5 …… tells me I’m averaging some 27.35mpg for these some first 316 miles …… I think that’s quite good for lots of motorway with Welsh hills and valleys too 👌 with local E5 at 156.9p ltr Malc

It’s a bit sad to convert Bentleys and RRs to EV even when there’s nutters around to pay £400k for one ……. Classic ones or nay ! Malc
