Just chat to your local friendly tiny garage with a hydraulic ramp and rent a little time on it Solution is there without putting your life at risk nor being a drain on the inevitable 999 call for an ambulance to take you to A&E ….. or worse, the hearse owner 😰 Malc

    and there's mine at 247k miles and 28 years young and living next the sea for much of it's life ......... never been treated to any underside " rust prevention " treatment ( yet ) and never received any MOT warnings about underside rust either ! Malc

    OMG ........... keep the Ls400 for sure . she'll last you at least another lifetime ......... you'll never find another car like it .......... but you know that anyway ! Good luck with deciding correctly just get to use it a lot more eh ! Malc

    And I’ve been reading before that pre 2012 car TPMS doesn’t have to function for an MOT …… if that helps ! Malc

    For heavens sake see sense and just get your Indy to let you “borrow” his ramp/lift for a couple of hours You can then get up and under and do your worst with a degree of comfort ……. he’ll make u a cuppa too I’m sure ! Malc

Your garage has taken “ advantage “ of your loyalty methinks and certainly not been slow in expanding their bill I just fail to see 28hrs labour charge tbh ……. that’s probably 4 whole, one-man working days worth of effort …….     Going back to 1988….. my brand spanking new company Vauxhall Carlton was actually delivered, by a driver, to my nominated address …… can’t remember the mileage on the clock at all …… I was just happy to have a free company car 😄 Malc 🤔I think he may have driven it from Luton factory to Petts Wood Kent

    I really really enjoy driving my Ls400s, always have done, found the seating position just always just right for exacting and long journeys BUT that road from Kent down t'a West Country is simply DREADFUL whenever I have been ..... and that's mostly " out of season " too Malc

    I see brand new cars, all marques, being driven from import ships to local open storage and then presumably on trailers to Main Dealers Thats about 4/5 miles maybe alone 🤔 They sometimes chase around like cars/cats outta hell too 😰 Malc
