  1. No room for a cat to sleep in there then 🤔 Malc
  2. Stephen, at least you’re not needing a ramp nor axle stands to get the interior sorted ……. but you might get “ crushed” writing that cheque to the upholsterer ….. Wots the ££££ damage likely to be ? Malc
  3. I had seriously considered skipping the Ls430 and 460 and going straight to a Ls600 …… but I’ve never had any major unexpected issues with my Ls400s and always found them relatively inexpensive to keep on the road and so reliable and immensely comfortable for all and any driving ……. But just useless in ice and snow …. so they stay at home The Honda Legend I have is a great AWD saloon for all that stress …… but the Ls400 is soooooo easy to drive for me …… and I’ve had one almost every day for a qtr century …… so when this Mk1 appeared from a Member here, well I just couldn’t resist her ..,…. and take them in turns to use every other day I’ve not turned aside the thoughts of ever having that Ls600, but just not yet …… Stella miles doesn’t worry me one jot coz I know that if they’ve got that far they’ve been ever so well looked after ( hopes ! ) and probably cosseted thru life ……, It does concern me a little that this past year there’s never been so many Ls600s for sale …… maybe it’s a factor of older owners popping off and the economy just driving owners to more modern cheap to run runabouts ……, and maybe EVs too I ramble on a bit …….. but of course wish you well with your “ new to you “ Ls600 and the continuing story unfolding …… it’s all a great adventure 😄 Malc
  4. hahahaha 🤩. Inevitable PANIC will set in and you’ll be on tenterhooks till the very end of your experiment ….. are you a gambling man 😂 Malc
  5. Is there always the opportunity to have one’s own independent assessor to review all the issues too ? Malc
  6. Hi Niaz ......... so few Ls600 owners here eh ! When you get some answers could you please post them for us all to see coz one day we too might be buying a Ls600 😇 Malc
  7. Clearly not missing at all ……. Just remember when one bar left it’s plus 23 ltrs and lots more miles for you 😄 On my Ls400s the orange bar showing to “ fill up “ has about 100 miles remaining …….. my tank holds 85ltrs Malc
  8. Seeing that the OP Michael V hasn’t visited this forum since his post on 5th October 🤔 Malc
  9. Might I suggest you call your Home/ House insurers Help Line just to float these circumstances across their furrowed and professional brow ……. and when and if rejected take a next step …… Are you a member of the AA or RAC etc ……. their Help Lines too Exhaust the freebies first …… Malc
  10. No Win No Fee claims management coy ? To assist ? Malc
  11. I’m sure there are local’ish specialist 3D printers that might be able to advise you ….. Do keep us in the picture here, I’m sure we’re all on that learning curve and will appreciate your progressive knowledge Thanks Malc
  12. I found once, few years back , I bought a replacement Ls400 battery from the Toyota Main Dealer ….. competitive price too and with free fitting …… drinking their coffee whilst waiting Toyota has THE spares dept just along the road from the Lexus Main Dealer in Canterbury ……. wonderfully helpful and supply and fit the correct Yuasa battery at that time …… wet wintry day ( like today ) and someone free in the workshop to fit my tiny job into the schedule Stephen, have you tried the Main Dealer spares dept yet ? Malc
  13. use it every day then ? Malc
  14. Lemon and bicarbonate then …… seems innocuous and effective 👍 Well discovered 👏 Malc
  15. Oh dear Just another challenge for you Malc
  16. You seeee. Leaking from that area ……. Alternator goes KAPUT if you leave it much longer 🥵 and that’s silly expensive to replace 😰 Malc
  17. It’s 100 Ah. 830 CCA. £166 Malc
  18. I recently used my local GSF motor factor to supply the biggest and best value battery, 5 year warranty, for my 91 Ls400 Cost £166 discounted and incl vat and my local Indy fitted it for a tenner £10 Works a treat ….. the old one, same make has lasted 8 years Yuasa 335 5000 silver 5yr warranty Could it possibly be as simple for you as it was for me ? Good luck with it all Malc
  19. A few months ago I was quite seriously considering a Jap import but wasn’t able to reconcile myself to the hieroglyphics in Japanese Notwithstanding everything ( they say ) had been converted to English 🤔 so resigning myself to this FACT I decided to cease my search for a import Jap car and just go search for a simple UK Japanese car …… a UK Lexus Just beware that an Import might have idiosyncrasies you don’t really wish for even tho’ the car is “ ostensibly “ the same Malc
  20. that could be why so many claimants simply place all their dealings into the hands of Assessors / Claims Handling Companies to act on their behalf ...... No Win No Fee is often the way to go ! When one instructs those professionals they will always give you a fair indication of your chances of success OR NOT ! Malc
  21. No good will come of bringing the Church into this convo ! ..... it's Christmas approaching Malc
  22. Nick hi, I'm back You have lots of helpful and useful info above You're having decided the "right price" for the car gives you your possible upper price to pay ...... if you wanted The lowest price to pay depends on your negotiating skills and remember, your bid can rarely go down. . so go there, drink their coffee and start low ............ maybe 😉 Good luck Malc
  23. Gray thank you for the clarity Had you initially told us the Event was some 40 years ago I think most of would have been astounded ........ no normal insured driver with their own car would have thought about " superchip " anything other than from the Fish and Chip Shop ! Ordinary insured drivers these days are simply aware to advise their insurers of modifications and like me, even I cleared the prior owner's change over from 15" to 16" wheels on my Mk1 Ls400 I don't for one minute believe insurers are prone to avoiding their liabilities in valid situations .. it's surely only when the insured try's to " pull a fast one " will they see red and be challenging AND Personal Injuries Claims are often fraught with simple FRAUD and EXAGERRATION and demonstrable Loss has to be shown often to the Court and their Professionals Malc
