  1. Two deep pockets preferably 😊
  2. I understand certain motor cycle gang members are called 1% ers ⚰️but don't know the answer to this one
  3. Do make sure that you do tank to tank checks the computer is not very accurate - designed by Walter Mitty perhaps 😅
  4. The Lexus YouTube video is a great help. I am on my 4th Lexus having started with a 2014 IS300h f sport. As a high mileage driver I find that using eco apart from in traffic or cruising at a steady speed is counter productive to economy. If you dig around my old posts you will see my real world consumption figures. I have had more recent IS300h as loan cars and they are definitely better on fuel. Let's face it you are getting diesel mpg from a petrol and that's great (I'm comparing with my last Mercedes a E250 cabriolet which got mid to high 40s generally).
  5. Glad the warranty is sorting it. That is very positive
  6. RUN AWAY springs to mind 🐎
  7. Plenty of advice on this forum. There are loads of threads on is220d engine problems and I'm sure you will get good advice from those posts
  8. The car hasn't been sold to you with a head gasket issue has it?
  9. It is a while since I have studied consumer rights law so you need to check on how much time you give them to rectify the fault and ensure that by allowing them to attempt repair again you are not weakening your rights. I wish you well. Worth studying the approved used car conditions also as that is a good lever if they haven't prepared the car properly to Lexus standards.
  10. Or threaten to issue a summons in the small claims Court to cover the cost of repair. (very inexpensive and covers amounts up to £5000) That often focuses the mind I have found.
  11. After a full term as a police officer I think that the policing in certain areas leaves much to be desired. Always any crime with a home Invasion especially a domestic burglary at night(to steal the transponder) immediately attracted a hefty prison sentence. This is not a victimless crime. Cheltenham race week night shift would involve recording the registration numbers of every car in every hotel and public car park resulting in recovery of quite a few stolen cars and cars used by travelling criminals and some very good arrests. Often these high performance stolen cars are used in serious crime by ruthless criminals. The trouble is the 'Snowflake' Police would rather prosecute 'Facebook' crime because its easy to get good detection rates and we all know that modern society loves a good graph or spreadsheet A lack of resources is trotted out as an excuse but the police deal with far less onerous tasks today than 40 or even 15 years ago. When did you last see a Blunkett Bobby on the beat. In my area probably not for at least 5 years, but you see them pretending to be real police in pairs in vehicles all the time..... Rant over. 🌼🌼🌼
  12. I have premium navigation and normally use it in conjunction with Tom Tom. 2 weeks ago the car warned me of a closed road due to the flooding in Bridgnorth which the Tom Tom didn't identify.. But TomTom live speed cameras is very good and with lifetime mapping is as up to date as possible.
  13. I called the police immediately as it was 5.45am and the offenders had put on lights, I wasn't sure if they were still in there. The police wouldn't attend immediately as I couldn't say for sure they were inside. I did make a formal complaint..... Call taker given advice
  14. My neighbours bungalow was raised while they were on holiday and I was minding it. They removed carpet gripper strip from a side gate despite turning on a security light, climbed over and smashed the glass in the conservatory door, then repeated on the dining room. Place ransacked leaving lights on and egress as entry. Neither the neighbours the other side or us heard all the noise.
  15. Just a thought, perhaps you could save some money and remove them completely with some fishing line and tar remover or similar.
  16. Most Lexus have a host of sub menus in the menu settings to turn all sorts of things on and off. If your car has the mouse type control with Premier navigation then you will find lots of settings hidden away.
  17. blockquote widget The later RX450h has been modified to bring the wheel closer to the drivers seat.
  18. The comfort of your choice is paramount. I wanted to replace my 2015 GS300h with an NX. The one I test drove nearly crippled me in 10 miles and I aborted the drive. That was a first generation NX. I bought a 2015 RX450h Advance which was superbly comfortable as is my 2017 version. So to answer your question I would choose the car based on ride comfort over specification that fits your budget. Whatever you decide make sure you get a good long test drive. Good Luck
  19. Overtaken this morning on the M5 Northbound near Gloucester by a blue 69 plate Aston Martin DBX SUV. Mule perhaps as I didn't realise they were being sold until later this year.
  20. For some strange reason Lexus give differing warranties in different markets. I think they give 4 years in the US and 5 in some others. As you so rightly say it is odd when the cheapest Toyota gets 5 years.
  21. Had the water pump discussion on Friday with service staff at Cheltenham. Was told Lexus,/Toyota use a smallish pump on their care in order to fit everything in to a small space and the pumps are therefore having to woea lot harder than a bigger pump hence the failure
  22. It was on the service record during the time the car was for sale and is showing as being changed at the request of Lexus UK so was clearly some sort of standard recall. The car was registered 20th January 2017
  23. I think that is an unnecessary worry. I suspect that more Golf's are stolen than Lexus because they are easier to part out etc, and more of them around to create a demand for cheap spares. Just read an article on most stolen cars in UK and the Golf is one of the most stole. Lexus CT doesn't make the list 👍
  24. Gen 4 2017 water pump replaced at 24000 miles under warranty (£1000+job). Gen 3 2015 Advance wheels refinished as goodwill due to lacquer issues in centre. Ditto 1 wheel replaced under manufacturers warranty on gen 4 Premier. Gen 4 2017 Premier fuel pump replaced October 2019 at behest of Lexus UK.
  25. Quite agree. In fact I'm pretty sure that with approved used cars it is a condition that a service book or fully stamped replacement is supplied. Both my RX450h s have come with replacement books because of GDPR
