  1. Bottom line is if you want an LS it is worth paying a little extra for a mint low miles car. I once bought a Mercedes 300ce 10 years old with 10000 dry miles. I paid over the odds from a Mercedes dealer, but the car had been serviced every 1000 miles and wasn't even run in. That car new in 1992 cost £42,000 and I paid £15000 for it 10 years later. But boy did I enjoy driving it. It never had any repairs other than routine servicing
  2. Enjoy your Jaguar, you'll probably return sometime in the future 👍
  3. Yes I like white for those reasons. My RX is silver as I wanted the cream interior and it is also easy to keep clean (by the handcarwash men once a week).😊 I do polish it myself and I also clean the interior which is the easiest of any car I've ever owned.
  4. I have had similar issues caused by my key being in the same pocket as my mobile phone.
  5. I bought my car just after the new legislation came into force. I never saw the previous V5 for my car and the new one doesn't show previous keeper. The dealer also supplied a replacement stamped service book which again doesn't show any previous keeper details.
  6. The previous owner details no longer appear on the V5 as I found out when I received mine in June
  7. The point I am trying to make is that if repaired the car could never offer the same level of protection if you were unfortunate enough to be involved in another big accident. 30 years ago a similar accident would probably have involved you being removed in a body bag because cars weren't so well designed for crash safety. The various areas of a modern car bodyshell use special steels to help in a bad accident. I don't believe after a big accident the integrity of the shell can ever be the same.
  8. They reintroduced the feature presumably with better crash unlock detection.
  9. I wouldn't even consider trying to rebuild this car. It saved your life by folding correctly and absorbing all the kinetic energy that would have scrambled your insides. I don't believe anyone could give the car the accident safety to factory standards. I once went to an accident where a Saab got hit by an Artic. The kinetic energy from the impact was so great that the Saab suffered very little damage but unlike your car didn't dissipate the energy (older technology). Both occupants barely marked but stone dead from their innards absorbing all the energy rather than the car dissipating it. This is why would take the money and run.
  10. That is odd as on my car the auto lock settings were in the menus. My car was Luxury Spec with ML.
  11. My GS was a pre face-lift 2015 registered June 2015 and it had auto locks. Is your car a face-lift model?
  12. I used to use Collinite, but it was a real job to put it on and buff off. Didn't last very well. With my high mileage I find the blacklite easy to put on and it lasts for about 6 months without losing any beading. After every wash I spritz the car with Chemical Guys Hypno sealant which keeps a nice shine on the paint.
  13. I use Chemical Guys Blackllight as my preferred paint protection. Have you tried it?
  14. My 2015 GS and previous 2014 IS300h F Sport both had auto locking, so I was very surprised there was no option on the 2015 RX450h. That is the power of a lawsuit in America for you. I understand newer versions now have the auto locking so there must be an improved unlocking safety system.
  15. My understanding is that due to an accident and subsequent litigation in the USA for a while auto locking was disabled. Certainly my 2015 Advance hasn't got it.
  16. Hi Nick. Smart move. Pearlescent white is gorgeous. I did 26000 miles in 12 months with my 2015 GS300h. Fabulous cars
  17. I put Michelin Primacy 4s on my GS 300h and they were amazingly quiet compared to the OE Dunlops. Much gripper too.
  18. What about Car Keys online who advertise on here for a start
  19. I only know of one LS430 in Gloucester and its in the Hucclecote area
  20. Surprised that the ML system isn't available in Canada. I may be wrong but I thought Pioneer supplied the non ML systems
  21. The characteristics of the car will be affected by the difference in grip and water clearance behaviour between different tyres especially on such a powerful car. Even a different model of the same tyre can make a big difference at high speed. When I was in the police all cars were fitted with Goodyear tyres. One of our cars had a pair replaced with an upgraded model tyre and no one noticed until it took a big 'Off' into the Forest of Dean on an emergency call.. Hence I am very wary about mixing tyres
  22. Michelin Cross Climates. I drive 500 miles a week and they are fantastically quiet and very grippy. They are allegextfo last 11,000 miles more than the competition
  23. Mine was Luxury Spec and it was a 2015 so had the heated/ventilated front seats and the rear cross traffic warning. It also had the ML sound system. I never stopped tweaking the seats, but as I drive around 500 miles a week that is no surprise. I'm sure you will love your car as they just waft along. A set of Michelin Primacy 4 tyres mad a huge difference to the handling and ride comfort.
