  1. Pretty certain that it is the same as on my 2015 Advance. The only function that will remain big screen is the 'car' function, both the bar chart screen and the power distribution screen. For definate the big audio screen switches out, but on my split screen the Channel shows unless off when it shows the speaker symbol. That from memory can be altered in settings. For full screen it's sat nav or nothing though. It doesn't switch off though.
  2. If both parents are alive 😂
  3. Be very wary of things on a mobile phone. The police are now using a camera that can zoom in on cars around a mile away to catch people using mobile phones and eating while driving.
  4. Spend the money on an aftermarket sat nav with free lifetime updates. Mine often saves me delays as tomtom data is from the movewof mobile phones in the area while the car gets its info from Blue roadside cameras.
  5. I forgot to say the reason you don't get a beepton the return journey is that the camera is only recording in one direction. A gatso may however flash its light if a speeding vehicle is traveling in the unrecorded direction. How do I know this? Before retired from the police there was a busy stretch of road out in the sticks with lotstithen and when on emergency calls they fired off. If I remember correctly they only gave one flash instead of 2 on the unrecorded side.
  6. The strange thing with Lexus technology is that it varies so much between models. The sat nav and ML was far more sophisticated on my 2015 GS ( DAB radio showed what was playing unlike the ML in my RX) and that had rear cross traffic radar in luxury trim. My previous IS300h f sport computer could record mileage in a day and driving times which is highly useful as I get paid by the hour. It does make switching between models interesting as both IS300h and RX have foot operated parking brakes while the GS doesn't and the CT is different again😂
  7. A not to be relied on feature as the speed limits are often wrong as it is not a'live' system. Fortunately having moved to the RX it doesn't beep. I use a tom-tom with live and that is fantasia you can update their database to show latest mobile sites. In South Gloucestershire and Shropshire they are now using motor cycles for speed enforcement.
  8. I drive around 500 miles a week in mixed conditions. I record my mpg on an app tankful to tankful and in the coldtweaeand snow have averaged 31mpg. In the shmiIwas getting 34 to 36 mpg.
  9. Enjoy. Please take a look at the Lexus video on driving a hybrid. That will help maximise economy. If it is on Dunlop tyres and you start to get a noise like wheel bearing rumble then it is because of the way the tyres wear in a step pattern. Even if the tread depth is fine new tyres will sort it. I am now running on Michelin Cross Climates which are great.
  10. If you are young and have a good back you should be okay. I drive around 500 miles a week and found my back was a bit sore. I then went to a GS300h luxury which was much better but my 2015 RX450h leaves them both in the shade for comfort. The FSport looks great as you say. The seat foam is developed from the supercar and is much firmer than other models. Dash dials are great fun 😀
  11. Many moons ago when I was in the police we found that if we drove past petrol stations and clicked the vhf handset it would make the forecourt loudspeakers howl. Not that it was ever done deliberately of course😊 That was before elf and safety and when attending calls at the motorway services we used to do U turns through the plastic crossover bollards if we were on the wrong carriageway. Very scary...
  12. I had exactly the same issue with my IS300h. Spoke to the service manager at my local Dealer who said it is a cold weather thing and if the pressures were okay not to worry. Only happened in very cold weatgt.
  13. Search for brochures on Google of different years. Lexus seem to leave them on the interweb. I found brochure on there for my RX and my previous GS to download as pdf
  14. I found last year that in snow mode in my GS300h on summer tyres driven sensibly it was very stable on a 175 mile round trip from Gloucester to Shrewsbury across country on snow covered roads. Today in my RX450h fitted with Michelin Cross Climates travelling across the Cotswolds in snow mode was a great experience.
  15. Acd lexus breakers is one I just found by googling 'lexus breakers'
  16. Are they making you a payment on the car? If it is a decent sum, in view of all you have posted here I would take the money and rejoice. They may pay you lip service by getting another engineer, but I don't understand why you are so desperate to get this wreckage back. Clearly the shell (unsurprisingly) is well bent and unrepairable to a safe standard if they categorise as cat B. My understanding is that a cat B is scrap and must be broken for parts only and the shell crushed all within an authorised facility. That is the law .
  17. I feel your pain. I had the indicator light fail in the mirror of a Mercedes E250 cabriolet and the led light isn't replaceable. That was £159 for the cover from my local Mercedes Dealer. Online breakers search may be the answer.
  18. Yours have the chrome outer ring unlike the black ones on ebay. I reckon you could carefully rub the background down, mask up and paint with spray chassis black or even hammerite with a cheap artist brush.
  19. Cheltenham give great discount to gold club members. I have saved shed loads on servicing and parts over the past 2 years. Well worth supporting this site for the discounts alone 👍👍👍
  20. Well the white stuff arrived overnight and I had to drive from Gloucester to Cirencester. Only a light dusting of snow over some ice. The grip from the Cross Climates was everything that had been reported. Fantastic. I kept the car in hybrid snow mode and everything was good including driving up the very steep Roborough Hill onto The Common. Across to Minchinhampton the road was lightly covered in snow and slush. Conditions much the same all the way to Cirencester. Very impressed with the RX especially as my average mpg showed as nearly 34mpg
  21. Agree with Mikey B. Leave well alone and view the Lexus video on how to dria hybrid. I used to get amazingly good consumption with my 2014 IS300h. Average of around 45 mpg.
  22. Same with my 2015 RX. Is it to do with disarming the alarm perhaps?
  23. Good News! Just had a phone call from the Supplying Dealer to say that Lexus are going to replace all four wheels as the car is so new. They will be in touch again once the logistics are sorted.
  24. Unfortunately the motoring press love to hammer the CVT gearbox. Personally I prefer it to a conventional auto.
  25. Congratulations on your new car. Welcome to the forum.
