  1. I had this sort of noise on my RX. Dunlop tyres wear in a 'stepped' fashion and cause the noise even with 3 to 4mm of tread. I put my 2015 GS300h on Michelin Primacy 4's.Great tyres or if you want all seasons I recommend Michelin Cross Climates. Noise was just like a wheel bearing rumble and as you say around 50mph very noticeable
  2. Car is booked in on 25th February for wheel refurbishment which is apparently being done by 'reinventing the wheel 'at Tewkesbury. I had some Z3 wheels refurbished there some years ago and they made a great job of those so I am quite reassured it will be a good job. Car will be MOt' d at the same time. They are lending me an is300h for the duration which is the largest loan car they have.
  3. Good news today . Lexus have authorised my local dealer to refurbish the wheels (Listers Cheltenham). I will contact them tomorrow to arrange a date.
  4. Yes its the 19inch diamond cut wheels. I guess there are very few of these cars with the Advance wheels in this finish as its only the very late ones that had them.
  5. I wanted an NX to replace my GS300h but when I drove one my back hurt within 10 miles. I then tried a series 3 RX and fell in love with the comfort and performance.
  6. My local tyre centre Chris Mullins in Gloucester is excellent for laser alignment. Protyre also have the same kit.
  7. Sounds like you need to increase the amowof screenwash to a cold weather concentration. I'm using a halfrauds one 60% concentrate to approx 40% water. No problems down to minus 3,
  8. The pale blue is a lovely colour, probably my favourite on an RX.
  9. Well Gave the car and Cross Climates a good test today as I had to collect a birthday cake from a house in Minchinhampton near Stroud. The house we visited was in a road where it was still under about 4 inches of vrgn snow and on a slope. Car and tyres coped perfectly. These pictures were taken on Minchinhampton Common when we went to The Old Lodge for a coffee. Verdict on Cross Climates 5*
  10. Those are the ones. Best rubber mats I've ever had. Mine have done 13000 miles since June and look like new still.
  11. Better still if you can find them Lexus do excellent beige rubber mats. Easy e clean and look great.
  12. Yes its the 19inch diamond cut wheels. I guess there are very few of these cars with the Advance wheels in this finish as its only the very late ones that had them.
  13. As always nothing is straightforward. Apparently replacement wheels are not available so Lexus will pay for full professional refurbishment. According to dealer they would usually send them away, but they are researching a mobile repair at my home (dealer is 180 miles round trip). In view of the location of issue at wheel hubs t am less than keen. I have suggested that my local dealer get the work done as they will lend me a car for a week while wheels are away. No doubt will hear shortly.
  14. Be very Wary of putting a damaged tyre in the car unless it's been deflated. A few years ago when I had a BMW Z3 2.8 a couple were in Scotland in a similar car, got a bulge in the tyre wall and fitted space saver. No room for wheel in the boot so the lady had the full size wheel on her lap. The tyre exploded and killed her.
  15. I used halfords tyre goo on my GS300h last year and there was no problem with TPMS.
  16. I usually set cruise at 50 ( my speed according to tomtom is 47-48mph)on a long dual carriageway stretch of the A449 between Worcester and Kidderminster. I use it at various times of the day and the speed camera van is invariably at one of about 6 different locations. Last week I was travelling South at 50 when Mr Smart**** decided that I was going too slowly for his Vauxhall Astra. As he pulled out to overtake I inwardly smiled . Brake lights on in front of me but he was toooo late..... Letter in the post no doubt
  17. Yesterday I was relying on my tomtom. No sign of an issue just slow traffic. I always have the car system running also. The car previously told me there was a road closure and offered alternative. Having detoured before in a previous Lexus when the problem had gone I ignored warning. Big mistake. Main road closed and I was an hour late for an appointment. DEEP JOY
  18. Having read in the RX forum that @rayaans had been advised to try some Redex in his car to clear an injector issue, it set me thinking. I bought my car in June so don't know how it had been driven previously , but the Sales Manager at the Dealership has implied that it previously belonged to the Captain of the local Golf Club and was mainly used locally. I drive mixed motorway and urban and do around 500 miles a week but of course the fuel system may be a bit 'gunged up ' from its previous life. .I use a mixture of branded and Supermarket fuel at present, but mainly spermarket at the moment as it is around 6p a litre cheaper. I thought i would give the Redex 'hybrid' fuel treatment a go. One bottle over 2 tankfuls was the dose I used. I think I could smell it in the exhaust gases when the car was idling with the engine running. 3 tanks of fuel later what is my conclusion. 1. The fuel economy is about the same (unexpected as the weather has been much colder and there was some snow driving involved). Average mpg according to my phone app over the last 1000 miles is between 31.79 and 32.95 only marginally less than my Autumn figures. 2. The car definitely seems to be performing better in normal mode. Acceleration seems smoother and swifter. I'll probably give it another bottle in a week or two to see what happens .........
  19. Sorted! To keep the last screen displayed go into Main menu and then 'General Settings.' Scroll down the list of options for the screen and there is an option to switch off the auto screen reset feature. I have now managed to sort my screen out (thanks to a thirty minute stationary traffic queue...).
  20. Not too bad then all things considered.
  21. Don't forget there was a complication mentioned in a now deleted post which it was decided would lower the payment slightly.
  22. Because they can't even send the correct recovery vehicle to a hybrid despite being a dedicated Lexus phone line...... Knew my IS300h wasn't drivable due to accident damage. When the yellow van turned up he immediately said a spectacle lift was no good and shouldn't have been sent. Waited a total of 5 hours in the middle of nowhere for low loader 😭
