A good question. I think that it must be more than just a hard drive and presume that it controls a lot of functions. I 'm sure someone on here may know the answer.Certainly all my stored satnav routes have gone , likewise the telephone speed dial settings.

I saw the UX at Listers Cheltenham today and was extremely impressed with the build quality. Beautifully put together and the car in white with saddle brown leather looked amazing. The downside for me was that the interior seemed rather cramped when the seat was in the right driving position for me and in fact seemed no bigger than my wife's Fiat 500.

Well my car had an intermediate service today a Lexus Cheltenham. At the same time they replaced the HDD to cure the slow reversing camera issue. Result - camera now switches much faster and some of the other functions seem quicker. The satnav destinations need reloading , but everything functions as it should.. The service adviser commented how much faster the camera switched in, so clearly they made the correct decision to replace the unit ( at nearly 2 grand it was a great warranty claim). While there I extended my warranty for another 2 years and was pleased to learn that the cost includes 2 MOT's. The only thing mentioned on service was that front discs are down to 32mm ( recommended minimum is 31mm apparently). Pads are at 4mm. Quote is £325 to replace discs and pads inc vat , but service adviser Mike said to leave the work for now and pop the car in after another 5,000 miles to check wear again. As always very happy with level of service as all work was completed in 2 1/2 hours while i examined the New RAV4 and UX 's in the showrooms.

RX or NX ?

I intended to buy an NX after owning both a 2014 IS300h F Sport and a 2015 GS300h. Drove one and found it incredibly uncomfortable. Harsh ride and the seats had me curtailing the test drive in 10 miles. I am not joking when I say that my back ached for several days. Tried an older RX and loved it. The fuel consumption is around the 32 to 36mpg mark Overy 20000 miles in 9 months. Normally change cars at this time but am sticking with the RX as I love it so much. My car is a very late series 3 RX Advance so to me has ample kit and conventional springs. Plenty of power and extremely quiet and stable on Michelin Cross Climates. -

If a blocked tube is the issue l can suggest a good safe way of clearing it. Aquarium suppliers sell strong nylon strimmer type wire with a small nylon brush on the end. These are nice and long as they are used for cleaning power filter plastic pipework. I have one from when I kept fish and it is fantastic for cleaning all sorts of pipes. -

I just used good old fashioned machine cutting compound and a coat of chemical guys 'blacklight' nano sealer. -
This is the text of the email form my Insurers (Police Mutual): It's increasingly possible the UK will leave the European Union on 29 March 2019 without a transition agreement in place. A no-deal Brexit means you'll need to carry a physical document - known as a Green Card - to drive your vehicle in any EU country, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Serbia, Andorra or Liechtenstein from 29 March. What do I need to do now? If you intend to drive in any of these countries on or after 29 March, you'll need to call us on xxxxxxxxx at least two weeks before your departure to make sure you get your Green Card on time. If the UK leaves the EU without transition arrangements in place, you'll be legally required to carry a Green Card in these countries. Failure to comply could result in you being accused of driving without insurance and you may be fined, prosecuted or your vehicle seized. If you're not planning on taking your car abroad there's nothing to do and you don't need to contact us. This does not affect you if you hire a car locally in one of the above countries. Is there anything else I need to know? In regards to your UK driving licence, regardless of whether we reach a deal or not, motorists may also be required to purchase an International Driving Permit. Whilst we're not able to provide these, we thought you should be aware that you can buy these at your local Post Office or get more information at www.postoffice.co.uk/international-driving-permit

If it is plastic then I achieved a great result with fine cutting compound on a microfibre cloth. After my tailgate was repainted the badge looked misty and 5 minutes work with meguirs cutting compound had it looking brand new. -
Don't forget to get a green card from insurance company and an international driving permit may be required. My insurers emailed me last week about this.

And today What Car announced the Lexus CT200h as the 2nd most reliable car after the Toyota Yaris got the top spot.

Why not try Lee at Lexus Direct Parts. They are keen to woo club members so worth giving them a try. -
I agree with all the negatives. Previous use of the car is unknown. I have an acquaintance who without my knowledge 3 months ago purchased a lovely 08 220diesel. He is now driving a petrol Mercedes as the Lexus was constantly in the garage. Fortunately he bought from a trade seller and was able to px the Lexus back without too much cost.

Once had a rubbing noise that was a stone caught between the backing plate and brake disc.... Had a rubbing noise on A BMW Z3 that was the entire brake pad parted from the backing on a rear brake caliper, fortunately it didn't fall out or that might have been a little entertaining. It was a genuine BMW part.

Hi Ben. My previous experience with convertibles (MX5, BMW Z3 and Mercedes E250 cabriolet,) suggests that coating all rubber seals with gummi phledge may be the first step in softening the seals causing them to swell and fit better. Regarding the windows then I would certainly explore resetting them before anything else.

As previously said welcome and where are the pictures 😄

1. There is a micro sd card with the mapping on. I bought an updated card from a guy in Dublin on ebay for my IS300h. Later I fitted it in my GS300h which was a 2015 car with premium nav and ML. Did Google street view on the address which was a Russian Supermarket. Card worked perfectly and cost about £70. The same guy (sergvia) has latest card for £77 pounds. There are cheaper ones on ebay but I know that the one he supplied was the latest version because I checked the part number he gave on Lexus website. Easy install.
