Axle stands

I wouldn't have this would be an issue as long as they are rated to take the weight of the vehicle and it is off road on a solid and level surface. -
If they have a policy on 'time in stock' it will either move to another site in the group or they will do a deal. I bought a mini Cooper Cluman JCW kitted demo with 1500 miles on it that had been advertised at £20000 and a week later (end of quarter) I bought it from another site in the group for £14,000.Drove it for 9 months and 20000 miles and traded it for £650 more than I paid.

I'd probably agree if We weren't the sort of people subject of the Alana Morissette song 'Isn't it ironic'. I'm the guy who had an Audi A4 2.8 Quattro bought new in1997 for £38,000 which less than 6 months out of warranty broke a camshaft due to metal fatigue at a cost of £3000 to repair. After a big fight with Audi it cost me £800 so that is why I'm happy to extend the warranty and why I'm anti VW Group vehicles.

Is220d coolent leak
olliesgrandad replied to Amer's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hi Amer, Sorry to hear of your woes. You say this is a recent purchase. Did you buy it privately or from a dealer - if so was there any warranty with it? The fact that there was no antifreeze suggests that the seller was aware of the problem when they sold you the car.... If bought recently from a garage without warranty then please read up on your statutory rights... -
I haven't received any paperwork or assistance cards yet despite having made 2 payments and existing warranty expired last Thursday. I rang them and they said it would automatically continue but they don't send out the paperwork and cards for 10 days! Just so you don't wonder why nothing arrives initially.

I concur with the previous comments regarding tyres and have been running Cross Climates since last October and they are a vast improvement over the factory Dunlops. All my tyres are wearing evenly. In respect of hybrid driving please view the Lexus video on YouTube which will point you in the right direction.

First question, Have you legal cover on your policy - if so they will deal with getting your excess back and any other incidental expenses. Secondly. Contact your insurers and let them deal with the 3rd parties insurers. Tell them that you will be using your own repairer. I did this a year ago when my wife had a bump. The repairer we used (recommended to us) was very good and supplied a loan car foc. (normally the loan car included in the policy is dependent on using the insurers repairer). Clearly this is a no fault claim so shouldn't hopefully affect your ncb.

Yes you do have a choice of repairer and I strongly suggest an approved Lexus Bodyshop.,having had a really bad experience with insurers repairer a couple of years ago. You may not get a loan car, but if you have legal protection in your policy with a no fault claim they should cover the cost of a loan car.

If you don't need tyres urgently and want cross Climates why not wait around until Michelin are next doing their cash back offer. I've done it twice now and they give you a preloaded debit card. Usually do these offers twice a year. For 4 tyres on both my GS and RX I got £100 back both times. Ended up costing £650 for 4 Cross Climates from my local independent dealer Chris Mullins in Gloucester.

Turned my phone on this morning to find that the My Lexus has gone and replaced with Lexus Link. Appears to be as useful as a chocolate fireguard as all my vehicle history not longer appears available. Any one else got any comments please.

As a shareholder in a solar cooperative I believe sustainable energy production i s needed. However I am very much against personally owning an EV due to the charging issues. The planners will also have to get their act together. My local Council insist on cycle storage and discounted bicycle vouchers with new build, but garages and suitable parking spaces for charger points aren't even considered. To me the self charging hybwis the most practical alternative at this time.

CVT gearbox...is there a 'knack' to driving one?
olliesgrandad replied to Sloth's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Sorry I haven't read this thread fully, but I have owned 3 different Lexus models and love the CVT gearbox. There is an excellent video by Lexus on YouTube covering driving techniques for hybrids. Well worth a watch to get the best from your new purchase. I usually drive in normal mode and engage 'sport' for overtaking. Don't forget you will have a lot more power with the ES. I had a, 2015 GS300h and that was a great car. I'm told the ES is even better so enjoy. -
To me the OP has fitted the best possible tyres for the vehicle on the front. He lives in Scotland not renowned for mild dry winters. He clearly gives his car the best in servicing and maintenance so why scrimp on 2 things that keep you attached to Mother earth. The car will handle so much better on matching tyres especially in Scottish weather. They claim that Cross Climates Last 11,000 more miles than the competitors so that makes them an even better buy. I have done 12000 miles on mine since October and they are barely worn.
