  1. Just be sure to check that the car has had the spark plugs changed at 60000 miles or the age related time. That service at Lexus is £745
  2. My dealer does the 15% off everything. I am now doing less mileage 22000 per annum so 2 services a year which means I make a huge saving on servicing but keeps the extended warranty conditions.
  3. Audi used to fit only one rear fog light on the A4 Avant, but strangely if you drilled out the blanking plastic over the lens in the boot the bulb holder and wiring just needed a bulb inserted to have 2 fog lights. 190e Mercedes were even better as you only had to install a bulbfowa 2nd rear fog light.
  4. Chris Mullins Tyres, Bristol Road, Gloucester is where I normally go. Give them a ring ask for Chris and say that Les Abbott told you to talk about Cross Climate deals. Could be worth a trip out to the Cotswolds. He is price wise extremely competitive with the likes of Protyre(He used to work for them).
  5. Just booked my car in for the big Service. Through Gold membership here the saving is a whopping £111. A reminder of the huge benefits of subscribing here.
  6. They are aware of this having been involved with the remedial work on my current vehicle including refurbishment of my wheels and repainting of the tailgate.
  7. I do 170 miles in a working day so won't be wanting to buy a Leaf as I like to get home before nightfall 🏡
  8. There are people out there who just use a nice car for special occasions. In 2002 I paid £15500 for a 10 year old Mercedes 300ce. It came with Mercedes warranty and had covered a total of 10000 miles. Servicing was done at main dealer every year, oil and filters and age related items and all receipts were present. The car wasn't even run in and you would never find another. How do you value a car like that which had cost the previous owner £42000 in 1992.(today around £100,000 plus I suspect). If you want the best of the best sometimes you have to pay over the odds.
  9. I totally agree. For some inexplicable reason Lexus Dealers don't seem to prepare cars to the standard that they are meant to under The Lexus Approved Scheme.
  10. Try Meguirs APC followed by Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner.
  11. Unfortunately yes - just grew my Grandson enough to not require a child car seat - then he got a a baby sister 👶. 😊😊😊
  12. Exactly. My understanding is to never drive all the time in eco mode as it is not intended for constant use. I wonder if giving it a blast cleared the cat out. The smell is like rotten eggs?
  13. Have you considered chipsaway or similar. Two holes in the rear bumper of my GS 300h (garden gate slamming into it) cost less than £200 to fix including painting the bumper.
  14. The online service checker never works. Use the phone app which is now called Lexus Link. That is fairly new replacing My Lexus App. Initially it was missing service history but is now there
  15. Really surprised you don't like the beige mats. My car leads a hard life doing 3 to 600 miles a week and they still look great after almost 30000 miles of use. I often don't bother vacuuming them, just take them out, shake them off and wipe over with a microfibre and Meguirs APC. I think they look much nicer than the black which always seem to look dusty when worn.
  16. Looks lovely. Please tell us more 👍
  17. I have to say my car bought on description from Derby needed 2 weeks in the bodyshop to get it to Lexus Approved standard. Lexus dealers seem to be a rather lax on preparation compared to other manufacturers approved used. When I picked up my IS300h it had to immediately go back into the workshop as it had been driven into a fence in the dealerships compound between me buying it and picking it up removing a big section of the front valence . No one bothered to tell me!!!!
  18. Wouldn't personally use ATS. Have you a Protyre nearby. They have great 4 wheel alignment kit usually. I use Chris Mullins in Gloucester but that is a long way from you 😭
  19. Spot on, hybrids are much better mpg wise in warm weather.
  20. I am 6 foot tall and have driven a number of CT200's over the last 3 years. I had a 2018 model for a couple of weeks, drove 2000 miles and had no issues. Think that dropping the drivers seat right down should help you. Try different models if that doesn't work as the seat adjustments vary between models. The last one I drove was a fairly base model and that had the most comfortable seats I recollect.
  21. Are you brimming up and calculating tankful to tankful or are you going by the computer? You certainly need to check by the former method over a few tankfuls to get a true reading. Don't use the car in Eco mode and only use Sport if you want to do a fast overtake. Unless you are driving like Clarkson you should achieve above 30mpg in normal use. Watch the YouTube video by Lexus on driving a hybrid. That will assist you in getting better mpg.
  22. New grill surround piece looks likely . If you don't want to repair the paintwork chipsaway is a good bet to get it sorted in less than a day.
  23. Yes they can. Reinventing the wheel at Tewkesbury I know does this and an acquaintance had them do this successfully on a Range Rover Sport. I'm sure someone near you can do it.
