  1. Please view the Lexus hybrid driving technique video on YouTube. Driving a hybrid requires a different technique to the 'old fashioned' motor car.
  2. When I was in the police on nights one cold and wet Christmas Eve the River Severn flooded. I was in an unmarked Land Rover inside a road closure area. Some dipstick in an Audi A6 thought it would be a clever idea to ignore the road closure, drove around the barriers and signs and past me without noticing the house in front of me had water half way up the front door and that the water was up to my door bottoms (as I had not gone in any deeper). The water was half way up his windows when he stopped. The AA recovery arrived 4 hours later. Merry Christmas.. 🎅
  3. The bottom picture is a Lexus publicity shot
  4. I run my Cross Climates at 2.5 bar and they are wearing nice and evenly over nearly 22,000 miles. I shan't bother swapping the wheels around but will just replace the fronts when required. Like you the original Dunlops were wedging and the car is so much better on the Michelin's. I'm sure you'll get the full benefit of them this winter down in Devon 👍
  5. I had the same problem with my car under used car warranty and a claim was rejected by warranty. The claim then went to customer relations and Lexus refurbished the wheels as new wheels weren't available. I spoke to the company doing the work who advised that the lacquer coating wouldn't last. They asked me to visit them and showed me a shadow chrome which looks like a Lexus finish. I managed to get them powder coated after speaking with Lexus Cheltenham so now more durable and look great. My car was 4 years old. Yours is still under warranty. Push to get it sorted. The bubbling on my wheels was around the centre caps just like yours.
  6. It won't have been repaired by a Lexus Dealer as the car is deemed to be beyond economical repair by the insurer . All manufacturers warranty of any sort is void from that time.
  7. Have you seen the RX450h publicity pics driving through water?
  8. I think Lexus Cheltenham charged me £23 for all 3 fitted in March when my car was Mot'd.
  9. I had a set of Primacy 4s on my GS300h and they were very good. Cross Climates now on my RX which have done 21000 miles and wearing evenly. Between 3.6 and 4mm on fronts and 6.5 mm on rear at service 2 weeks ago.
  10. You are probably right. When my RX was serviced 2 weeks ago I had a very high spec UX f sport as a loan car. Beautifully finished I must say. No doubt be for sale shortly as it had done around 5000 miles
  11. I know someone who scrimped on servicing an almost new Ford which if Ford serviced would have had a component replaced as a routine update. The wrecked engine was the result of the local garage not having access to the latest service bulletin from the factory. From the other perspective if I were in a Mercedes it would be serviced by my local indy who I have known for 30 years as he was service manager with MB and then Ferrari and his techs are all time served MB guys.
  12. Don't forget that a lot of Lexus dealers discount almost everything to gold members. Cheltenham give 15%. I just saved £111+ on my 60000 miles service 😊
  13. Have you tried putting gummi phledge or similar on all the door seals. The NX especially in f sport trim is going to have a firmer ride than other models so perhaps when warm the firm suspension magnifies the noise as the metal body panels have expanded. To be honest finding the source is not going to be easy as sounds travel in car bodywork. Having experienced issues with other marques I know how frustrating these things are.
  14. Personally I would keep the money in the bank and pay per service getting gold member 15% each time.
  15. That's another thing I've learnt (and will probably forget). Old age never comes alone 👵
  16. I concur. I had a 2014 is 300h and a 2015 GS 300h both had far superior DAB to the far more expensive 2015 RX450 I now own. Bizarre 🤔
  17. I know that the 3 coat pearlescent white paint for my wife's Fiat 500 was £900 just for the paint to paint the front bumper blend into the wings and bonnet 😱
  18. Welcome to the forum. Where in 'The Auld Country' are you based. Sure you will find plenty of good advice here. Certainly the Lexus finish is far superior to Mercedes these days. Enjoy 😊
  19. The problem with repairing these plastic bumpers is that once they have flexed there are hidden stress areas in the bumper. It can be repaired and look great, but at a later date the paint can lose adhesion. I know this because my wife bumped the front of her pearlescent white Fiat 500 and the repair shop we chose pressurised our insurers into replacing the bumper for that reason. Why would you not want your car put back into 'as new condition'. I have experienced poor accident repairs from my insurers where the safety of the work was questionable so am totally with the OP
  20. Why not become a gold member and consider getting it serviced on the Lexus essential service scheme. You have Listers Lexus in Coventry. Listers Cheltenham give me 15% discount on virtually everything . You'll have some peace of mind then.
  21. Car went to Listers Cheltenham yesterday and I had a new UX fsport loan car. Everything completed and a reversing light bulb replaced for £1.59. They rang to say the wiper blades were smearing and should they replace them for £23 odd. I remembered they put new ones on at the end of March so declined on the basis that it was probably something on the windscreen causing the issue as the blades weren't damaged. I was therefore very happy when I picked up the car to find that they had replaced the blades FOC. Always great service at Cheltenham and with forum discount cost was all in £634 instead of £745.
  22. My local tyre dealer Chris Mullins in Gloucester told me about them and I waited a few weeks before he ordered the tyres. I've done this twice. I'm not sure if all Michelin stockists do the offers. Try googling Michelin tyre cashback offer. Think it last ran in April this year so may hopefully be on in the next few weeks. I think I got my last tyres in October.
  23. Chipsaway is probably the best option and probably cost around £200
  24. No you tell the garage in writing that you are holding them responsible for the damage and give them the opportunity to repair it (via their insurers if necessary).Make sure that you find out who owns the garage and if it is a sole trader or Limited Company. If they decline to get the car repaired then politely tell them that you will get a quote for repair and issue a summons in the small claims court to cover the cost of the repairs . I think your insurance company won't want to know unless you have legal cover as the car was in the care and control of a third party not covered under your policy.
