  2. excellent choice, enjoy trouble free motoring
  3. can not recommend anyone in particular, I would like though to inform that direct line would Not insure my car if it wasn't fitted with tracker. interesting
  4. My lexus dealer advised me to use the cheapest I could find
  5. A 911 has no logical place in the current era and motoring conditions, A fast Lexus is a much better option in my books
  6. hello and welcome I wouldn't worry about the initial running, just drive it as normal and enjoy it
  7. a thanks. yes, but BMW does significant discounts and 0%PCP that in Net Present Value reduces the price even further. I have made this complaint to Lexus before. in USA Lexus is less expensive than the comparable BMW. Here it is surprisingly more expensive. As I have said in a another thread, lexus CT is a bargain in the Lexus range - hence I got this one for my wife -. The rest of the range is not as competetively priced. Still beautiful vehicles, but a bit overpriced
  8. better specification in larger vehicles with more powerful engines for the - real, not the RRP - money.
  9. well, i have the CT for one year now - for the wife - and had a 730d from March 2015 till last month. Before that had a lexus GS250 and an IS250 I am waiting the 740d xdrive msport early September, immediately when 67plate kicks in. All vehicles bought brand new the GS building quality was superior. Was also smoother cruiser at speeds up to 80mph aBMWnd much quieter ( tyre noise in the bimmer was much louder) BMW was obviously much much faster ( and that is why I do not really believe that IS250 0-60 is in the low 7's as the 730d is around 6.5 and felt like a rocket in comparison) and was holding the road better in fast turns, higher speeds etc ( had the adaptive sport suspension) BMW reliability not bad but a few hickups. To start with, some annoying noises very early when driving on uneven ground. GS was completely silent . That been said, CT does squeak as well, so a bit disappointed there BMW spec much better. the infotainement though once a month would go suddenly off for about a minute. No satnav, nothing. Then it would start over again on its one. HUD stopped on a couple of occasions ( bizzarly after I put diesel on a specific gas station , after stop visiting this, never had a problem with HUD. weird stuff) Brand image, much to my surprise BMW was is way ahead. Nobody could care less about the GS, had people at work asking me about the 7 series real life MPG BMW was about 39, mostly motorway. The GS was about 29 hope that helps edit: and the BMW speedometer is much more accurate than Lexus. Real 30mph is 31 in BMW and 33-34 in Lexus
  10. Hi spacewagon. what would you like to discuss about BMW reliability etc?
  11. surely that can't be right my skoda citigo is faster than IS250 if 80-120km/h on 5th gear takes 18.3, not to mention the 28.6 on 6th gear
  12. I guess after the first year playing with the new toy, they realised they can not go anywhere further than the local chipshop before battery anxiety kicks in
  13. is 250 0-60 is 8.3 is it not? I used to have this vehicle for a couple of months before I switch to the GS250, it didn't feel any faster than that. Was just fine, but no where near 7 seconds
  14. currently I think much of the excitement on M5 comes from the extras; the sound system, the semi-autonomous driving, the odd telephone, text or email. that kind of stuff.
  15. well, if you look for excitement on M5, even a Ferrari will be boring!
  16. checked it and you are right, so i stand corrected. Truth be told, I though the relation between CT and IS was the same as between Auris and Corolla but it looks I am wrong. That been said, CT has the same platform as NX, ( or even avensis) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_MC_platform and NX has the 300h engine , so there you go
  17. i still dont understand why they can not put the 300h engine. in all honesty, IS is the same care with a boot
  18. like the new screen, the question as always is pricing, offers and spec
  19. have you checked the GS250 with the smooth V6? even better value if you find a good example
  20. ..by the way, I think that the whole driving experience thing is a bit overestimated. I am waiting for a car and as my wife loves her CT, for the last couple of weeks ( and until september the first) I am using a skoda citigo automatic to drive up and down the country well, it does drive me around and the more the miles go by, the less I think I need much more from a car. I wonder if we are all marketing victims...
