  1. I understand that but my point was to do with the car's monitoring system. If one were to connect directly to the battery terminals it would not pass current through the battery monitoring module. I agree it makes no difference to the charging of the battery but does to the car's system. Mercedes workshop files state to connect across the BMM so it and the car system knows the battery is being charged.
  2. Hmmm there's something special about those lazy old V8s nothing sounds quite like them 😎
  3. Currently but who knows in the future? My comment was more V8s generally though
  4. Could it be that by connecting via a body part the battery monitoring module (if fitted) can detect the recharge, so the car's systems know? Certainly with my Mercedes it was always recommended to do so, for that very reason. In fact that's how the Mercedes dealer fitted the CTEK permanent charger connections for me.
  5. Their value is likely to drop, initially, until they become rare enough to be desirable to those who can afford the inevitable high taxes linked to owning/driving them, then as classics their value will rise. Get in now, while prices drop
  6. Putting tint over the dials will only reduce the light coming from them. You need to reduce the amount of light falling onto the dials/screens. Maybe some sort of anti-glare film (a matte effect) may help. I thought this was applied to the multimedia screen as a standard (people have commented on it coming/wearing off after 'enthusiastic' cleaning. Have you tried speaking with Lexus?
  7. Don't you mean the base RC has Tahara synthetic leather, (with the option of the leather pack giving smooth leather) ? The brochure you linked clearly shows the F-Sport RC comes with smooth leather as standard
  8. Plus a leather pack option on the Luxury spec, giving smooth leather seats
  9. Well, the full spec sheet I downloaded when deciding on my 2019 (face-lift) purchase shows smooth leather seat material for both the F-Sport and the Takumi grade.
  10. Sorry but I think you have it wrong there! I had the first RC F-Sport and now have the facelift F-Sport and they have exactly the same leather seats. Lexus has never to my knowledge ever advertised 'fake' leather as leather, they always have been clear that it is leather 'look'
  11. F-Sport with Takumi pack will have the same seats as the 'simple' F-Sport. Takumi pack only adds the tech from the Takumi grade. As stated, semi aniline is an uncoated leather, wonderful to touch but a real pain to keep clean. I had the Merc equivalent in my C class and had to clean the seats every week... (and not with your standard leather cleaners!)
  12. It's all a mystery, a lottery... I went from a 2.7ltr cdi to a 5.5ltr supercharged V8 and the insurance dropped £150, all else unchanged? It then went up with the RC only to drop to it's lowest ever a year later.
