  1. How have you started the car on previous occasions? Personally I wouldn't recommend sitting with the car in Accessory mode as you have found you run down the 12v battery. Much better would be to leave the car in Ready mode, in Park and let the car manage the traction battery charge level by running the ICE as needed. Additional benefit is the climate control still keeps one cool/warm ...
  2. Sounds like you are experiencing "tyre skip" the shallow stiff sidewalls of low profile tyres tend to judder when on full lock. When I first experienced it I thought I'd run over a brick!!
  3. One doesn't need to erase or delete the app, simply switch off (deselect) the emergency notification option. Or one can select the level of impact that triggers the notification low (car park ding), medium (low urban speed collision), high (motorway speed collisions)
  4. Doubtful. What update did the car get? Have you tried a hard reset of the multimedia system? (press and hold the volume button)
  5. When I looked at these 6 months back independent online reports suggested 9+ months for factory orders, so hopefully they are improving.
  6. Probably not (certainly not from the AA) for the cover offered?
  7. What's the delivery timescale for these, are they immune to the delays experienced by other marques?
  8. Don't forget the valet as well, inside and out....
  9. Police say that the cameras are there to provide supporting evidence and each case would be assessed to see if a prosecution was warranted. If the vehicle in question was found to be fitted with a type approved (i.e. factory fitted) exhaust then no penalty. That said the driver could still be persecuted for other related offences ....
  10. Did setting the voice guidance volume to minimum render it inaudible? My concern would be that although inaudible it would still interrupt music etc.?
  11. My experience with Lexus Swindon, not with service costs as I have always had a service plan but with purchasing consumables I have always been given a discount even without asking! Last time was 30% off screen wash and before that 50% off wiper blades. No complaints from me 😉
  12. From my handbook (it's essentially the same as stated in the RC300h handbook as well) Switching to EV drive mode when the gasoline engine is cold If the hybrid system is started while the gasoline engine is cold, the gasoline engine will start automatically after a short period of time in order to warm up. In this case, you will become unable to switch to EV drive mode. After the hybrid system has started and the “READY” indicator has illuminated, press the EV drive mode switch before the gasoline engine starts to switch to EV drive mode. When leaving early in the mornings, so as not to disturb the neighbours, I always switch to EV mode. I have to press the EV mode button before the ICE starts (that would be approx 8-10 seconds after the Ready light illuminates were I not to force EV mode) and I can drive in EV mode until the speed exceeds 20mph, or I depress the accelerator past a certain point. What I have observed is that when the ICE is cold and fires up it is still the traction battery providing motive power (according to the energy monitor display) for quite a significant time, presumably to allow the ICE fluids to warm up before putting the ICE under load. As the ICE joins to provide motive power there is a very slight surge in acceleration and both the ICE and traction battery work together for approx 30sec before the ICE takes over completely providing both motive power and recharging the traction battery. As I live a the bottom of a relatively steep hill this all happens with the drive systems under load. The descent to my house is great for regenerative braking and topping up the traction battery before parking up! Damned clever these Japanese 🤓 👍
  13. I can echo many of your sentiments Dan, the RX has also changed my driving style. I'm not in a hurry anymore but I still arrive 'on time'. The RX is a deceptively rapid car. The high driving position, the near total silence and supreme comfort masks the rapid progress that V6 delivers. The perceived size of the car was a little daunting to start with but I threaded it through the narrow Cornish lanes without worry and at a pace too!
  14. Have a read of these threads on the same subject of delivery times
  15. My comment "being all the same in the end " was regarding the actual supplier of the roadside service. The 'service' I'm buying is branded Lexus and it's Lexus I would be approaching regarding any concerns etc appertaining to the roadside service. The AA are great at the spannering but not sure about the customer service etc.. Bit like buying a TV from John Lewis instead of from Currys. One just know one gets better service from JL. That said I just purchased screen wash from my dealership and was given 30% discount without comment. 👍 Despite being a'loyal AA member' (their words) for 40+yrs they wouldn't entertain any price reduction on my continuing subscription, wouldn't suspend my subscription for the duration of my Lexus new car warranty etc.. The Lexus pricing is far more appealing for the cover offered, no way could the AA match that like for like.
  16. Or just purchase online from Lexus (it's all the same in the end) but I prefer to deal with what is Lexus branded, ( if that makes sense!) despite being a member of the AA for over 40yrs previously... https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/roadside-assistance
  17. Definitely needed coding on my Merc but if one didn't bother the car would learn over approx 200-400 miles Who did the injectors? Perhaps take it back and get them to sort it?
  18. The S on the shifter will put the e-CVT transmission into simulated manual transmission, where one can use the paddles to 'change gear'. The eco/drive/sport selector changes the drive mode altering the suspension stiffness, the throttle response and the steering speed. Using the paddles when not using the S on the shifter simply increases/decreases the engine braking response All detailed in the handbook, well worth the read https://www.lexus.co.uk/customer/manuals?hideNav=true&hideFooter=true
  19. With regards to other drivers the prime intention is head-on approach awareness as closing speed is far greater than approach from the rear. There's also the potential for confusion with brake lights when the rears are illuminated. One cannot regulate for stupid. Speaking of which I had the pleasure this morning at 05:45, in the misty darkness, of witnessing an approaching single large light that turned out to be a car with no lights except the one functioning nearside headlamp. No positional lamps, no rear lamps or brake lights ...
  20. You can rule out power supply interference then Suggest you get the codes read, see if the module is functioning, the amp is ok and the antenna is powered
  21. Or can they?? ... "In general all other lights should remain off when the DRL are on but for a limited period some vehicles may be available which automatically activate the rear position lamps at the same time as the DRL." https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/daytime-running-lights/daytime-running-lights
  22. Do you have a dash cam fitted?
  23. Could one not set the Nav guidance volume at minimum in the first page shown, would that be then inaudible?
  24. No, the RX I bought a couple months or so back.
  25. There was no mention of costs but as another mentions the previous survey was regarding using Toyota as a service centre
