  1. See the link in my post above...
  2. You might find this thread enlightening, regarding replacing the sensor battery
  3. Simple(?) question, how long does the Manufacturer Warranty last on your Lexus? OK, slightly misleading thread as I know we all know it's 3yrs/100,000 miles from first registration. Seems Lexus are not included in this knowledgeable group. Or is this just another example of the appalling proof reading of Lexus published documents? After reading through the T&Cs surrounding the Additional Warranty (Relax) provided after each annual dealership service I noticed this in the definitions section. e) "Manufacturer Warranty" means the 3-year/60,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty that all new Lexus vehicles sold on or after 1 June 2021 receive as standard, or, 5-year/100,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty that all new Lexus vehicles sold before 1 June 2021 receive as standard, commencing from the vehicle's first registration date. The length of your Manufacturer Warranty, together with full terms and conditions, are detailed in your Owner's Manual; f) "Owner's Manual" means the user manual provided to the customer that is specific to the model and age of the purchased Lexus vehicle. To find the Owner's Manual for your vehicle, please use the following link: https://www.Lexus.co.uk/customer/manuals; Now reading this I thought, OK, so my RX actually has another 3yrs manufacturer warranty, being first sold before 1st June 2021 Following the link to the Owner's Manual gives the usual handbook we are all familiar with. Nothing in there about the warranty. No, that's detailed in the Service Book and in mine it clearly states 3yrs/100k miles. So, two errors in the first 1/2 page of the T&Cs, doesn't engender confidence in the details contained within the following 7.5 pages... 4. What Herbs says. By the time you have scraped the ice from the screen the seat will be toasty. If you have it, switch on the heated steering wheel as well 👍 My routine is to start the car, switch on the heated rear screen and mirrors, switch on the heated seat and steering wheel, get out and remove the frost from the front and side screens by which time the rear screen is clearing and the seat and wheel are warm. Not experienced frost yet in my RX but am expecting the climate concierge to automatically switch on the seat 😎
  5. You need to buy a plug-in hybrid (NX450h+) Unless you park your vehicle on private land, leaving an unattended car with the internal combustion engine running is an offence. In fact leaving the ICE idling anywhere can be considered an offence. Different in North America, where Lexus models come with remote start as standard
  6. From the warranty T&Cs 12. Types of damage or defects not covered by the Additional Warranty include but are not limited to: b) Damage or defects as a result of any wear and tear, excessive free play, noise and/or vibration; https://www.lexus.co.uk/content/dam/lexus/nmsc/united-kingdom/owners/warranty/extended-warranty-with-servicing/Lexus-Warranty-TCs-06-2022.pdf
  7. The price you are asking ...
  8. The S transmission mode is not the same as the S (Sport) mode as selected with the dial. One can only engage the transmission S mode by moving the shift lever to the right whilst in D
  9. Do you mean at the bottom of the selector indication panel? That slot is to manually release the shifter in event of malfunction in the shift lock system. If this isn't what you are referring to can you post an image?
  10. If it functions this way by design, why would Lexus replace the unit under warranty? Bigger speaker doesn't equate to louder sound, it has to be driven by the amplifier. The possible only solution would be to replace the existing amplifier with an after-market offering but IMHO you would kill any resale value on such a new car.
  11. Has it changed with the new models as S transmission mode only changes the transmission, the S drive mode changes the steering, suspension etc on my cars?
  12. Using S mode set by the transmission selector enables one to use the steering wheel paddle shifters to select the (artificial ) gear range, jut as if one was driving a manual transmission car. The car will intervene if one tries to change at too high or too low a speed and (in my RC at least) would change down automatically to prevent the engine labouring. I used the S transmission mode to allow me to "down-shift" in preparation to overtake. The engine revs rise and acceleration is more urgent. The 'gear' changes are very PlayStation like, instantaneous, very responsive. It's fun but not really in character with the car, IMHO. Mostly though I just let the car sort it all out whilst in full Auto D mode. Both my handbooks (for the RC and the RX) are quite detailed in explaining the difference between S mode transmission and S drive mode and the use of the addles in each setting.
  13. It certainly is possible in my 2019 RX. Go to the owners page on the Lexus website and download the handbook for your new car ok it may not be the exact version for the car, depending on when the car is built and delivered but it will give a wealth of information on what to expect and while away many hours as you wait for your new car
  14. Put the bag in the boot?
  15. I asked my dealer about this just last week. Tech docs do show (at least for my RX) that there are lower speed modes available, from as low as 9mph, there's urban mode with extra wide beam pattern and pedestrian anti-dazzle pattern, etc... Unfortunately none of these are available for cars programmed for the EU/UK. Techstream does not list them, the dealer tech did check when he disabled the easy entry mode on my car.
  16. Using the seat belt buckle? And the warning still goes off?
  17. Perhaps the level has only just dropped enough to cause the trigger? If the oil level is ok when measured 5-10 min after the engine (at full operating temp) is switched off and the car on level ground I wouldn't worry 👍
  18. Indeed, no complaints from me, they don't do it deliberately to annoy, unlike Reginald Molehusband in his modern day Austin 1100
  19. Yes, expecting too much. Not sure how it could compensate for inclination (in which direction and by how much?)
  20. Driving home along the M4 early evening, little traffic about so engaged the (radar) cruise control relaxed in the comfort of not having to keep checking my speed (the RX is so quiet, so easy to speed!). When approaching slow heavy goods vehicles, check mirrors and indicate to overtake (before the radar slows us down) move past no hassle. Come up to a slower private cars, do the same but 9 times out of 10 the slower car starts to accelerate as I move to pass (almost as if my 'bow wave' is pushing it forward) so I have to accelerate slightly to pass. Once passed I indicate to return to my lane, lift off and drop back to the set speed and the passed car slowly recedes in the mirrors. Now why do drivers do this? Is it they are awoken from their distraction as they see me approach and think (subconsciously?) they should 'push on'? Lorry drivers never do this. Occasionally the passed car will accelerate pass me only to drop back again and need to be passed again, irritating...
  21. But not as the main driver, that's 'fronting' and fraudulent https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/legal/fronting-and-car-insurance/#:~:text=should be avoided.-,What is fronting%3F,is a younger%2C riskier motorist .
  22. Can it be done by Techstream? DRLs should always be on when engine is running which in a hybrid is when the car is in the Ready state, the engine may or may not be actually running
  23. Do you not restrain you dog when in the car? I always fit ours with harness and clip him into the seatbelt buckle.
  24. Simply changes the throttle attenuation? Just like switching drive mode from Normal to Sport or Sport+
  25. Even real leather, unless semi aniline, is totally impervious to surface treatments as it is coated and sealed with PU. A quick test to check is to place a drop of water on the surface, away from any seam or perforation. If the droplet just sits there you have a coated and sealed leather that requires no special conditioner. If the droplet is absorbed you have a 'naked' leather that will require very special and careful cleaning and conditioning, lots of hard work, believe me. I had my Mercedes retrimmed in a naked Nappa leather, felt wonderful and smelt glorious but my word did it need attention..
