  1. But you don't incur any interim price rise on the car?
  2. Make sure your insurer is OK with the increase in tyre size
  3. Have you not explored option #2 as shown in Rayaan's post above. It would seem the logical next step?
  4. Also remember in colder weather the engine will cut in simply to keep coolant temps up to supply heat to the cabin.
  5. You should be able to tell when you start the car (and it's dark!) as the headlamps will do their little 'dance' as they come on. If you have the simple on/off main beam they will just go up and down. If you have the full matrix style they will also sweep left and right. Alternatively sign up to lexus-tech.eu and input your VIN for a complete build spec.
  6. If the seat gets moved a lot back and forth, check the under-seat connections. In my RC and RX the seat wouldn't warm unless it detected someone sitting in it, so might be worth checking the occupancy sensor?
  7. Even when the T&Cs state the rate can be changed?
  8. Ok that's the easiest fix. These extra bright lamps do tend to fail more quickly than the standard versions. That said just 9 months from a reputable source seems a tad short! Check to see if you have any warranty with them?
  9. It's all detailed in your handbook under the Customisations section.
  10. Full beam working ok but the dipped beam failed? Both sides? My thought would be the stalk? Contacts failed for the dipped function as they are used most frequently?
  11. Are the marks only on the top face or are there any lower down, on the vertical face? My initial thought was condensation droplets?
  12. One should only use the reset button when changing the baseline pressure. The light comes on to tell you the tyre pressure has dropped below that which you set originally If the warning comes on in the colder weather you need to pump up the tyres to restore the pressure to the correct level. The warning should then go out, without pressing the reset button
  13. Not officially maybe but ...
  14. An interesting statement, as another (with many many years experience in many different arms of motorsport) has posted, on a different forum in response to a similar comment in connection with F1 Q. "I did wonder whether the team engineers might have sufficient control to temporarily reduce power in a situation like this, to enforce team orders. Probably a thousand and one really good reasons why they’d never do it even if they could!" A. "No they can't! Only the driver can alter the car settings via the steering wheel when it is on the circuit, so there is no way the engineers can play 'god' with the cars. They can only control (a limited number of things) when the car is hard wired in the pit box. The telemetry from car to pits is very strictly a one way system!"
  15. Be careful doing the OTA update as it can break the speed camera alert function. Only remedy is to reload via USB, or the dealership who really don't like doing map updates as it can take a couple of hours...
  16. The supplementary tax will be incurred on cars with a list price of over £40k on the date of first registration, not the date of placing the order.
  17. Log in and go to the Repair section, then at the bottom of the Free access list click on Vehicle specifications
  18. https://www.lexus-tech.eu/Default.aspx
  19. 👍 “happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have” (Rabbi Hyman Schachtel (1954))
  20. The cut-out in the front camera image is designed to discourage driving by viewing the image alone. The clarity should be the same as the rear, check it lens is clean and condensation free. Regarding the kick function for the rear door, check the owner's handbook, the section covering customisable functions. It will show how/if this can be done. Might be a dealer only coding.
  21. Only the plug-in hybrids have pre-conditioning
  22. Mmmm.. I found the AVS on my RC300h was far superior to the AIRmatic on my CLS55. The AMG was very compliant and but did dip and lean far more than the RC, which was totally flat under cornering and braking. But then there was 16yrs between the two cars.. I find the drive modes in the Lexus (both the RC and now the RX) far more differentiated than those in the Merc, it was difficult to differentiate the modes in the AMG but then it was a far more performance oriented model..
  23. My spare is turned off in my wife's handbag and the card key and my key are in a Faraday box. I don't give it a second thought anymore. If thieves want a particular car, they will find a way to steal it. An acquaintance had his front door smashed in and he and his wife threatened for the keys, which he handed over straightaway.
  24. Exactly this, the Toyota version of the warranty seems very similar but still not an excuse for poor checking. This is on top of major errors in brochures and specification literature. When I brought a number of errors in the 2019 RC brochure to the attention of Lexus UK they simply offered me free mats and boot liner! I think though that the content of T&Cs should be triple checked, I'm sure their legal department would agree.
