  1. Go to the Nextbase website and download the operating instructions
  2. Make sure the dealership also zeros (centres) the electric steering ECU I had similar problem with my RC and it only got fixed after having the ADAS recalibration when the windscreen was replaced.
  3. How did you do this? What battery info screen? I don't believe one can program out an error
  4. Not sure how the tester can force the ICE to run to perform the test?
  5. I didn't think you had. My point being the chief engineer didn't say there was no cat, just that there was less rare metals present, reducing the appeal to thieves. Thieves that have been targeting cats, not heard of many computer parts being stolen for the rare metals? I'm curious though as to how the car will comply with EU regulations? That said hybrid vehicles do not undergo emission tests (in the UK a least) presently. Should that change in the future could they pass without cats?
  6. This sentence doesn't really support the first statement in the article?
  7. I use Lexus Swindon and have always had the very best experience, highly recommended. That's not just with routine servicing but also ad-hoc enquires and purchasing consumables, quick efficient service from knowledgeable staff. Usually get a discount on the consumables (wipers, screen wash) as well 👍 Regarding your dealer's reluctance to do the transaxle oil change, if it's not a Lexus requirement, them doing it could leave them open to any possible subsequent consequences, without Lexus support/contribution?
  8. Wow! £4900 for the 2500kg mover, plus installation Neat idea though, if you have sufficient hardstanding in front of your garage (our's is all gravel...) https://www.myparker.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/brochure-2020.pdf
  9. The ES handbook for 2019 states .. "Cruise control can be set when Vehicle speed is at or above approximately 30 km/h (20 mph)" So I'd guess the answer would be no, as it already engages at or very close to, 20mph Or do you have Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range? In which case have you tried enabling the cruise control and then gradually reducing the speed to 20mph? Personally I would not rely on cruise control to prevent speeding as the prime reason for it's operation is to maintain a set speed, which doesn't allow easy control as traffic conditions change. I really liked to speed limiter function in my Mercedes which allowed driver total control below the set speed. I believe Lexus have implemented true speed limiter functionality in their most current models?
  10. Speaking with my good lady wife she tells me that her contact lenses don't feel as 'dry' when travelling in the the RX, as compared with other cars with a/c. So maybe the Nanoe X does do something? Not that I personally have noted anything except I have set the cabin temperature 2 degrees higher than I had in the RC to feel as comfortable, both in the hot weather and in the cold. Maybe this is a side effect of the Nanoe X injection of humidified air?
  11. Mine doesn't get as warm as the one in my 2019 RC300h did but that said it's warm enough to take the chill from the wheel and warm my hands after clearing the windscreen of frost. Bear in mind if one switches on the rear window and exterior mirror defogger the steering wheel heating is suspended.
  12. I wonder how that works? The Nanoe unit discharges the ions into the outlet of the driver's side dash vent, so at the end of the airflow? If one has the climate control set to Auto (from Lexus.eu doc) Fresh Air Introduction While Parking System i. While parking, fresh air introduction mode is automatically selected to enhance ventilation and reduce any odor remaining in the air conditioning unit, thus odor during engine start-up is minimized. I'm not sure how the system detects/defines 'Parking'?
  13. As a long haired 18yr old I had all my driving lessons at night. Quite a shock when I took my test in broad daylight! I loved driving at night, as @m4rkw mentions other cars were easier to see, especially on unlit country roads where one could easily judge if safe to take that bend on the 'wrong' side of the road. My heavily modified Imp carried six Cibie lamps. 2 x Z beam headlamps, 2 x Super Oscars and 2 x Oscar fogs. I had to upgrade the charging circuit to supply the current required. Talk about night and day 😎 I guess my triple beam LEDs on the RX would easily outshine those 70's Cibies
  14. I remember my father complaining about the brightness of the newfangled halogen headlamps that appeared in the 70s. The old tungsten lamps were pitiful next to these new sealed beam units. As headlamps become increasingly brighter the unlit areas become increasingly darker (relatively speaking) and as one's eyes become older they cannot cope so well with the high contrast. The old tungsten lamps didn't throw such deep shadows, they were after all only marginally lighter than the surrounding darkness! The current crop of LED headlamps are laser bright in comparison and cars approaching on an uphill right-hand bend cannot help but temporarily blind. Never mind the all-seeing AI cameras guiding our driverless transport of the future will see us safely home ....
  15. Dirt doesn't harm the car. Cleaning it can ..
  16. Now why could we not have these screens on our Lexus? (ignoring the fact it's not a Japanese company...) https://www.saint-gobain-sekurit.com/and-preserving-our-future/enabling-sustainable-mobility/climacoatr
  17. From the warranty T&Cs Hybrid Components (when above 5years and 100,000 miles base warrant cover): Hybrid Battery Control Module; Hybrid Control Module; and Hybrid inverter with converter. https://www.lexus.co.uk/content/dam/lexus/nmsc/united-kingdom/owners/warranty/extended-warranty-with-servicing/Lexus-Warranty-TCs-06-2022.pdf Keep in mind this appears to be a cut & paste document created from the standard Toyota warranty and there are numerous contradictions and 'errors' such as "The Additional Warranty covers the same parts and labour as the Manufacturer Warranty" (where the Additional Warranty is defined as a warranty which is activated automatically on completion of a scheduled full or interim vehicle service at an Authorised Lexus Repairer aka Lexus Relax) I bet a good lawyer could have a great time arguing these T&Cs should one wish to pursue them with Lexus invoking the usual "errors and omissions" clause ...
  18. I have it in my RX and can honestly say I've not noticed any difference over not having it enabled.
  19. Do you not have the Auto-recirc function? I have mine set to auto everything and must say not needed to adjust anything 'on-the-fly', except maybe the front windscreen defogger on initial start-up.
  20. In every car I have owned with climate control, the a/c would be disabled at temperatures below approx 5c to protect the condenser, to prevent it freezing solid.
  21. The system allows for activation at lower speeds, down to 9mph but not in the EU. There are a number of different settings and beam spreads that can be used outside the EU, just that cars coded for UK/EU cannot have them activated, I've asked...
  22. I believe the climate control will set the air intake vent to 50% when the car is shut down, so the cabin isn't 'sealed' as such. There will always be some moisture in the cabin air, simply from one's breath. Then add in dampness from frost/snow covered shoes etc.. A couple of days time the temperatures will be sub-tropical (well, almost) and the condensation will be invisible again..
  23. I will be interested in how you find these after a few miles. I did consider these but thought they might be a harsh ride being optimised for low rolling resistance. I went with Continental ContiCrossContact UHP 235/55R20 102W in the end as there was no UK delivery dates for the Michelin Crossclimates. So far quite impressed, quiet and compliant.
  24. Random electrical glitches are almost certainly down to low charge in the battery. Either place the battery on charge or replace it. How old is the battery? I imagine the alarm has it's own battery back-up
