  1. Right up until the government increases the tax on it....
  2. VED rates are determined by the date the car was first registered, not the date of manufacture..
  3. One wonders why one would do this....
  4. I believe one has to have light switch in the auto position then press the Power button to shut the car down, then pull the light switch towards yourself (as if to flash the headlamps) the lights then come on for the time set in the options menu
  5. I fitted two child seats in the rear of my RC, no problems.... Getting them in in the first place was a different story!
  6. Any vehicle can be stolen so good luck in finding your next purchase 👍
  7. In my RX the parking brake is applied automatically... I only disable this function is freezing weather as advised by the handbook. Americans treat it as an emergency brake. Manufacturers wouldn't call it a Parking brake if it wasn't intended to be use when parked Use it or loose it, it may not function properly come MoT time
  8. Just download the handbook...
  9. One should always be able to open the door from inside, irrespective of the driver settings. Check page 431 of the handbook regarding conditions for opening the doors from the inside. If one uses the lever it should be pulled twice, once to enable the function, the second to open the door.
  10. I don't think I'd be replacing anything until it has be diagnosed properly using Techstream
  11. Did it show pressures before the tyre change? How soon after the tyre change did the warning light come on? Have you checked the tyre pressures manually?
  12. Mercedes in particular are suffering from very unreliable electrics, also alloy wheels that split at the slightest bump and don't go anywhere near their offerings for hybrids! No real experience of the other German marques but these days Mercedes are built down to a price and lean heavily on past glories. As for their dealership experience ....
  13. Possibly but there are many other factors that can cause uneven tyre wear, lots of roundabouts, speed cushions etc. The rear tyres on the RC wear on the inner edges but that is normal and known to the techs but could mask suspension issues?
  14. Broken spring isn't that uncommon and would be an MOT fail
  15. Not sure how anyone can "visually" check the geometry! I had printouts from the checks my dealer did. I understood that should any adjustments be required that would be an extra charge.
  16. Yes, this is what I have done except I download the manual once the dealer tells me the VIN. By the time the car arrives I've read both handbooks cover to cover.🤓 Not that any of it sticks, one really needs a reason to research for it to make sense and stick in the mind but one certainly gets a great overview and a good idea where one should look 😄
  17. That sounds about right for the standard of Lexus documentation. In this case we could cut them some slack and says it's the american-english spelling. Something I find irritating in the extreme 😠
  18. It's all listed in your handbook under Customised Settings. It shows those that the driver can change and those that must be done by the dealership Download a copy from the Lexus website and have a good read before your car arrives 😉
  19. But it's not Lexus behaving like this but that particular dealership? My Lexus experience has been nothing but exemplary, my dealership couldn't be more accommodating.
  20. One will have paid for two keys, the second made available as pressure on supplies lifts. If one were to loose the only key I'm pretty sure they would expedite a replacement (surely they could recode any existing fobs they have?) and cut a physical blade foc. Normally if one looses a key one's insurer would pay for a replacement (depending on cover, mine does) as it's one's own 'fault', not a problem for the dealer to sort. So, in this scenario one would still only have one key after the second (replacement) is supplied.
  21. It's not Lexus but the dealership (care to tell which dealer it is?) and I would be looking to go to another dealer. Did you request a courtesy car? The £186 should be waived if it's found to be a fault due to manufacture. My dealership has never mentioned any costs on the occasions my cars have gone in for investigations whilst under 3yrs old. I have always been offered a courtesy car, or the option to collect and return the car. Find another dealer, don't tar all of Lexus with the one experience
  22. In my RC it is in the engine compartment relay block, I'm not sure it's identified as it's not something the owner would need to remove. It might be worth checking your handbook for fuse locations. Personally I think removing it would not be the better idea. Best connect a maintenance charger as Herbie suggests IMHO
  23. Speaking with my dealership yesterday I was told new cars will now be supplied with only one key fob, to reduce the number of chips required. The second key will be supplied as and when the chips supply improves...
  24. I'm surprised there's a rubber button on the door handle of a 2022 model? Isn't there just a touch sensor moulded into the handle? My RX had no issues during the freeze, the easy entry system operated flawlessly, as did my RC previously. Frost, snow and ice had no affect, except the RC's frameless door glass froze to the seal...
