  1. Lexus simply state to use a mild detergent (as for woollens) and a damp cloth to clean the leather.
  2. |Agree, regarding Gliptone cleaner. I had a full nappa retrim in my Mercedes and had to use the cleaner every week to maintain the finish, which wasn't PU coated. Not something I would have done again, too much upkeep....
  3. Gliptone cleans well and the conditioner imparts a new leather smell, not sure it actually does any conditioning though...
  4. No point as all automotive leathers are PU coated and the conditioner cannot penetrate the surface. You can do the water test, thoroughly clean the leather and place a drop of clean water on the flat surface of the leather. If it is absorbed, conditioning will work. If it simply sits on the surface, no point
  5. My RC300h has been returning a steady 42mpg on my 8 mile urban/town drives
  6. 2005 Mercedes CLK 240 ... Rust, rust and more rust....
  7. My experience precisely! I'm still baffled as to why, as you say, the ICE cuts in or not seemingly irrespective of battery level/throttle position. Possibly due to ambient and/or engine temp and a/c requirements? Agree, unless I see the EV indicator the switch between ICE and electric is undetectable. Toyota have refined their hybrid technology very well and Lexus have integrated it well into their cars. 😎
  8. I imagine there is little in the way of extra expense put into the display of the data from a sensor that is pretty much standard in any car with some form of stability control. An amusing gimmick possibly only of interest to someone who uses the car on track.
  9. DPF regenerating?
  10. Handbook has the fuse boxes located in the engine compartment front right-hand side and in the cabin under the glove box
  11. Could it be this? " Sport S mode includes a new G-sensor AI-shift control, which uses information from the vehicle’s G-sensors to select the best gear ratio for high-performance sports driving. The transmission will automatically downshift during hard braking for a corner, hold a lower gear through the corner for greater control, and then select a suitable low gear on corner exit to give the driver greater throttle response. 12. One has to give the lenses a coating of spray UV protection after polishing to remove the milky bloom, or it just comes back super-quick!
  13. On my Premium Nav equipped RC that icon allows me to change the layout and content of each section on the Home screen. Brightness etc. is a separate menu item in the Setup screen.
  14. I have had my RC300h for just 2 weeks and am loving it 😎 many compliments Curiously the rear access function didn't work on the driver's side either, bit of a coincidence ! Only noticed it a couple of days in when getting the grandchildren loaded. Dealer sorted it very quickly. Apparently it just needed initialising again.
  15. When on the Home screen, look top right you should see a icon for setting the display layout?
  16. My RC has me doing this as well 😎
  17. Not to my taste, thank you..
  18. So, why not have a system akin to headlamp assist, whereby the brake lamps are extinguished if the vehicle has been stopped for more than x seconds and the system detects a stopped vehicle behind?
  19. Constantly putting the autobox into N or P at lights is putting an awful lot more wear into the selector and the box generally. The owner's handbook always says leave in drive, unless your stop is going to be for an extended period. I can honestly say I have never been dazzled by the brake lights of the car in front in the queue and if I'm the last in the queue I'm quite conscious of drivers approaching me (at speed) and am pleased of the extra warning the illuminated brake lights (hopefully) give! Obviously different in a manual, as keeping one's foot on the clutch accelerates wear on the thrust bearing and the correct procedure is as has been mentioned above, put the car in neutral and handbrake/parking brake on
  20. Sure I read somewhere the Americans get artificial leather as standard, only genuine leather interiors as an upgrade, or only on the flagship models?
  21. I guess one has to remove the mirror housing and test the connections with a multimeter. I'm new to Lexus but on the Mercedes it was fairly quick and easy (and relatively common...)
