RC300h F-Sport 24h Test drive
NemesisUK replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Really sounds like you don't like/rate Lexus, perhaps you should be looking elsewhere? You are not going to influence their marketing strategies...- 43 replies

RC300h F-Sport 24h Test drive
NemesisUK replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
The factory order thing is common to many marques. You want that rare option combo, you can wait 3-6months even if the factory is just over the Channel.. My choice of RC was already on its way from Japan, the ship rounding the tip of India. Had I wanted that sunroof it would have been another 6 weeks for the next sailing. My dealer provided a link so I could track the ship all the way to Bristol, I knew my car was here before they did!- 43 replies

Hybrid - engine stop/start - Engine life
NemesisUK replied to polk123's topic in Engine & Transmission
That's what I was wondering, the engine run signal. Could be interesting, trying to find a pickup point for that signal. -
Odd Button
NemesisUK replied to Chosen One's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Does it also disable opening via the exterior button/handle? -
RX400h Front Windscreen
NemesisUK replied to lurch's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
AutoGlass do thousands of these screens every week, so shouldn't be a concern. I had them do my Merc screen with light and wiper sensors, no issues. always better if you can get to a depot, rather than have them come out to you. -
I left the a/c on all the time in my CLS and that did 12mpg around town, turning the a/c made no difference, except to make me rather warm and sticky!!

Auto dim mirror
NemesisUK replied to is200 Newbie's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
There is a disable button on the bottom of the mirror, from my owner's handbook (no idea if it's the same across the range) "Changing automatic anti-glare function mode ON/OFF When the automatic anti-glare function is in ON mode, the indicator illuminates. The function will set to ON mode each time the power switch is turned to ON mode. Pressing the button turns the function to OFF mode. (The indicator also turns off.)" -
Why won't Lexus bring these models to the UK
NemesisUK replied to Fatts's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Exactly, if Lexus thought there might be profit in it, they would do it. Just as any other company would... -

But would there need to be a modification to the solenoid opening trigger as the IGN is already live? -
Auto dim mirror
NemesisUK replied to is200 Newbie's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Yes, there is a light sensor behind the mirror glass and the one you refer to. When the car detects more light striking the mirror glass (must be from the headlamps of the car behind as your car interior is always darker than outside) than detected from the front facing sensor it will dim the interior and exterior mirrors. The function cancels when selecting reverse gear. -
Hybrid - engine stop/start - Engine life
NemesisUK replied to polk123's topic in Engine & Transmission
Neat idea, like it.. But sometimes there is a really significant delay between power on and ICE start,. How might it integrate with the stop/start of the ICE once up to temp and supporting the traction motor? Very little time delay to start up -
Hybrid - engine stop/start - Engine life
NemesisUK replied to polk123's topic in Engine & Transmission
Which is why I was asking about the possibility of an 'off-line' electric oil pump. Perhaps as the engine is spun up using the powerful traction motor there is significant oil pressure built up before any loads are applied to the ICE? -

Is300H Executive dash material
NemesisUK replied to Casa1862's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Was looking again today and the top of the dash, above the cluster, quite a small area but definitely soft leather, in black but the same texture and feel as the seats and centre console sides -
24 hours in the rc t200
NemesisUK replied to Carl911's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
The Mercedes SL is a grand tourer. An example of a smaller car. GT is more to do with drive characteristic i.e. effortlessly covering long distances, which the RC does. Of course this is all subjective. Having masses of power, or at least far more than can be exploited on UK roads, can be very relaxing or in my experience, frustrating. Hence my choice of the 300h over the RC-F Unless one is routinely crossing the Continent, the more modestly powered car is much kinder on one's nerves (and license!). -

24 hours in the rc t200
NemesisUK replied to Carl911's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
The RC in whatever guise is not and was never meant to be a sports car. It's a Grand Tourer and in my opinion acquits itself very well. Coming from a supercharged 5.4 V8 I can appreciate RC is not a traffic light drag star but cruising the UK's A and B roads it's very credible. Super relaxed at all legal speeds, confident through the twisties and with sufficient mid-range urge to get past those 'Sunday drivers'. Oh, and it looks the dogs danglies
