Rear-Section Filth
NemesisUK replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
I had the protection pack fitted and must say the mud flaps front and rear certainly keep the majority of the muck of the car. Yes the rear valance does get a film of road grime but no worse than many other cars. Regarding closing the boot lid, I use the interior grab handle to flip it down then quickly press on the centre of the boot top edge. Minimal dirt on hands and no tell tale prints on the boot -

My RC300h is averaging 42mpg, with only 800 miles on the clock I'm expecting it to improve as the car loosens up.. -
NX200t - 300H Black Bison kit
NemesisUK replied to LED-BOY's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Only the wheel offset stands out (see what I did there? ) to me. The rest seems quite restrained, certainly compared with some Mercedes body kits and quite possibly the RC's side skirts and rear arches. Being all black that NX actually looks quite classy IMHO -

Outrageous? I'm having trouble seeing what's been added to the standard car... -

Was he acknowledging the car, or it's driver?? -
Professional car thieves can disable a tracker very quickly, usually by jamming the signals. They are also surprisingly easy to find and disable. The very best have satellite units that sit on the CANBUS and disable the car. They are very small and can be anywhere in the wiring. Because these units don't transmit they can't be easily found. The cars have to be physically lifted away to a safe location and then stripped out to remove the unit before the car can be sold on.

Is300H Executive dash material
NemesisUK replied to Casa1862's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I use Meguiar's Quick Interior detailer spray for general maintenance, seems to shift/disguise minor marks but for something more serious I go for Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care spray. If neither of those work on your marks you could try very, very carefully applying a little steam heat to the area. Often brings dents and marks back up. A trim specialist would be my preference to correct badly marked areas -

Yes but I was responding to your post In regard to the passenger side knee/glovebox area, I've found it does mark very easily! Fortunately in my case, the marks have been removed easily with an interior detailing spray. More than can be said for the driver's inside door sill, very easily makes by shoe scuffs. Still working on how to remove those -
RC convertible (LF-C2)
NemesisUK replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
No, you missed nothing except that 'fun to drive' is subjective and tax bands, economy and service intervals are objective but the two classifications are not mutually exclusive. It's your subjective assessment of 'fun to drive' that is different from many other Lexus drivers? -

I did do my own research and that;s why I purchased the car I did. Much of what Audi offer as options, the Lexus has as standard. Yes, there may be many more options available from Audi but I did not value those enough to want them. Had it been that I did, then I would have bought the Audi Just goes to illustrate each purchaser has their own priorities and preferences. It just seems those that you project would sit better with another marque?- 43 replies

RC convertible (LF-C2)
NemesisUK replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
The vast majority of new car sales within the UK are by fleet buyers, where tax bands, economy, service interval are king. They have no feeling for 'a great drive'. That said if Lexus thought there was money to be made, directly or via a loss leader, they would be promoting that 'unpopular' model/engine/option... Nothing tp do with Lexus UK or UK,gov -

You may not be slating Lexus but you constantly express your dislike for the engines offered, the sound they do or don't make. You don't like the direction you perceive the company is taking, you find it incomprehensible that certain models/engine/option combination aren't offered on the UK market, whereas other marques do. It does beg the question, why do you still persevere with Lexus? It's a great discussion but there seems to be no positive side to your viewpoint? -

Every marque imposes restrictions on option selections and combinations. Mercedes Benz is possibly one of the worst, very 'class' differentiating. I'm sure if one marque observed another gaining sales by one tactic or another, they would soon follow suit. Case in point, electric windows, offered as standard by Japanese car manufactures in the UK market very quickly prompted/forced UK manufacturers Ford, Vauxhall etc to follow. When looking at my most recent purchase I found Lexus to offer, as standard, what many others offer as options. At first look Lexus always appeared expensive, until one optioned that MB or Audi to the same level..- 43 replies

Really sounds like you don't like/rate Lexus, perhaps you should be looking elsewhere? You are not going to influence their marketing strategies...- 43 replies

The factory order thing is common to many marques. You want that rare option combo, you can wait 3-6months even if the factory is just over the Channel.. My choice of RC was already on its way from Japan, the ship rounding the tip of India. Had I wanted that sunroof it would have been another 6 weeks for the next sailing. My dealer provided a link so I could track the ship all the way to Bristol, I knew my car was here before they did!- 43 replies

Hybrid - engine stop/start - Engine life
NemesisUK replied to polk123's topic in Engine & Transmission
That's what I was wondering, the engine run signal. Could be interesting, trying to find a pickup point for that signal.
