Mine wasn't OEM but converted by myself and brother-in-laws. Very fast but also somewhat fragile, had it in bits by the roadside on more than one occasion!
The Black Merc is the CLS55 AMG, an amazing 4 seater coupe, Clarkson termed as a thug in a silk dressing gown... Supercharged 5.4ltr monster that wafted along until prodded when all hell broke loose, loved it.
Glad they're working for you! In all this damp salty mucky road conditions my car is staying so much cleaner than any previous car I've had, so I'm very happy with the package.
The low charge rate specified may be to take into account not everyone would be using a well regulated charger? The ripple current from a poorly designed charger may well cause issues?
I have used the CTEK for a number of years on my CLS55. Mercedes sell the CTEK rebadged as their own charger. Perfectly safe to charge the battery without disconnection. I also had the convenience connector in the boot.
Always best to quote the manufacturer's advice/instruction. The reader can then make up their own mind.
It's been all over the motoring press for ages now. Not only that 'luxury' tax but also big changes in annual VED rates.
The £40k limit is list price plus options, not any discounted price you might negotiate...
Don't know if it's the same as the system in new Audi models. If parking brake set to automatic it will set on each time the car comes to a halt. No need to hold the car with the foot brake when stopped in traffic, at lights ect..
Before settling on a company to supply and fit your tracker check with Direct Line that they are acceptable to them. I had to have a tracker fitted in my CLS55 AMG, Direct Line were quite prescriptive regarding the one fitted...
That said have you approached Lexus? Their dealerships can supply and fit and I think would be best experienced in how to do so without causing possible issues later.
I thought with the hybrid system on all electrical demand was met by the traction battery? The 12 volt battery only supplies the entry system and the initial startup of the control modules.
Having the seat heaters and such on would only drain the 12v battery if the car was on accessory mode?
My sympathies regards your health issues, I trust you are on the road to recovery.
Your responses to newbies is rather formulaic though...
Thanks for the contact information, hopefully someone will respond..
I think Lexus have it well sorted regarding the adjustment of the rain and light sensors available to the driver "on the fly" so to speak.
In the Mercedes one has to do this via the workshop diagnostic computer. Hardly convenient....
Well done Lexus 🤗
May I make an additional request regarding thread formatting?
Would others find it useful to have the thread originator identified in subsequent posts made by him/her within the thread? It would make it much easier to see who's thread it is without having to scroll to the top of the thread....
I have 8 grandchildren under 5yrs old. I can carry two in their required car seats in the back of the RC quite comfortably. What I can't do is carry all the crap that normally comes with them. Tends to focus the parent's mind on just the essentials .....
Similar system as in the Mercedes, useful for certain situations but quite limited. Better option was to press down paddle and hold, system would drop as many gears required for max acceleration. Not tried this yet in the RC but imagine the 'box would need to be in S mode.
TBH I find leaving it in D and letting the auto box sort itself works more the adequately 99% of the time...
