  1. 2nd the Gummi-Pflege, made for the job. Conditions the seals, stops squeaks and sticking/freezing..
  2. Mud flaps are quite unobtrusive..
  3. I'm certainly pleased I added the Protection pack to my RC. The mud flaps keep the car so much cleaner. The rear and sides of the car are protected from spray and debris thrown up by the tyres. Gets a thumbs-up from me!
  4. Again the handbook says as soon as TA is set On the unit starts searching for a station broadcasting TA
  5. Can't recall the last time I actually used front fog lamps.. The triple leds certainly illuminated the foggy country roads very well a couple of weeks back..
  6. See this thread, the link in my post but buy direct from the US Amazon site.. Approx £35 inc postage and taxes
  7. Ask your dealer for the ship name and you can track it's progress using this link my dealer sent me when I was waiting delivery of my RC. Mine came on the Hawaiian Highway (which is on it's way back to JP OMZ, arriving 16 Feb..). I knew the car was in Bristol docks before the dealer! https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9712632 You could also ask for your VIN and get set up on The Lexus Customer Portal https://customerportal.lexus-europe.com/login/index.html
  8. It's always possible, get the suspension geometry checked, not just tracking but a full front/rear check.
  9. Do you mean you only changed two of the wheel to 17"?
  10. Have a look here, any look similar to yours? http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/is-250-years-2005-to-2017-wiper-blades/
  11. Just enjoy the car, drive it, clean it and in a year or so get it detailed and start again. There are far too many uncontrollables that will cause deterioration of the paint finish to get too hung up about it.
  12. Would it not be listed on a plate on the driver's door shut? Or in the owner's handbook?
  13. Obviously changed for the 2016 RC, as when I click/press the open button the boot opens fully. Needs a good pull/push to close and latch. That said unless the boot is motor driven open there must be some form of assistance, usually by springs?
  14. Not sure on the Lexus but on the Mercedes the boot has spring assistance, these springs can become weaker with age/use but can be adjusted by moving one end to a different mounting hole. Perhaps have a look to see if the same with your car?
  15. Generally speaking, if one can get this added as a 'sweetener to clinch the deal, then they are fine. If one has to pay the dealer you will be paying well over the odds for the product. It's also questionable as to whether the dealer will prep the car properly before application. All said it's probably better to get an independant detailer to prep and apply a protection coating and SuperGuard wouldn't be high on the list. No coating will give 100% protection but will delay the inevitable. There is an opinion that one should simply take the car, wash it oneself carefully and then after a year or so pay to have it 'corrected'.
  16. If the tyres are contacting the arches, then no amount of raising (within reason) will help, the tyres/rims are too wide or the offset is wrong.
  17. Perhaps set the dampeners to a softer setting? As a start anyway. Allowing the wheel/spring to compress and absorb the bumps may help but ultimately it's the lack of tyre sidewall that gives the harsh ride. You are correct in saying the calipers will determine the smallest diameter wheels that can be fitted. The smaller the rim diameter the greater the tyre section that can be fitted to maintain the correct rolling diameter. BTW - The car looks fantastic!
  18. Yes, found the info in the handbook regarding the "Auto screen change" after 20sec displaying either the audio or climate screens. Will have a play and see how it looks when set to Off. Must admit to being pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to load up my CD collection via USB memory stick.
  19. I experience the same on my 2016 RC Premium Nav system. On my Mercedes the DAB text scrolled continuously.. Currently looking through the handbook and there are settings for DAB text On/Off, not found anything yet regarding keeping the Audio full screen..
  20. The Premium Nav handbook for the 2016 RC shows TA settings for both DAB and FM. One can set each independently.
  21. Certainly on my SEAT the service tech docs required both the disc and hubs to be replaced together but I don't think I've read anything similar with regard to Lexus.. Another possibility is disc glazing i.e. pad material gets deposited on the disc face. A couple of hard stops from speed usually cures any wobble for a short while. You could try reverting to Lexus supplied discs and pads as you didn't have the problem with the OEM brakes?
  22. As it started when you changed the brakes, I'd go with them being the seat of the problem. My immediate thought was, did you clean the disc to hub faces? Really clean them? As just the smallest bit of corrosion will put the disc(s) out of true. Remove each disc and get the mating faces spotless, then see how it goes..
  23. Some sort of road debris, thrown up and caught the rim.
  24. Reading my owner's handbook and the advice for cleaning the interior leather is ... "Remove dirt and dust using a vacuum cleaner. ● Wipe off any excess dirt and dust with a soft cloth dampened with diluted detergent. Use a diluted water solution of approximately 5% neutral wool detergent. ● Wring out any excess water from the cloth and thoroughly wipe off all remaining traces of detergent. ● Wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth to remove any remaining moisture. Allow the leather to dry in a shaded and ventilated area." No mention of conditioners, something I believe is completely pointless on these modern coated leathers. I have in the past used Dr Leather wipes on previous cars and they are very convenient but basically just paper wipes impregnated with a version of the detergent mentioned in the handbook, plus fragrance. When I had my MB retrimmed using naked (i.e. uncoated) nappa leather I used the Gliptone cleaner and conditioner to very good effect but the seats needed cleaning weekly and conditioning monthly to keep them looking good! Lexus gave me a leather maintenance kit containing cleaner and conditioner and some sort of surface treatment. I've not used them yet, not sure if I ever will TBH. Currently using an"easy-on, easy-off" seat cover on my Clove leather if I'm in scruffs or work clothes.
  25. So, the Lexus Media system doesn't have dual tuners? In the Mercedes COMAND system there are two tuners.
