Looks like a taxi and is never clean.. for long!
Only joking
Seriously, black cars always look awesome and imposing. I gave up on my black AMG as it just was heartbreaking to see the dust settle within hours..

In the hybrid one would turn off the car in a gear other than Park if one wanted to continue listening to the radio etc.. as the system doesn't shut down but goes into Accessory mode.

I'm guessing you're a bit of a petrolhead!!🤔🤔🤔 so try answer this, if all of the cars above were lined up in front of you and you could take one for a blast on your favourite road with no traffic, which would you pick??
If it were my choice, either of the Skylines ...

Peter as an aside my Cavalier SRi 130 was exactly like yours I see you hail from Wiltshire, I sold it to someone over they way and if memory serves me correctly it was written off at the North Bradley crossroads A350.
The reg number was E605 YHL.

Different car, I was up in Milton Keynes back then.

chevette HSR - if I remember correctly Vauxhall only did 7 road going cars.....
with the 2.6 motor must have been unique!!
Mine wasn't OEM but converted by myself and brother-in-laws. Very fast but also somewhat fragile, had it in bits by the roadside on more than one occasion!

Love the chevette, and the cavalier sri130.
My dad had a black one as a company car in the mid eighties. at the time we thought is was like Concorde!!
The Chevette HSR was a mental car, highly tuned 2.6ltr and very low geared. Would rip to 100mph in a blink of the eye...

Hi There
The Imp my first car better in many ways in my opinion than a mini.
You to liked your Vauxhall Cavalier Sri 130 one of my favourites.
Whats the Black Mercedes I've never had a one.
Big Rat
The Black Merc is the CLS55 AMG, an amazing 4 seater coupe, Clarkson termed as a thug in a silk dressing gown... Supercharged 5.4ltr monster that wafted along until prodded when all hell broke loose, loved it.

Glad they're working for you! In all this damp salty mucky road conditions my car is staying so much cleaner than any previous car I've had, so I'm very happy with the package.

I just took out a 3 year service plan on the RC. No admin fee charged...

The low charge rate specified may be to take into account not everyone would be using a well regulated charger? The ripple current from a poorly designed charger may well cause issues?

I have used the CTEK for a number of years on my CLS55. Mercedes sell the CTEK rebadged as their own charger. Perfectly safe to charge the Battery without disconnection. I also had the convenience connector in the boot.
Always best to quote the manufacturer's advice/instruction. The reader can then make up their own mind.

My owner's handbook states a slow charge at 5A or less. One must disconnect the earth cable before charging the Battery in situ ...

It's been all over the motoring press for ages now. Not only that 'luxury' tax but also big changes in annual VED rates.
The £40k limit is list price plus options, not any discounted price you might negotiate...

Don't know if it's the same as the system in new Audi models. If parking brake set to automatic it will set on each time the car comes to a halt. No need to hold the car with the foot brake when stopped in traffic, at lights ect..

Before settling on a company to supply and fit your tracker check with Direct Line that they are acceptable to them. I had to have a tracker fitted in my CLS55 AMG, Direct Line were quite prescriptive regarding the one fitted...
That said have you approached Lexus? Their dealerships can supply and fit and I think would be best experienced in how to do so without causing possible issues later.

The one in the RC is the same size as 'normal' car batteries, certainly much bigger than the Aux Battery in the CLS55..

Don't do it, it's illegal to display DVD or video that the driver can see whilst the car is moving.

My sympathies regards your health issues, I trust you are on the road to recovery.
Your responses to newbies is rather formulaic though...
Thanks for the contact information, hopefully someone will respond..

I think Lexus have it well sorted regarding the adjustment of the rain and light sensors available to the driver "on the fly" so to speak.
In the Mercedes one has to do this via the workshop diagnostic computer. Hardly convenient....
Well done Lexus 🤗

Removes a test of the driver's ability to control the vehicle using forward and reverse gears, plus reversed coordination..
'Tis the modern way...
If this means the driver is to identify and describe hazards and other road user's intentions, then a good move. It's what advanced driver tuition requires
A good move, tests the driver's initiative and confidence
Good, tests observation as well as vehicle control. Should also introduce parallel parking , if not already included..
