Most definitely! I've had both and it's chalk and cheese. I also retrimmed my Leather twin C class with a naked nappa leather. Felt incredible, took an awful lot of looking after, definitely required conditioning on a regular basis..

My new RC300h came ceramic coated and after 5 months of simply washing with AutoGlym shampoo and drying with microfibre towels, it is still really glossy. But it lacks the slickness of a well waxed surface. So, today I washed the car with Meguiars Shampoo Plus and followed it with Meg's Synthetic X-Press Spray wax sprayed on the wet car, it acts as a drying aid (no water spots) and after wiping down with a microfibre towel, has left an exceptionally slick finish with a deep glossy wet look finish. Well pleased

MBtex and Artico are Mercedes artificial leather (vinyl) coverings. MBtex (no longer offered) was virtually bomb-proof, hard as armour and fitted to all taxis. The modern equivalent is Artico, much more realistic looking and feeling but no where near as robust or long lasting as MBtex, or genuine leather come to that. Many instances of split bolsters within the first couple of years of use. All modern automotive leathers are PU coated (sealed) and I'd be very surprised if Lexus leather is any different. Lexus models sold in the USA come with vinyl as standard, leather being a cost option. Lexus leather is infinitely more luxurious compared with the standard option MB leather, possibly on an par with their Passion leather, I just hope it is equally robust...

Used the Nav coming back from the Cannock meet, excellent route guidance. Chose the Eco route for no reason other than curiousity. Was a great drive! Only complaint really was the frequency of the voice guidance, worse than the wife!! 😁 The traffic update worked well guiding me round the NEC congestion. All in all, excellent system, if a little unintuitive in operation.

Thought all cars had to have a tyre pressure warning system of some sort and TPWS, a software system that uses data from the ABS sensors, monitoring wheel rotational speeds, is the more common and cheapest interpretation? No RF data transmitted in that system

That's a long time sitting at the docks! Mine was in and out within 24hrs but then Swindon is a lot closer than Wolverhampton and on the main drag to London

Have you already provided the dealer with some proof of your identity? Photocopy of photo license or passport etc etc.. He can't register the vehicle in your name without it

The dealer may not like it but he has a responsibility when selling. The vehicle must be safe, road legal and suitable for use and fault free, within reason, taking age, mileage and price into account. He can't turn round and say you should have noted any faults at time of sale. You have at least 3 months to report faults you believe were present when sold.

Check your settings in NAV as one can set the ave speed the car uses to calculate ETA. Maybe set very low for each road type

The discs could simply be glazed with pad material. I would try a few hard, high speed, stops and see if thing improve.

Modern engines, certainly from the German marques, all have knock sensors and can automatically adjust the ignition timing to account for the different RON. My CLS55 always ran better on V-Power, though the handbook didn't require it. The only benefit for N/A engines running 98RON would be the additional detergent and cleansers. Running 95RON will be perfectly ok

As you have purchased the car from a dealer you will be covered by their warranty. Get the issues sorted by them

Any modification from factory supplied specification should be notified to the insurer. Probably wise to speak with them before doing any mods as they may point blank refuse to cover the modified car. I added many options and mods to one of my Mercedes and my insurers were fine with them all, right up to when I said I wanted to add braided brake hoses. They said they would cancel my cover if I did......
