NX300h EV Mode/Battery
NemesisUK replied to NXnoob's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I'm confused, Rayaan. Is your model different in it's operation to the later models? In mine I can force EV mode at start up, even in sub-zero temps and a stone cold engine. It will run in EV mode until either the battery discharges or the load increases above a set level. If I don't press the EV mode button the engine will always start, to warm itself and the cabin. Using the EV button stops this. -

Mine will be the same in the morning as it was when I park up the previous evening. If yours is dropping, then I'd suspect something is amiss... -

Do you take note of the charge level when you park up and again in the morning? Does the display show a significant drop in charge level? -
When I used metal caps I smeared a little vaseline on the threads before fitting.

Ditto, Ian I also force EV Mode at first start up in the mornings. Gets me off the driveway and well on to the main road before the steep gradient causes the car to cancel the mode. If the traction battery is too low even using the EV button will not force EV mode, the dash simply displays a message EV not available. Definately noticed a marked increase in mpg and very rapid adoption of EV mode. As you say the cabin doesn't require heating so much, roll on summer!! -

Start the car and press the EV mode button as soon as the system is ready, this will force the car into EV mode, unless of course your traction battery is really low, or you accelerate too enthusiastically... -
Ah! Phone and PDF = frustration.... At least the Merc came with a manual on DVD which played in the car...

Using a keyboard, hit END key and then PageUp to the index

Just input the page number into the header bar in Adobe Reader. I generally start at the index and skip directly to the page required

I received a paper manual for my 2016 RC ... The downloaded version is much better as is the Premium Nav manual, which I only have as a download..

Climate Control Question

Yes, the A/C compressor is electrically driven, so it can operate when in EV mode. -
Climate Control Question
NemesisUK replied to 03397's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
S-flow is explained in my handbook as shutting down ventilation to the rear of the car, to reduce the load on the climate control. Depending on the cabin environment it may be automatically overridden. I took this to mean if the rear cabin temperature and/or humidity were above a preset level S-flow would be suspended. I have S-flow switched on and have not, to date, seen it overridden. Cabin comfort is excellent.. -
From the brochure for my 2016 RC, it states the seats are manufactured using 'integrated foaming' technology borrowed from motorsport technology. This is to allow a more detailed seat profile and better fit and hold than is possible using conventional upholstery methods. So the seats are going to feel (and perform?) differently from the more common form of seat construction. 6 months in and my seats are very firm and totally sag free.

Cleaning Ceramic Coated Paintwork
NemesisUK replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus Car Care & Detailing
Yes, had the detailing kit with shampoo, bird lime remover, etc... Shampoo is long gone! The ceramic coating doesn't require restoring, it sheds water very well. It's just the surface feels 'naked', I much prefer the feeling of a well waxed surface. The X-Press spray wax leaves a very slick surface. -

Meg's Synthetic X-Press spray wax applied to wet car in the full sun -
They look rather wide to be scratches? It would take some major effort to create a scratch that wide. Possibly just a deposit of some sort? Do these side windows have the same water repellent coating later model come with? I'd start by trying to clean with a proprietary glass cleaner such as Sonus or Meg's. If no joy move on to Barkeeper's Friend.
