  1. How does a modification like this sit with roadworthiness, type approval and insurance?
  2. Thanks for the update David. It good to get a feel of real ownership. I was very close to purchasing the 90kWh but a number of disappointments with Tesla customer services soured my experience. I hope you continue to enjoy the drive, there should be no reason not to, they really are cutting edge cars....
  3. Blue has so much more depth in the colour, looks fantastic in the sun.
  4. Spray over with a quick detailer to remove the residues. Don't apply so much next time and ensure you turn the buff cloth frequently
  5. All valid points of attention but a rather sweeping statement regarding Autoglass. They are franchised, so only as good as the guys operating in you location. Mine were top notch, excellent job on replacing the Merc screen. Regarding requesting an OEM screen, you'll almost certainly need your insurer's permission and they may well pass on some, if not all, of the extra cost. OEM for the Merc was £900. The Autoglass unit manager explained that many of the pattern screens are in fact OEM, just not branded as such. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. Autoglass won't use an OEM screen without prior written consent from the insurer.
  6. As I posted above, test drive them both. The only opinion that matters is yours....
  7. Looking at that, I'd say it's too large to be repaired and a replacement required. Check with your insurer, most have a replacement clause, not affecting your NCB and a set excess of £50 or £70. Your insurer may have a preferred replacement company but in most cases you can go to whomever you like. I've had very good service from Autoglass but I would always recommend one attends the depot, rather than have the work done on the drive or carpark. The company will know exactly what's required from your reg or VIN details, again things like heater wires, sensors etc.. should be no problem. Just ensure you check correct operation before signing off the work.
  8. 1sec quicker to 62mph and 35mph higher top speed. Conventional autobox and a turbocharger. Horrendous fuel economy ... Otherwise the trim levels and equipment are the same. Strongly recommend you also test drive the 200T. They drive very differently
  9. It's not detecting cameras, it's using a GPS database of locations.
  10. Oh, I don't know about that..
  11. Bacon sandwich for me. I'll leave the cake for @Big Rat ...
  12. I'd say it's #2 Mine's the 300h but so many people have commented they'd never seen or heard of the RC. Even on the forums, not been posted before, never heard if it. I'm not bothered to be honest. The car's rarity is part of it's appeal. There are soooo many MBs and BMWs it such a breath of fresh air. Long may it last (I'm sure Lexus doesn't think the same...)
  13. Used this to good effect - https://www.johnlewis.com/de-solv-it-sticky-stuff-remover-gel-100ml/p1866112#media-overlay_show
  14. Woohoo! Got my pass stamped, so will see you all on the 21st
  15. Just down the road from me, thanks for the invite. I'll check with my social secretary. What time? I'm away the previous w/e at a Mercedes meet down south, so can't commit as my calendar might suddenly get filled.....
  16. But only to those in the know. Joe Public think it's a very powerful and fast car, certainly from the comments I've had with my Sonic Red RC300h. Even my (very fast and powerful) AMG didn't attract as many admiring glances and comments. Even the Boys in Blue are paying me far too much attention, never had this with any previous car.... Loving it
  17. On mine it's tucked away in the under-dash panel, just above the pedals... One has to get right down in the footwell to see it..
  18. A great explanation of how the Atkinson cycle works, something else I was unaware of until I came to a hybrid car... Here's a more "scientific" explanation ...
  19. This guy has shed light on how the whole E-CVT transmission works for me. At last I can visualise the system and have a feeling of what's going on when I press the Go pedal. Probably been shown/discussed before but it works for me, so thought I'd share And this video explains the evolution and rationale behind it's development.
  20. Not a problem if one observes the limits ...
  21. That's not fast ..... CLS55AMG ...
  22. How many marques offer models with the option of FWD or RWD?
  23. Aren't IS-F wheels corner specific?
