  1. Probably been posted before but this might be of interest
  2. And one would have Lexus responsible for any issues that may arise ...
  3. Check the windscreen scuttle drains are clear. Also check the a/c drain. Blockages can cause water to back up into the car.
  4. Do tell.. Manufactured to the same standard but also to the same quality?
  5. Checked against my VIN and nothing, no open campaigns ..
  6. After sending them from the Portal one must download them into the car's Nav system. From in the car, with the main Nav menu showing, select "My Memory" then "Memory Points" then "External Points" screen should change to the connect to Portal, once connection is established the download will commence. One can set the system to automatically download routes using the Connected Services menu. Obviously one has to have established bluetooth or WiFi tethering on the phone.
  7. No, I don't want one.. Really I don't No, honestly! ...
  8. Thanks, found that and have used it many times but thought there should be a way to cancel completely? I suppose it achieves the same thing ...
  9. Brighter = more stress on the backlighting
  10. I've read the handbook and played with the Sat Nav but for the life of me I cannot fathom how to cancel or stop a running route guidance! I have an RC300h, 2016 with Premium Navigation.
  11. Agree 100%, they can be most evasive! That said I found Michelin to be quite open when, whilst their guest at Le Mans, I asked them regarding MO and MO1 labelled tyres. Their answer reflects pretty much what you've said above, the MO and MO1 tyres were the best of the batch, in that they meet the much stricter QC requirements set down by Mercedes. The tyres themselves were constructed/manufactured no differently to the non- MO/MO1 tyres.
  12. In my 6 months of ownership, no problems. I can only speak for the RC but the adaptive, variable suspension can only be set to be firmer (when selecting Sport+ mode.) there is no specific 'Comfort' setting My understanding is that in all other modes the suspension constantly adapts to one's driving style (enthusiastic, sedate etc..) and the road surface. Putting the car into Sport+ mode forces the suspension to adopt the most firm setting all the time. In my experience this setting is much too firm for driving on our usual 'A' and 'B' roads. The car becomes fidgety in the corners and is easily deflected .. Probably fine on well maintained surfaces and race tracks
  13. Perhaps you can clarify/correct some of the misinformation that's floating about? Who manufactures Lexus OEM windscreens and who manufactures pattern windscreens? I've seen first hand MB windscreens with the MB logo etched out and sold as pattern, are these perhaps "seconds"? From other parts ( i.e. brake pads and discs, filters etc..) supplied to the automotive industry I known the same manufactures can supply both and the parts are marketed as OEM specification but it has been proven so many times that specification and quality are not synonymous. (I ask the question not to provoke or antagonise but to help better understand)
  14. I doubt you know the gentleman personally, so to imply he is "average uniformed(sic)" is an uninformed assumption on your part...
  15. I think the Portal is experiencing issues as my service history has vanished. Some tabs are not opening that worked before. Website an IT doesn't seem to be a Lexus forte ....
  16. One can extend the periods between the engine starts by switching off the climate control. Ok at this time of year but not nice in winter....
  17. Looks more like an issue with the display itself, perhaps the backlighting driver?
  18. I'm not sure the function is available yet. My 2016 doesn't have the Connectivity option in the menus but my Premium Nav system is successfully connected with the Portal and everything else functions as expected. Maybe only the 2017 models have this enabled?
  19. Probably "just you" akin to feeling the car always drives better after a good clean and polish... The sulphur smell would suggest the CATs are working but you may have an exhaust leak? Sometimes one can smell the catalysed exhaust fumes if the wind is following whilst is slow traffic.. This is usually only as the CATs heat up at the beginning of a journey.
