  1. Not experienced this on my 2020 RX, although the HUD does dim slightly when in Park. I think it's a fault that needs dealer intervention..
  2. The a/c would be off anyway as it doesn't operate at temps below ~5c, air recirc would be set to external by the climate control, if you have auto option...
  3. I'm sure the cooler weather plus the salt deposits won't be helping either...
  4. Just changing the tyre section will have minimal effect on ride. Changing wheel diameter with a corresponding increase in tyre section to maintain the rolling circumference is the better way to go. Don't forget to consult with your insurers first, shouldn't be a problem as long as the model was optioned with the smaller wheel size originally.
  5. With all Lexus hybrids the brakes only come into use at low speeds (unless one does an emergency stop) and on every one I've driven the brakes groan when coming to a slow stop. Releasing the brake pedal just before a complete stop sometimes prevents it but TBH it doesn't bother me anymore.
  6. I think if visibility or light levels are that low then perhaps all lights should be on? Why bother with DRLs at all and why not have all side/rear/dipped beam lights on all the time? I believe this what the Scandinavians pioneered many years before the EU dictated DRLs be fitted.
  7. Again, from the handbook - " Charging power will not be output during standby." So, there will be no EMF until the tray detects a QI compatible device?
  8. I just learnt a new word there! (yes I had to look it up)
  9. "If my vehicle is nine years and 364 days old on the day of service, will a Lexus warranty contract be activated and will it expire the next day? A full contract will be activated every time an eligible vehicle undergoes a qualifying service. In this example the vehicle will be covered until one day before the 11th anniversary of its first date of registration." https://mag.lexus.co.uk/Lexus-warranty-how-it-works/
  10. I imagine they will be pretty thin on the ground in Chile and Peru as well.
  11. I don't think Lexus ever offered a manufacturer's 5yr warranty in the UK (Toyota did) The 10yr 100k miles warranty no offered is conditional on being serviced annually by Lexus
  12. Leaving it on will not cause any problems surely? Unless the unit detects a wirelessly rechargeable device it won't operate? Looking through the owner's handbook, there doesn't appear to be any button to switch it off, only operation condition indicators on the tray side and the multimedia screen. What it does say in the handbook (page 345) is - "Do not use the charging tray as a small storage space" https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM33G50E.pdf
  13. The car of real interest IMHO is the Toyota GR Yaris H2, being a hydrogen fuelled ICE
  14. Mmm.. Not sure on this as today's trips are shown in the app but the phone has not been within bluetooth range of the car and the car wifi option is off? I was assuming it can only connect with the web via my phone but an embedded sim, or the wifi hotspot unit must be active?
  15. I wondered this also as today I left my phone at home but the trips to and from work have been recorded in the app. I have a wifi hotspot unit fitted but according to the Connected services it doesn't have an active data plan. So I'm guessing there is either an 'always active' SIM elsewhere or the one in the wifi hotspot is connected for these services only (how would it (they) know? Perversely, even when my phone is with me in the car there are occasions when the same trips trips that don't get recorded! Must be cell coverage drop outs?
  16. Once you have a diagnosis and estimated cost of repair from Lexus you can perhaps explore alternatives, such as repairs from an auto-electrician but until you know what's wrong and have a benchmark cost it's all guesswork...
  17. If this was a trade sale, take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it. If a private sale, perhaps a local auto-electrician can help. Failing that take it to a Lexus dealership or independent and get the error codes read
  18. Perhaps the first question is what is your budget?
  19. https://www.lexus-tech.eu/DiagnosticTools/Setup
  20. It was just an offer and if you're not interested, politely decline and forget it. The dealer is just doing his job of trying to maximise profits
  21. If you don't physically open a door does the car lock itself again after ~20sec?
  22. No idea but being Lexus it wont be cheap.. Best get someone to scan the car using TechStream and see if anything is logged, or perhaps a good auto-electrician to have a look before forking out on parts
  23. @Nick0 I downloaded this manual from the Lexus website, seems to cover the two types of wiper operation. Look from page 241 https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM76067E.pdf
  24. I had to go to my big screen pc to spot that!
  25. Tyres on the front different front those on the rear?
