  1. Lucky the local plod didn't spot the unattended car with it's engine running...
  2. Once the odour has been eliminated, always run the a/c, never switch it off. The dehumidification of the incoming air will help prevent bacteria growing
  3. Second the dealer suggestion. Also what about Halfords?
  4. Surely the lip is where the pads don't contact the disc? I don't see how the lip would cause squeal. All discs form a lip as they wear. A contaminated disc could and changing them just removed the contaminant?
  5. So, use bluetooth and your phone's GSM connection to rule out that possibility. ... If you're connecting ok to the car, the problem seems to be with your portal connection from the car. So that would point toward the credentials you've entered into the set-up in the sat-nav. Have you cleared all your logon details saved in the sat-nav and re entered your portal ID (not your Portal log in) and your password?
  6. As I understand it the adaptive part is just how stiff the dampers are, switching to Sport+ just changes the valve setting in the damper. The ride height doesn't change. Check out the tuning firms in the States and Japan, there are a number that do lowering springs. Just make sure they specifically state for the hybrid because of the extra weight.
  7. Only when reversing? Could it be a loose arch liner?
  8. No secret, all the customisations are listed in the back of the handbook.
  9. My thoughts are one should always match dampers with springs. If you fit shorter springs you really should dampers with shorter travel. I'd never fit second hand dampers..
  10. Closest is Clove, not sure if one can get it with the optional sports seats in the F
  11. Nah, red is the colour Add some wheels and body kit..
  12. Think I'd prefer this one.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-Lexus-soarer-v8/122461448418?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D43782%26meid%3D27c7cd1f5ab74c87a1cf675ac5eaf88b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D192170336908
  13. Impracticality and 'radical' ( as in Radical Coupe) style and , so far, rarity. The latter I don't see changing drastically
  14. That was the wife's choice ... don't tell her! Yes the Sonic Red has an amazing depth and constantly changes in diffuse light and direct sun. The Clove leather lifts the interior out of the usual darkness that the common black imposses.
  15. The RC is such a looker, I have never had so many compliments on a car I've owned before. My AMG drew attention from those who knew their cars but the RC gets everyone's attention. From thumbs up from drivers of your typical 'ricer' to long and intense attention from the 'boys in blue' that I never experienced in my AMG, this car is definitely an attention grabber even though, in hybrid form, is no performance car, it doesn't seem to matter to the casual observer. That said even 'those who should know' have mistaken it for the V8. To say I'm stoked is an understatement
  16. No point other than to help keep the engine cleaner due to the additional detergents etc.. I've feed mine with nothing other than V-Power from new. But then I had a pump with my name on it from running the CLS55 ....
  17. Apologies, my comment was rather harsh. I see your tactics now. It can be a very useful function for the high mileage driver. Not sure why the two can't operate simultaneously, I'm thinking the dealer might be correct in so far as the Lexus operating system is inadequate
  18. So, we've got to the point where some one won't buy a car because it won't read emails or texts?? One question, do you have tethering set up? In that the car is connected to the internet via the phone. I've noticed if I tether to my phone the car doesn't read out texts. Turn off tethering and all's well again.
  19. I'm with Linas on this. An interesting car but unless you're heavily into modified (and this one isn't radical enough, except for the price!) the IS-F is by far the more desirable.
  20. Slightly off topic but I only found out recently that Mark Levinson is part of the Harman (as in Harmon Kardon) group. Small world ...
  21. As our experiences seem to differ even on the same vehicle types, it may well have a lot to do with how each modulates the brakes. It's certainly not something I'm going to bother trying to eradicate by swapping pads and discs ....
  22. You have to have such confidence to simply grip and pull trim out like that!! I'd be so scared of something snapping ...
