  1. Have you tried resetting the system by pressing and holding down the power/volume button on the audio panel? With the IGN on..
  2. No idea where in Hampshire you are but these guys in Ligh****er come very highly recommended. No idea why ligh.t.w.a.t.e.r should be censored?
  3. Is that just a retired electronics engineer thing? Most would dot the i's
  4. It's all argument that could be used to counter/discredit/muddy the accusations.
  5. Thinking about our gtg, being a holiday w/e, should a table be booked? Not sure I could negotiate a full English whilst standing....
  6. OK, again as devil's advocate... The OP was in the Turn Left lane, yet after the incident, accelerated into the Turn Right lane, yet the turn right lane existed prior to the incident? The other driver continued in the Turn Left lane. Who was in the wrong lane at the time of the incident? What was the OP's intention going forward, what was the other driver's intention?
  7. Just to play devil's advocate.. He was slowing to merge left and you accelerated up his inside..?
  8. Would be better via a spare fuse in the fuse box but as long as you have an inline fuse shouldn't be a problem..
  9. Yup the worst kind of lawyer, a barstool lawyer... I just dislike the phrase "rip off", to me that describes a transaction in which one is lead to believe one thing and ends up with something completely different. In all these contracts one is advised to read the T&Cs before signing, so one shouldn't be surprised when the inevitable happens. That all said I fully agree motor insurance is totally unethical in it's implementation. It is a legal requirement, (unless one is wealthy enough to be able to lodge a letter at Lloyds) not a voluntary purchase and all the companies operate alike. Unfortunately until every car is fitted with dash cams and carry GPS trackers unless there are independant witnesses to the RTC insurers will have to carry the 'reasonable doubt'.
  10. How is it a rip off? It's all there in the policy T&Cs which you read and agreed to before signing. You will also find they require you to inform you insurers in the event you are involved in an accident, whether you're to blame or not.
  11. Wife loves the RC... Won't drive it but loves it.. Well, likes the colour...
  12. Have checked that the iPhone supports the correct protocols to work with the Lexus Nav system?
  13. Being a hybrid has no relevance regarding replacing discs and pads, apart from the need is usually much reduced.
  14. Is it braking (are the brake lamps coming on?) or engine braking? My CLS55 was very good at keeping the speed down, even without using the radar cruise. My C class not so good. The RC will gain speed very quickly, no engine braking to speak of at all but then that's good for using regen braking.
  15. What number did you need from the logbook? Regarding the could not connect, check and double check you are entering the (correct) password correctly. Capitals, spaces, full stops etc.. Is your phone successfully connecting to the car and the internet?
  16. Further info regarding discontinuation of cruise function, point #1 is quite interesting, wonder under what circumstances that might happen? ■ Automatic cruise control cancelation Cruise control is automatically canceled in any of the following situations. ● Actual vehicle speed falls more than approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) below the set speed. ● Actual vehicle speed is below approximately 40 km/h (25 mph). ● VSC is activated. ● TRC is activated for a period of time. ● When the VSC or TRC system is turned off by pressing the VSC OFF switch.
  17. From approx 25mph for me also. From the handbook ... Do not use cruise control in any of the following situations. Doing so may result in loss of control and could cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury. ● In heavy traffic ●On roads with sharp bends ● On winding roads ● On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow ●On steep hills Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill. ● During emergency towing
  18. Which is very much not an IS-F. This thread is in the wrong sub-forum.....
  19. But in your opening post you said you tried 5 other models and they all did the same as your car? Now you're saying you took out a courtesy car and it worked as you expected it should.... Curious. The handbook clearly states cruise control will not maintain the set speed on a steep downhill gradient. Only my CLS55 with radar cruise would use the brakes to keep the speed down. My C class with standard cruise didn't.
  20. Which type of cruise control do you have? Is it the 'standard' cruise or the radar controlled cruise? If it's the standard version the car cannot reduce speed, so as the car gathers speed on the descent it will simply go faster. The cruise is still SET and operational and once at the bottom of the hill and the car starts to slow, it will apply the throttle to keep the speed as set. The radar controlled cruise can if I'm understanding it correctly, reduce the cars speed to match that of the car in front (detected by the radar) and apply brakes to bring the speed down. It would also be able to do this when the car gathers speed down hill. ETA - just read the owner's handbook for my RC and there it states that even with Dynamic radar cruise speed may exceed that set when descending steep hills. I think your car is behaving as designed, you may be expecting too much from the cruise function?
  21. 5 other models do the same, do not a fault as such. When you say you engage cruise just before going down a slope, I presume you are on the flat? Can you describe exactly what it is you are doing when the function refuses to engage?
